Abstract

The development of digital technology makes it easy for humans to do activities, including compliance with the requirement of voice, data, and video communication in office buildings. Infrastructures are a primary consideration for a reliable connection, large-capacity, and stable communication lines. Recently, Fiber-optic communication systems are now the backbone of information signal delivery technology. This paper proposes a design of optical fiber transmission media for deployment in urban office buildings. It has been called fiber to the building (FTTB), which uses a fiber optic communication system to support the availability of multimedia network in an office area. A typical office building in an urban area has a multilevel structure that is used by various companies with multimedia network access services to support business activities. This study considers XGPON technology as a fiber optic-based broadband access technology that is deemed appropriate to the needs of the use of a multimedia network. The design begins with conducting a data collection survey. The next is the chosen device components based on the estimated distribution of the number of users. There are three parameters will be calculated include Power Link Budget (PLB), Rise Time Budget (RTB), and Bit Error Rate (BER), to determine the design feasibility. Based on PLB, RTB, and BER data, the proposed fiber to the building (FTTB) can meet the parameters to be achieved in the design, namely PLB of -27,24 dBm for downstream and -11,68 dBm for upstream, the value of is 0,049 ns, and value of BER is 0,186 x 10-1085. The design of FTTB can meet the requirement of users with a bandwidth of 9014,4 Mbps for 1200 users.

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are one of the leading health problems that occur in the adult people. One strategy to improve self-management of NCDs during the COVID-19 pandemic is to use a smartphone-based application. This literature review is structured to describe applications smartphone-based to improve self-management of NCDs. The databases in e-resources included Wiley Online, ScienceDirect, and Cambridge Core from 2010-2021. A literature search resulted in 15 articles that focused on using applications as a medium for improving self-management of NCDs. Various studies have shown the benefits of the use of smartphone-based applications to improve self-management strategies, including (1) the application to count the physical activity score; (2) the self-management application to manage nutritional diets; (3) the application of pain evaluation; (4) the application of weight management, and (5) the application of self-disease management record. The existence of a smartphone-based application can reduce the limitations in the process of implementing and evaluating self-management of non-communicable diseases.

Abstract

Older adults experience an aging process that impacts a decrease in physiological function. Joint pain is one of the negative consequences of decreased physiological function. Older adults need a continuum of care to deal with the perceived vulnerability due to the effects of pain. The family has a role in self-management at home, but sometimes families experience difficulties in the mentoring process because of their high productivity outside the home. The research aims to explain monitoring on the pain scale, knowledge, skills, self-efficacy of older adults, and the level of family independence based on Information Technology (IT) platform. The method used is a case report on an older adult and the family for two months of monitoring. The intervention consisted of 4 meetings using psychoeducational techniques, cognitive restructuring, demonstration, and problem-solving. The result showed a decrease in the pain scale and an increase in the knowledge, skills, and self-efficacy of older adults. In addition, the result showed increased family independence after intervention. The family has an essential role in accompanying older adults during the joint pain management process. This result is expected to be a recommendation for health workers to maximize the part of the family in treating pain management in older adults.

Abstract

Komunikasi jarak jauh memerlukan desain antena yang memiliki karakteristik pita lebar (wideband). Antena wideband memiliki karakteristik dapat menerima frekuensi yang lebar (wideband), salah satu jenis antena yang mendukung teknologi dalam antena sistem komunikasi satelit adalah antena mikrostip. Antena microstrip dengan dirancang dua setengah circular patch mampu bekerja optimal pada frekuensi 4,5GHz – 8,4GHz dengan lebar bandwidth sebesar 4000MH. Penggunaan dua setegah circular patch jauh lebih efektif pada saat simulasi return loss yakni optimal hingga -25dB. Patch dengan sudut circular mampu memperbesar lebar bandwidth jika dibandingkan dengan patch berbentuk rectangular. Dimensi antena perlu digeser lagi agar frekuensi antena bisa benar-benar tepat pada frekuensi 4GHz – 8GHz. Perlu dipertimbangkan juga dimensi antena akan lebih besar jika harus menggeser frekuensi kerja.

