Abstract

Agricultural commodity prices are subject to significant volatility, driven by a complex interplay of economic, environmental, and geopolitical factors. This study employs a bibliometric approach to systematically analyze global research trends related to agricultural price fluctuations and policy responses. Drawing on 20 years of data from the Scopus database, we examine the evolution of key themes, influential authors, institutional collaborations, and geographical contributions within the academic literature. Using VOSviewer, keyword co-occurrence, temporal mapping, and authorship networks were visualized to reveal the intellectual structure of the field. The analysis identifies three dominant thematic clusters: sustainability and land-use dynamics, market and crop-specific price behavior, and policy interventions in agricultural trade. Results show a growing shift in recent years toward interdisciplinary research encompassing biofuels, supply chain resilience, energy linkages, and technological innovations. The United States, United Kingdom, China, and Brazil emerge as major contributors to the literature, with strong collaborative ties across regions. Despite the field’s diversity and maturity, the study highlights gaps in evaluating long-term policy effectiveness and the underrepresentation of low-income, agriculture-dependent nations. This review offers valuable insights to inform future research directions and guide more inclusive, data-driven policy frameworks for managing agricultural commodity price volatility.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of agribusiness partnership models and microcreation schemes on market access and their implications for the welfare of coffee farmers in East Java. Using a quantitative research approach with a sample of 200 coffee farmers, data were analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) using SmartPLS 3.0. The results reveal that both agribusiness partnerships and microcreation schemes have a positive and significant effect on market access. Furthermore, market access was found to significantly improve farmer welfare, acting as a mediating variable between the independent variables and welfare outcomes. These findings underscore the importance of integrated rural development strategies that combine institutional collaboration, access to finance, and market facilitation. The study contributes to the understanding of sustainable agricultural development by highlighting how structured partnerships and financial inclusion can enhance market participation and economic resilience among smallholder farmers.

Abstract

This study analyzes the economic feasibility of organic farming as part of sustainable agriculture in Indonesia. Using a quantitative research design, data were collected from 75 respondents consisting of organic farmers and stakeholders. A structured questionnaire with a Likert scale (1–5) was employed, and data were analyzed using SPSS version 25, including descriptive statistics, validity and reliability testing, and multiple regression analysis. The results show that organic farming is economically feasible, with production costs, profitability, market access, and sustainability all exerting positive and significant influences on economic feasibility. The regression model explained 61.2% of the variance, with sustainability emerging as the strongest predictor, followed by profitability, production costs, and market access. These findings suggest that organic farming not only contributes to environmental sustainability but also provides tangible financial returns for Indonesian farmers. Policy implications highlight the need for government support in training, certification, market development, and financial incentives to strengthen the organic sector. The study concludes that organic farming can serve as a viable strategy for sustainable rural development in Indonesia, although challenges related to market access and certification remain.

Abstract

This study explores strategies for increasing the added value of agricultural products through the development of local agribusiness. A qualitative approach was employed, involving in-depth interviews with five key informants, including farmers, an agribusiness practitioner, a cooperative representative, and a local government official. The findings reveal that enhancing product value requires an integrated strategy encompassing product processing and diversification, branding and marketing innovation, technology adoption, farmer empowerment, and policy and institutional support. Farmers’ capacity building, supported by cooperatives and government programs, plays a crucial role in sustaining value-added initiatives. The study concludes that the development of local agribusiness not only increases the competitiveness and marketability of agricultural products but also contributes to rural economic growth and improved community welfare.

Abstract

There is an urgent need for aquaculture systems that not only increase productivity, but also maintain ecological balance and improve the well-being of local communities. With increasing pressure on natural resources due to overexploitation, emerging climate change, and global economic uncertainty, new approaches that integrate terrestrial and marine ecosystems are crucial. This research aims to develop an integrated aquaculture model that prioritises harmony between nature and society. This approach incorporates organic farming and mariculture practices, in line with blue economy principles, to create environmental sustainability and social welfare. The research method used was descriptive qualitative, with a focus on mapping specific regional areas consisting of three or four agro-climatic regions. Data were collected through surveys and focus group discussions (FGDs), covering ecological factors such as climate, coastal plain quality, seabed and seawater. Seawater health estimation for mariculture was based on physical, chemical and biological parameters with APHA (1992) guidelines. The results show that this integrated aquaculture can improve environmental quality and productivity of land and sea, while creating harmony between natural resource management and social welfare. This model provides a practical solution to achieve sustainable development.

Abstract

Chocolate is a processed product derived from cocoa beans that has undergone fermentation, drying, roasting, and grinding to produce high-quality cocoa powder. The processing of chocolate in a company involves many lengthy stages. Implementing a marketing mix is used as a technique to increase sales. The company needs to identify the superior products favored by consumers to develop priority marketing strategies. This study aims to analyze the application of the marketing mix in the chocolate industry and generate prioritized marketing strategies for the superior chocolate products produced by a company in Bali. The research method used is the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The results indicate that the marketing mix includes chocolate products such as chocolate cream, chocolate bars, and liquid chocolate. Product pricing depends on the form, with the most apparent pricing being for chocolate bars, calculated based on weight in grams. The production site is located at the main factory, which processes cocoa into chocolate cream, chocolate bars, and liquid chocolate, allowing consumers to experience the chocolate processing firsthand and try packaging chocolate at the factory. Chocolate promotion is continuously carried out through offline and online media, such as the company's website, which provides background information on chocolate production to the industry in Bali. The priority in chocolate marketing, based on the Analytical Hierarchy Process, is chocolate cream, followed by chocolate bars and liquid chocolate.
