Abstract

Larval health management is a serious problem faced by hatcheries of cantang grouper (E. fuscoguttatus x E. lanceolatus) in order to avoid large financial losses due to larval death. Health Management of cantang grouper larvae includes larval rearing, larval feed management, larval disease control and water quality management. Primary data collection methods are active participation, observation and direct interviews. Secondary data collection by means of literature study. Cantang grouper larvae were reared in the hatchery to control the temperature and condition of the larvae. The ponds were sterilized with 3-5 ppm chlorine in the morning and 3-5 ppm thiosulfate in the afternoon. Then rinsed so that no residual chlorine. Larvae were reared from day 1 to day 45. Larvae were fed from 2 days old with Nannochloropsis occulata. Rotifers were given when the larvae were 2-3 days old with a density of 5 individuals/ml. Artemia was given when the larvae were 18 days old until the age of 40 days. Pellets are given when the larvae are 8-10 days old with a pellet size of level 1. The pellet size continues to increase according to the larval mouth opening until harvest. The disease that attacks the larvae is Viral Nervous Necrosis. The characteristics of larvae infected with VNN are reduced appetite, weak movement, larvae float on the surface and lie on the bottom of the pond. The bacteria that often attack larvae is Vibrio alginolyticus. Vibrio alginolyticus can be treated using drugs from natural ingredients. The temperature in the larval pond is 28-30oC and the salinity is 34-35 ppt. This temperature and salinity are still quite good for grouper larvae to live.

Abstract

Medicinal plants can be used as alternative prevention and treatment of fish diseases. Its use can be mixed in the feed, but must be by the dose so as not to interfere with fish health. Fish health can be evaluated by measuring the blood profile. The blood profile of this study includes hemoglobin, hematocrit, blood glucose, and total erythrocytes. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of adding Avicennia marina leaf extract as seen from the total erythrocytes, hemoglobin levels, hematocrit values, and blood glucose levels. The research method used was CRD consisting of 4 treatments and 5 individual replicates of tilapia. The addition of Avicennia marina extract to fish feed (1 g/kg; 1,5 g/kg; and 2 g/kg) had a total erythrocytes range of 0,995x106–2,658x106 cell/mm3, hemoglobin ranged from 8,3–11,6 g/dL, hematocrit ranged from 23.1–38,4 g/dL, and blood glucose ranged from 46–209 mg/dL. The results showed that the addition of Avicennia marina leaf extract had no significant effect (P>0,05) on the blood profile of fish as measured by total erythrocytes, hemoglobin, hematocrit, and glucose. Aquaculture water quality in the form of temperature and pH has the optimum value for tilapia cultivation.

Abstract

Tiger grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus) hatchery at the household scale has contributed to the increase in national grouper seed production. The main problem in tiger grouper cultivation is the availability of superior seeds. Where superior tiger grouper seeds must have fast growth, be resistant to new environments, low FCR, have perfect morphology and be resistant to. Superior seeds of tiger grouper can be seen from the value of Survival Rate (SR), where superior seeds will have a much higher SR when maintained. The purpose of this study was to determine the Survival Rate of tiger grouper hatchery in household-scale hatcheries located on the North Coast of Bali as the main parameter and water quality as a supporting parameter. Methods of data collection is done by using 4 ways: survey, active participation, observation, and interviews. Survival rate data analysis was carried out by performing calculations based on the SR calculation formula and analyzed descriptively. The results of observations of water quality are classified as good for the value of Salinity (33-35 ppt), Temperature (28-29.4 oC), and DO (6-6.5 ppm). While the pH value can be said to be not good for tiger grouper hatchery and rearing with a pH value of (7.3-7.4). The result of the calculation of the Survival Rate is 20% with a total of ± 24,000 seeds. From the percentage of survival rate, it can be said that the survival rate of tiger grouper larvae in this household-scale hatchery is still low. However, it should be noted that a low survival rate in grouper hatcheries does not always affect the value of profits and losses of a grouper hatchery business.

Abstract

In the first quarter of 2022 (1 January – 31 March) in Indonesia, there are problems related to the increase in the prices of basic necessities which can increase the amount of initial capital needed in a milkfish (Chanos-chanos) cultivation business. So it is necessary to conduct an initial simulation study of the feasibility analysis of milkfish cultivation to determine the capital and business feasibility for milkfish cultivation in the first quarter of 2022. The method used in this study is a library research method, where the data collection method is entirely with data. Secondary or literature study. Secondary data is collected by reviewing from references in the form of journals, books, and online articles that are still related. The calculation of business feasibility analysis is carried out by calculating investment costs, fixed costs, variable costs, calculating production costs, revenues, profits, BEP Rupiah, BEP Units, R/C Ratio, and PBP. Furthermore, an analysis of the supporting and inhibiting factors of the business as well as an analysis of the marketing strategy in the milkfish cultivation business was carried out. The results of the calculation of business feasibility simulations show that the production cost is Rp. 78.276.800, revenue is Rp. 1.344.000.000, profit is Rp. 950.861.600, Rupiah BEP is Rp. 192.549.566, which means the turning point will be achieved if sales reach Rp. 192.549,566. , BEP Unit is 9627 fish, which means the turning point will be reached if milkfish production reaches 9,627 fish. The R/C Ratio obtained is 1.7 and the PBP is 0.3 years, where the investment capital of this milkfish cultivation business will return within a period of 0.3 years or 3.6 months. Therefore, the milkfish cultivation business for the first quarter of 2022 can be said to be profitable and feasible to run.