Abstract

Indonesia adalah negara beriklim tropis dengan 2 musim yang memiliki kelebihan tanah subur sehingga menjadi faktor dalam bidang pertanian. Keanekaragaman hayati menjadi potensi besar dalam kesejahteran manusia salah satunya yaitu budidaya ragam jenis jamur. Jamur memiliki nilai ekonomis yang tinggi namun dalam proses budidanya masih tergolong sulit. Budidaya yang dilakukan masih menggunakan alat konvensional sehingga dalam proses produksi masih berlangsung lama dan sulit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membangun sistem kerja steamer baglog jamur hitam dengan metode fuzzy untuk mengontrol suhu. Sistem yang dibuat dengan mengatur besar kecillnya api agar segera mencapai suhu ideal yang 100? dan mempertahankan suhu tersebut hinngga mencapai waktu yang ditentukan. Penggunaan stremaer baglog jamur menggunakan metode fuzzy sangat efektif dalam proses sterilisasi baglog dimana eror yang dihasilkan sebesar 0,02% tanpa terjadi overshoot dan mampu meminimalisir bahan bakar. Sehingga pertumbuhan miesselium bibit jamur menggunkan steamer baglog dengan metode fuzzy memiliki bobot lebih besar dalam waktu pertumbuhan 4 minggu yakni sebesar 1,9 ons. Implementasi dari alat ini merupakan bagian dari kegitan pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan pada kelompok petani jamur di Kab. Jember.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of the physical coding of LoRa communications on monitoring water pipelines. Optimizing the performance of packet receivers in the LoRa communication system using coding on the physical parameters SF (spreading factor), BW (bandwidth), and CR (coding rate). The detection system consists of 3 sensor nodes, 3 intermediate nodes, and 1 receiver node. Data from these sensors is sent to a cloud database. The SX1278 LoRa communication module works using a 433 MHz frequency. During the transmission process on the LoRa communication system, optimization is carried out for receiving data packets using the parameter coding method of physical spread factors, bandwidth, and coding rate. As a result of the research, it is shown that the greater the value of the third parameter (SF, BW, and CR), such as improvement in packet reception performance, improvement in bit security, and increasing packet resistance to various disturbances in transmission, but the time required for sending data be longer. The optimal parameters for detecting pipe leak locations include SF 10, BW 500 KHz, and CR 4/8. The LoRa SX1278 scenario is optimal with a distance of 400 meters, where packet and byte reception are obtained 100%.

Abstract

Dengan perkembangan teknologi yang pesat, kebutuhan akan sumber energi alternatif semakin mendesak karena keterbatasan bahan bakar fosil. Energi matahari menjadi salah satu solusi potensial karena sifatnya yang melimpah, efisien, dan ramah lingkungan. Panel surya, yang mengubah energi matahari menjadi listrik, masih memiliki efisiensi rendah, sehingga perlu teknologi yang dapat meningkatkan kinerjanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendesain dan mengimplementasikan sistem tracking dual axis pada panel surya 50 Wp, guna membandingkan daya dan efisiensi yang dihasilkan dengan sistem non-tracking. Penelitian dilakukan melalui dua tahapan, yaitu perancangan sistem dan pengujian. Pada sistem tracking, panel surya dilengkapi sensor cahaya yang mengarahkan panel mengikuti posisi matahari secara optimal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa panel dengan sistem tracking menghasilkan daya rata-rata 4,28 Watt, lebih besar dibandingkan panel statis yang hanya 3,91 Watt. Efisiensi panel tracking juga lebih tinggi, dengan rata-rata 17,19%, dibandingkan efisiensi panel statis sebesar 14,27%. Ini membuktikan bahwa sistem tracking dual axis lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan kinerja panel surya, menghasilkan daya dan efisiensi yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan sistem statis

Abstract

In current environmental conditions, air quality is often underestimated even though it is crucial for the survival of living organisms. Good air quality that contains sufficient oxygen for breathing and photosynthesis, as well as stable carbon dioxide levels, is essential for humans, animals, and plants. Pollution factors such as motor vehicle exhaust, factory emissions, and waste burning can reduce air quality and thus have an indirect impact on the health of living beings. This research focuses on air pollution caused by carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, using the Mamdani fuzzy method to determine uncertainty and vagueness values. An IoT system with two LoRa devices is used to monitor air quality, with data from sensors represented via MATLAB using fuzzy logic for more accurate results. LoRa device integration with Arduino and ESP32 can be used for accurate sensor reading and communication, ensuring proper data transmission between nodes and gateways for real-time monitoring and comparison of gas parameters at different locations. The reading results from the sensors and the monitoring results on the Blynk platform show identical values with 0% error from monitoring. For the percentage of ISPU values from simulation results in MATLAB compared to manual calculations, there is a difference of 1.12% when compared with the reading values from the sensors.
