Abstract

This article explores Pangudarasa’s editorial texts in the Panjebar Semangat magazine by using a systemic theory of functional linguistics particularly an appraisal analysis of texts. The objectives of this research are (1) to identify the appraisal tools in Pangudarasa’s editorial texts in a Javanese magazine called Panjebar Semangat, and (2) to describe the perceptions of Pangudarasa’s editorial text writers in the Panjebar Semangat magazine. This descriptive qualitative research used a qualitative method along with a content analysis platform. The data pertaining to words, phrases, clauses, and sentences coincided with appraisal tools. The data source was derived from the Panjebar Semangat magazine, which was published on December 21, 2019 entitled Kasus Garuda, Wanci Kang Pas Kanggo Ngresiki BUMN. The data analysis used a method of referential matching tools to determine a phenomenon beyond the language. The results of data analysis show that (1) appraisal tools in the editorial texts of Pangudarasa in the Panjebar Semangat magazine dominantly present appreciation (42.55%), judgment (36.17%) and affect (21.28%), and (2) the pattern of writers' perceptions to support the Minister Erick Thohir's decision in handling the Garuda Airlines case. This support is reinforced by the use of language functions to influence others by assessing a case directly and authors of editorial texts have a tendency to tell sensitive things or issues mainly concerned with events in the community.

Abstract

Mantra yang digunakan masyarakat Jawa merupakan warisan leluhur yang lahir secara lisan. Mantra dianggap memiliki daya magis dalam setiap kata yang menyusunnya. Artikel ini mengulas mengenai variasi deiksis persona dan kekuatan kata yang ditimbulkan dalam komposisi mantra. Deiksis persona yang muncul adalah deiksis persona pertama dan ketiga. Pronomina persona pertama merujuk pada diri si perapal mantra, sedangkan pronomina persona ketiga merujuk pada sasaran, mitra tutur, seseorang yang menjadi panutan, dan sesuatu benda. Tujuan digunakannya variasi deiksis persona dalam sebuah mantra adalah untuk mendapatkan unsur estetis, selain itu pembuat mantra ingin memunculkan adanya daya magis dalam setiap diksinya.

Abstract

Stunting cases still often occur in the city of Surakarta, so the 'Sigrak Centingan' program was formed as an effort to reduce stunting. The program is running well, as evidenced by the data obtained there has been a decrease in the absence of stunting cases, especially in Pasar Kliwon Village. Based on this, the service carried out by Devotion  01 team aims to increase awareness of stunting and its prevention. Factors causing stunting in the Pasar Kliwon area are nutritional intake and low awareness of PHBS (Clean and Healthy Living Behavior). Devotion 01 team collaborates with posyandu cadres, PKK, residents, and local government through various work programs that can be carried out, including stunting socialization, posyandu, distribution of blood-added tablets, PHBS (Clean and Healthy Living Behavior), planting vegetable seeds, healthy Sunday, and waste reduction through eco-bricks. The results of the implementation of the work program indicate that the residents of Pasar Kliwon Village, especially young women, prospective brides, pregnant women, childbirth mothers, and breastfeeding mothers better understand the dangers of stunting and stunting prevention efforts can be carried out independently as early as possible.

Abstract

Peningkatan keterampilan digital pada peserta didik di sekolah dasar menjadi semakin penting di era Revolusi Industri 4.0. Tujuan artikel ini untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) dalam pelatihan coding menggunakan platform Scratch, yang diterapkan pada siswa kelas 5 di SDN Manahan. Pada pelatihan ini menyampaikan konsep dasar pemrograman dengan cara yang menyenangkan dan mudah dipahami. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan sumber data berupa partisipasi siswa dalam pelatihan coding. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung terhadap pelaksanaan pelatihan di kelas dan wawancara mengenai pengalaman siswa dalam belajar coding. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis induktif. Model PjBL dipilih untuk mendorong keterampilan pemecahan masalah dan berpikir kritis melalui pembuatan proyek seperti "Jumping Game". Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep pemrograman dasar dan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Meskipun terdapat tantangan dalam perbedaan kecepatan belajar, strategi diferensiasi yang diterapkan membantu mengatasi tantangan tersebut yang dapat mendorong kolaborasi dan rasa percaya diri siswa.

Abstract

This research was a qualitative descriptive research using a semiotic approach. This research aims to analyze the value of character education contained in the symbols in the Surakarta style Javanese bridal paes and its relevance as the Javanese language learning material for elementary school level. The symbols in Javanese bridal paes are a medium for transforming noble values containing Javanese cultural teachings for bridal couples in particular and Javanese society in general, especially the younger generation. This is closely related to character development based on local genius. Therefore, this research tries to describe the symbols in Surakarta style Javanese bridal paes as a manifestation of character education values. Each part in Javanese bridal paes is a representation of local wisdom  intended to be a medium for educating noble character. The main data collection techniques are direct observation, interviews, documentation of Javanese Surakarta style brides which are strengthened by documentation analysis. For the validity of the data, credibility techniques are used which are carried out by: 1) diligent observation, 2) triangulation of methods and sources, 3) peer discussion, 4) adequacy of references. The data validity technique uses theory triangulation and source triangulation. The data analysis technique in this research uses Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic analysis technique. The research results show that each part of the Surakarta style Javanese bridal paes is a symbol that contains noble Javanese cultural values which can be a guide for the bridal couple and relevan for Javanese Language Learning in Elementary Schools.

