Abstract

Marriage is a very important and sacred event in married life. Marriage is a legitimate starting point to establish kinship and brotherhood of the two extended families. So, it’s not uncommon for a wedding to be enlivened by a lively party, spending a very large budget. Nevertheless, there is a certain community in Madura that ignores it, so it does not record it in the official institution, the KUA (the Office of Religious Affairs). Even though marriage registration brings benefit, justice and protection of civil rights as well as preventive measures in preventing unawareness, so that the MWC NU of Gapura, Sumenep runs a program called “Mass Isbat Nikah”. The above problems raise two questions. Why do many isbat of marriage occur in a married couple? and how is the implementation? The review of this article will focus on how the implementation of mass marital marriage in Madura with socio-philosophical analysis. [ Pernikahan adalah peristiwa yang sangat penting dan sakral dalam kehidupan berumah tangga. Dari pernikahan itulah awal mula terjalinnya hubungan kekerabatan dan persaudaraan dua keluarga besar secara sah. Sehingga tidak jarang sebuah pernikahan dimeriahkan dengan pesta yang meriah, sehingga menghabiskan budget yang sangat besar. Meskipun demikian terdapat sebuah komunitas tertentu di Madura yang mengabaikannya, sehingga salah satu cara adalah dengan tidak mencatatkannya pada institusi resmi yaitu KUA. Padahal pencatatan pernikahan mendatangkan kemaslahatan, keadilan dan perlindungan terhadap hak-hak perdata serta sebagai tindakan preventif dalam mencegah kemadaratan, sehingga kondisi ini yang mendasari program kerja MWC NU di Kecamatan Gapura Kabupaten Sumenep untuk mengadakan “Isbat Nikah Massal”. Problematika di atas memunculkan dua pertanyaan yaitu Mengapa banyak terjadi isbat nikah pasangan suami istri di Madura serta bagaimana implementasinya? Kajian artikel ini akan difokuskan pada bagaimana implementasi isbat nikah massal di Madura dengan analisis sosio-filosofis.]

Abstract

This study examines the authenticity and limitations sources of Tafsīr bi al-Maʾṯūr in addressing contemporary intellectual challenges. While often regarded as authoritative for relying on the Qur'an, Hadith, and the sayings of the Sahabah and Tābi'īn, Tafsīr bi al-Maʾṯūr faces challenges such as the inclusion of Isrāiliyāt, omitted Sanad (chains of transmission), as fabricated reports. This study explores traditional scholars' approaches to these issues using qualitative and descriptive methods based on library research. It evaluates the contribution ofTafsīr bi al-Maʾṯūr to modern Islamic thought. The conclusion indicates that not all Tafsīr bi al-Maʾṯūr maintain high authenticity despite its general perception as being based on reliable sources. Some interpretations rely on narratives that lack a direct connection to the Qur'anic text, including Isrāiliyāt and fabricated hadiths, or omit Sanad, raising doubts about their credibility. Therefore, looking at previous studies which say that Tafsīr bi al-Maʾṯūr is sufficient as the primary reference in understanding the text of the Qur'an, this is fatal because a more dynamic and contextual interpretation approach is still needed to ensure that the interpretation of the Qur'an remains relevant in the modern era.

Abstract

Hadith studies in Indonesia have lagged despite hadith being the second source of Islam. The question is how Muslim scholars and Islamic social organizations have contributed to developing hadith studies in Indonesia. To answer this, library research with an analytical approach was conducted to discover a description of their contributions. Data was gathered through a literature study, analyzing references written by Muslim scholars in Indonesia using inductive and content analysis. The result shows that the lag in hadith studies is due to the lack of attention from Muslim scholars and the limited resources of hadith. However, Hadith studies began to be experienced in the second half of the 19th Century, growing to the early 20th Century. This was, among others, driven by the purification of Islamic teachings and the critique of Orientalists who undermined hadith. In this context, Muslim scholars and Islamic social organizations in Indonesia have significantly contributed to the development of hadith studies, mainly through providing literature on hadith and its sciences. However, their approaches differ. Muslim scholars interpret hadith textually and contextually, while Islamic social organizations, except NU, primarily use a textual approach. NU, in contrast, applies both approaches in its deliberations.

