Abstract

This study aims to describe the skills of communicating the results of practicum by prospective biology teacher students and identify the obstacles faced by prospective biology teacher students in communicating the results of practicum. Descriptive research with data obtained from the value of the practicum report and analyzed descriptively categorically. Data mining was also carried out through interviews with students whose practicum report scores were low. The results showed that the skills of prospective biology teacher students in compiling practicum reports were in a fairly good category (44.12%). The low skill of students based on these findings is because there are several obstacles faced by students when compiling a practicum report as a form of written communication. Understanding of how to write a practicum report and students' mastery of the material that is the topic of practicum are factors that affect the communication skills found in this study.

Abstract

Learning in the General Biology course requires relevant and contextual teaching materials to make it easier for lecturers and students to carry out the knowledge sharing process during lectures. One type of teaching material is a module. The module developed is the WASAKA-based Ethno-Edu Module. Next, to describe the quality of the module being developed, this research was carried out. This research, which aims to describe the validity and practicality of the WASAKA-based Ethno-Edu Module, was carried out using a method which is part of a series of research into the develop-ment of Educational Design Research (EDR) through expert review, one to one evaluation, small group evaluation and field test. The expert test was carried out by 7 validators whose assessment re-sults were calculated based on the Aiken formula. Individual tests, small group tests and field tests were carried out on students taking General Biology courses on the concept of Biodiversity. The re-search results obtained data on the content validity and linguistic validity of the WASAKA-based Ethno-Edu Module according to the Aiken formula ranging from 0.80-0.90 for each item. The valid-ity results of the module presentation ranged from 0.80-1.00 for each item. Student assessment of the practicality of the module was 4.29 in the individual test, 4.41 in the small group test and 4.28 in the field test. Thus, it can be concluded that the Ethno-Edu Module is classified as valid for use as a companion module in General Biology learning and is very practical for students to use.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the validity of the integration of religious values in BioPhy magazine and the religious character of pre-service science teachers when using the Floating Market-based BioPhy magazine. These religious values are related to the concept of fluidity, biodiversity, ecosystem, and the local character of South Kalimantan society, namely kayuh baimbai. This research was development research with Tessmer formative evaluation model. The test subjects to determine the religious character of students were 10 students from the Chemistry Education Department in the small group trial and 43 students from Biology Education Department in the field test. Both subjects were currently attending Fluid lectures in the 2021/2022 academic year in the Basic Physics course. Data were obtained through validation sheets, a self-evaluation inventory of religious characters, and observation sheets. Data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed that integrating religious values in magazines was valid, with the Aiken validity coefficient ranging from 0.92 to 1.00. In addition, pre-service chemistry teachers have a religious character with an average score of 4.71, and pre-service biology teachers have a religious character with an average score of 4.77 in the affective domains A1 to A5 based on Bloom's taxonomy. The religious character of the two test subjects was categorized as very good. Thus, the Floating Market-based BioPhy magazine can be used to train the religious character of Pre-Service Science teachers. The developed magazine can be used in the Basic Physics course. Future research could be piloted for a larger sample as this research was limited to a not-so-large sample, and the magazine was developed only on fluid topics in the Basic Physics course.

Abstract

Validation is meant to be the truth of a product developed. Validation aims to determine the validity of a product, for example, in Popular Scientific Book (BIP). BIP is written in a simple and easy to understand. Contains about everyday activities that relate to the life of the community. Binjai is a typical Kalimantan plant that has benefits related to the local wisdom. This research aims to describe validation of BIP resulting from the morphology and anatomy characterization of binjai. This research method uses an EDR by Plomp that is limited to the prototype stage and using Tessmer's formative evaluation. The subject of this research is the experts and users who will evaluate BIP. The data collection technique is a questionnaire distributed to the research subjects. The validity test showed that the developed BIP was categorized as very valid with score 85.42%. Readability the development BIP is categorized very well with score 95.83%.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of substantive testing in detecting fraud within cash and financial instrument accounts by comparing two audit cases Jiwasraya and BPK Sulawesi. Employing a qualitative comparative case study approach, data were obtained from audit reports, official publications, and relevant secondary sources. The findings reveal that in the Jiwasraya case, substantive testing proved less effective due to weak risk assessment of investments and inadequate fair value testing. Meanwhile, in the BPK South Sulawesi case, the low effectiveness of substantive testing was mainly attributed to the audit’s administrative focus. This study underscores the importance of enhancing professional skepticism and deepening substantive procedures to strengthen fraud detection in audit practices.