Abstract

Comparative historical linguistics can show changes in languages that have kinship relationships. Analysis carried out on comparative historical linguistics can be both synchronous and diachronic. Diachronically the Javanese language has changed from time to time, namely Old Javanese, Middle Javanese, and New Javanese which are still actively used by the speakers. This article focuses on examining changes in phonological aspects of Javanese based on a diachronic review. To analyze the innovation and phonological retention of Proto Austronesian in Javanese, the historical-comparative method is used. The findings contained in this article are: (1) the PAN phoneme reflex can produce regular phoneme change rules (primary rules) in addition to sporadic rules (secondary rules) ); (2) there is some retention and innovation on PAN etymon. The retention of the Javanese phoneme to PAN appears in several consonant phonemes such as * / p /, * / b /, * / z /, * / j /, and / q /, and some vowels such as / a /, / i /, and / u /. Meanwhile, other phonemes are experiencing innovation, both innovation in the form of substitution, split, metathesis, mergers, dissimilation, protesis, and reduplication. Phonological and lexical innovations are significantly more dominant than retention.Linguistik historis komparatif dapat menunjukkan perubahan-perubahan pada bahasa yang memiliki hubungan kekerabatan. Analisis yang dilakukan pada linguistik historis komparatif dapat secara sinkronis maupun diakronis. Secara diakronis bahasa Jawa mengalami perubahan dari masa ke masa yakni dimulai bahasa Jawa Kuno, kemudian bahasa Jawa Tengahan, dan sekarang berkembang bahasa Jawa Baru yang hingga kini masih aktif digunakan oleh penuturnya. Artikel ini berfokus mengkaji perubahan aspek-aspek fonologis pada bahasa Jawa berdasarkan tinjauan diakronis. Metode historis-komparatif digunakan dalam menganalisis fenomena yang terdapat dalam Bahasa jawa terkait inovasi dan retensi fonologis Proto Austronesia. Temuan yang terdapat dalam artikel ini berupa: (1) refleks fonem PAN dapat menghasilkan kaidah perubahan fonem yang teratur (kaidah primer) di samping kaidah sporadis (kaidah sekunder); (2) terdapat beberapa retensi dan inovasi terhadap etimon PAN. Retensi fonem Jawa terhadap PAN tampak pada beberapa fonem konsonan seperti */p/, */b/, */z/, */j/, dan /q/, serta beberapa vokal seperti /a/, /i/, dan /u/. Sementara itu, fonem- fonem lainnya mengalami inovasi, baik inovasi berupa substitusi, split, metatesis, merger, disimilasi, protesis, dan reduplikasi. Secara signifikan inovasi fonologis dan leksikal mendominasi daripada retensi.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to look at Serat Dongeng Anyariyosaken Lelampahanipun Kancil tedhakan Raden Mas Dayat Mukadam Nataseputra as an example of instilling character education values that can be applied in everyday life. This Serat follows Kancil from his birth to the end of his life. This Serat is interesting to study because it contains many character development values demonstrated by the character Kancil. The data used in this study are phrases, clauses, and sentences from Serat Dongeng Anyariyosaken Lelampahanipun Kancil that demonstrate character education. The data analysis technique used is data collection, data reduction, data writing, and conclusion drawing. This study took a descriptive qualitative approach. The results of the study show that the Kancil character has good characters that can be emulated, including 1) honesty; 2) religious; 3) creativity; 4) democratic; 5) peace; and 6) social care. Abstract

The introduction of Javanese script to the younger generation, especially high school students, has become a challenge in today's digital era. Lack of interest and less interactive learning methods have led to low literacy in Javanese script. Therefore, this study aims to develop the "Sekrebel" application based on folklore as an interactive learning medium that appeals to high school students. This application combines educational and entertainment elements through folklore presented in Javanese script and Latin transliteration. The study results show that using this application significantly improves students' understanding and skills in reading and writing Javanese script.

Abstract

The use of Javanese script in Javanese communication is increasingly experiencing an alarming degradation. Appropriate preservation strategies need to be implemented so that Javanese characters can be preserved and widely used again. The right effort is to carry out training in reading and writing Javanese script to the younger generation. The training activities are adapted to the cognitive level of the subject, namely learning while playing. This training was conducted at Sanggar Pelangi Surakarta with elementary school-age children as the subjects. The purpose of the training is to introduce and educate the younger generation to be able to read and write Javanese characters properly and correctly. The training was conducted with the help of ular tangga media which is recognized as accurate in optimizing the absorption of material for elementary school-age children. The training was carried out with the stages of preparation, delivery of material, playing ular tangga modified by including Javanese script elements, working on LKDP, and filling out questionnaires. The result was a significant increase in the trainees' understanding of how to read and write Javanese characters properly and correctly.