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the government of the Sidoarjo district in Indonesia implemented regulations regarding worship in mosques, leading to both support and opposition among the community. This article examines the mosque management policies related to the mechanisms of prayer during the pandemic in Sidoarjo. The research adopts an empirical approach empowered by sociological jurisprudence, focusing on how law interacts with society. Data was collected through observations, interviews, and documentation and analyzed deductively using the maqasid al-shari'ah theory. The study reveals several key findings. First, nine mosques complied with Regent Regulation Number 31 of 2020, which mandated the suspension of religious activities within mosques. In contrast, two mosques did not follow this regulation. Second, all mosques adhered to Regent Regulation Number 32 of 2020, which permitted religious activities in places of worship, provided that health protocols were followed. Third, none of the mosques complied with Regent Regulation Number 44 of 2020, which stipulated that religious activities must be halted if anyone present tested positive for COVID-19. Based on these findings, mosque management that adhered to the Sidoarjo Regent's regulations in response to COVID-19 was fulfilling the principles of preserving religion and safeguarding life as outlined in maqasid al-shari'ah. Conversely, mosque management that did not comply with the regulations was acting contrary to these principles. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has thus indirectly influenced mosque management policies regarding worship practices. To align with maqasid al-shari'ah, mosque management should comply with the Sidoarjo Regent's regulations to promote benefits and avoid harm.

Abstract

The study of Qur'anic interpretation continues to develop along with the dynamics of Islamic thought, one of which is through the pattern of kalām interpretation developed by the Mu'tazilah. Tafsir al-Kashshāf by al-Zamakhsharī is one of the main representations of the Mu'tazilah rational approach in understanding the verses of tanzīh i'tiqādiyyah. This study aims to analyze the epistemological relationship between reason and revelation in the interpretation, especially in interpreting the concepts of divinity, divine justice, and human free will. In this context, a methodological dilemma arises between the authority of reason as the main interpretive instrument and the authority of revelation as a source of transcendent truth, which is problematic in the discourse of interpretation—both historically and contemporary. Using qualitative methods based on literature studies and content analysis of the interpretation text, this study found that al-Zamakhsharī emphasized the supremacy of reason in interpreting verses containing elements of anthropomorphism, and rejected literal interpretations that have the potential to equate God with creatures. This interpretation consistently prioritizes linguistic and logical approaches to maintain the purity of the concept of monotheism. This study contributes to understanding the epistemological construction of Mu'tazilah interpretation and opens up opportunities for the development of contemporary interpretation methodology that is rational-transcendental and contextual.

Abstract

Praonan is a tradition of the people of Pasuruan City that remains to this day, held on the seventh day of Idul Fitri, and is a source of understanding of the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad Saw at the level of field practice. This study used a qualitative method with a field study approach. Data collection was performed by observing and interviewing five people who were aware of the traditions of Praonan that originated in the three hadiths. This research intends to examine how the integration of Hadith and the praonan tradition and the content of values in the praonan tradition in the view of living hadith and social construction theory of Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann. The findings of this research are as follows: (1) authentic Hadith history and Praonan traditions rooted in society are not contradictory but mutually synergistic and integrated; (2) Contains noble values that are beneficial to society until today, which are strengthening friendship, alms, and honoring the guests

Abstract

This paper presents a comprehensive examination of the ba’ayun mawlid tradition in South Kalimantan, offering a unique perspective on the living hadith and cultural acculturation within the context of Islam’s peaceful dissemination in the region. Originating as the Bapalas Bidan, a pre-Islamic ritual honoring supernatural spirits involved in childbirth, this tradition underwent a significant transformation after the advent of Islam, retaining its structure while embracing Islamic values and practices. Today, ba’ayun mawlid takes place in mosques under the guidance of religious leaders and midwives, featuring salawat in place of Kaharingan spells. This study delves into the diverse motivations driving community engagement in this tradition, including vow fulfillment, the annual zuriat ritual, the pursuit of blessings from sacred customs and locales, tawassul to nurture filial devotion and love for the Prophet, efforts to enhance livelihoods, cultural heritage preservation, and the evolution of ba’ayun mawlid into a form of religious tourism. Rooted in the prophetic hadith promising reunion with loved ones in the hereafter, this cultural phenomenon underscores the profound influence of religious practices on shaping values, identities, and the cultural landscape of the Banua Halat community. It provides valuable insights into the dynamics of acculturation and the enduring impact of religion on Indonesian society.

Abstract

Dalam Al-Qur’an dijelaskan perbedaan laki-laki dan Perempuan, bukan pembedaan. Perbedaan maksudnya adalah dalam hal kondisi fisik dan biologis Topik pembedaan antara laki-laki dan Perempuan selalu menjadi tema yang menarik untuk dibahas dan kemudian masyhur disebut kajian gender, karena memang sudah sangat membudaya bias gender yang berlandaskan ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an. Tetapi, nyatanya Al-Qur’an menyetarakan posisi laki-laki dan Perempuan baik dari sisi sebagai hamba Allah maupun sebagai makhluk sosial. Selain itu, banyak ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an yang menyebut laki-laki dan Perempuan dalam satu khitab. Sehingga dapat dipahami bahwa Al-Qur’an memposisikan laki-laki dan Perempuan secara berimbang dan setara, hal ini dikuatkan oleh ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an yang secara konteks menjelaskan tentang kepemimpinan Perempuan, di antaranya adalah Qs. An-Naml ayat 34, Qs. Al-Baqarah: 30, Qs. Al-Mumtahanah: 12, Qs. At-Taubah: 71 serta Qs. An-Nisa’ ayat 58. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian library research dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif-analitis yang menghasilkan sebuah kesimpulan bahwa Al-Qur’an memberikan peluang Perempuan untuk menjadi pemimpin karena secara naluri Perempuan-pun mempunyai potensi yang sama dengan laki-laki. Sehingga keemimpinan Perempuan dalam Al-Qur’an mencerminkan adanya kesetaraan antara laki-laki dan Perempuan.Kata Kunci: Kesetaraan Gender, Kepemimpinan Perempuan, Ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an

Abstract

Degradasi moral remaja seperti asusila, kekerasan, narkotika harus diselesaikan. Pendidikan aqidah sesuai Alquran menjadi solusinya. Metode penelitian ini kualitatif deskriptif, dengan kontekstualisasi Alquran. Dalam Alquran Nabi Ibrahim dan Nabi Ya’qub wasiat kepada keturunannya agar menyembah Allah dan mati sebagai muslim. Keturunannya menjawab akan menyembah Allah yang maha Esa. Dan Luqman yang berpesan kepada keturunannya agar menyembah Allah, amal ma’ruf, nahi munkar. Internalisasi pendidikan dimulai dilingkup keluarga, orang tua menjadi teladan. Menyampaikan pesan dengan ramah, rahmah dan istiqomah. Lingkungan sekolah memberikan materi aqidah disetiap pelajaran dengan metode bernyanyi, agar anak mudah memahami. Manusia adalah makhluk sosial, menghargai perbedaan dan saling tolong menolong. Dari Aqidah yang kuat, ketaatan seorang hamba kepada tuhannya akan menghindarkan dari perbuatan yang tidak bermoral. Dampak penelitian ini sebagai pedoman pendidik dan orang tua untuk mengkonseling remaja, pembahasan yang singkat dan mudah dipahami, sehingga bisa dilakukan oleh siapapun, dan mampu mengatasi masalah degradasi moral remaja. Abstract

This article examines the parable of the fly in the Qur'an, specifically in Surah Al-Hajj verse 73, and how this parable is used to describe human nature from the perspective of Ṭanṭāwī Jauharī in his tafsir, Tafsīr Al-Jawāhir fī Tafsīr Al-Qur'ān Al-Karīm. This research employs the library research method by collecting and analyzing various relevant literature sources, including books, journals, and other scholarly works. The analysis technique utilized is descriptive analysis, which involves the systematic collection, compilation, classification, analysis, and interpretation of data. The findings indicate that although flies are mentioned in a limited number of verses, this parable conveys profound wisdom about human nature. Analysis of Surah Al-Hajj verse 73 from Ṭanṭāwī Jauharī's perspective reveals that the fly in this parable reflects several human traits. First, it symbolizes human weakness in facing life's challenges, similar to the fly's lack of significant strength. Second, it illustrates man's dependence on Allah, akin to the fly's reliance on its environment for survival. Third, it highlights man's inability to create or alter anything without divine assistance, just as the fly cannot escape a simple trap. Ṭanṭāwī Jauharī's interpretation also underscores that the parable of the fly illustrates the insignificance of man in the face of Allah's greatness and the necessity for humans to recognize and accept their limitations. This article significantly contributes to understanding the relationship between parables in the Qur'an and human character, enriching the field of Qur'anic exegesis and Islamic ethical studies.
