Abstract

This study employs a quantitative approach with an experimental design. The main objective is to determine the influence of interactive learning media on the Fundamentals of Electronics among students studying electrical measuring instruments, electronics, and instrumentation at SMK Negeri 2 Payakumbuh. The research population consists of students from the X TAV 1 and X TAV 2 classes at SMK N 2 Payakumbuh for the academic year 2023/2024, totaling 61 students. The research instrument used was a set of objective questions administered at the end of the learning process after each treatment. The results indicate that the calculated t-value exceeds the critical t-value (4.60 > 1.67). This implies that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of interactive learning media significantly affects students' learning outcomes in the study of electrical measuring instruments, electronics, and instrumentation at SMK Negeri 2 Payakumbuh.

Abstract

This research explored the impact of implementing Tinkercad-assisted learning media on the learning outcomes of 11th-grade Electronics Engineering students at SMK Negeri 5 Padang, focusing on embedded system programming. Employing a quasi-experimental design with a Non-equivalent Control Group Design method, the study comprised an experimental group using Tinkercad and a control group undergoing traditional direct learning. The analysis of pretest and posttest data revealed a significant difference between the two groups, with the experimental group exhibiting an 11.5% improvement in learning outcomes. The hypothesis test, employing the t-test, yielded a t-value of 2.231, surpassing the critical t-value (1.708). Consequently, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted. The study concludes that the implementation of Tinkercad-assisted learning media had a significantly positive influence on the learning outcomes of Electronics Engineering students. These findings contribute to both practical and theoretical understanding regarding the effectiveness of Tinkercad in enhancing student learning outcomes in embedded system programming. It is recommended that further emphasis be placed on integrating Tinkercad into the curriculum to enrich students’ learning experiences and elevate the overall educational quality at SMK Negeri 5 Padang.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of the problem-based learning (PBL) model with the focus group discussion (FGD) method on students’ learning outcomes in the basic vocational subjects at SMK Negeri 1 Sumatera Barat. We employed a quasi-experimental research method, utilizing two sample groups: the experimental group (class X E2), which implemented the PBL model with the FGD method, and the control group (class X E1), which received direct instruction. We collected learning outcome data through pretest and posttest assessments and analyzed the mean differences between the two groups using a t-test. The study’s results revealed a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes in the experimental group, with a mean posttest score of 87.48, compared to the control group, which scored 78.48. The hypothesis test showed a significant difference between the two groups, with a calculated t-value (4.086) exceeding the critical t-value (1.66). This indicates that the implementation of the PBL model with the FGD method has a positive influence on students’ learning outcomes. These findings underscore the potential of the PBL model as an effective instructional strategy for enhancing students’ learning outcomes and provide a foundation for further developments in education.

Abstract

Education plays a vital role in developing students' potential. With the advancement of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), innovations in education have evolved, particularly in creating more effective, inspiring, and motivating media, methods, and learning strategies. This research aims to develop a learning media using Articulate Storyline for the "Digital Circuits" material, targeting 11th-grade students in the Industrial Electronics Engineering program at SMK Negeri 1 Padang. The Research and Development (R&D) method used the 4-D development model: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. Validation by two material experts resulted in a score of 91.67%, categorized as "Very Valid," while media validation achieved an average score of 94.16%, also rated as "Very Valid." A practicality test with 15 students indicated a practicality rate of 87.90%, categorized as "Very Practical." These results suggest that the developed learning media is feasible for use in the classroom and effective in enhancing students' learning experiences.

Abstract

An Automatic Salted Fish Dryer controlled by a microcontroller has been made based on a drying process that takes a long time, which is around 3-4 days and the weather is also sometimes unpredictable, thus inhibiting the productivity of making salted fish. The purpose of this study is to design a salted fish dryer that can work automatically to speed up the drying process of salted fish by maintaining a temperature that does not exceed 45 ° C to obtain a salted fish humidity of 40%. The research method starts from making a prototype and measuring system performance. The results of measuring the performance of drying salted fish using an automatic salted fish dryer are faster than the traditional method which requires a drying time of 3-4 days. By using an automatic dryer, it only takes 3-5 hours of drying and can reduce fish humidity by up to 40%, in accordance with SNI with a maximum drying temperature of 45 ° C. The DHT22 sensor is used to measure temperature and humidity, which is then displayed on the LCD. Overall, the tool can function well. Suggestions for further research, Hybrid energy sources can be added and condition monitoring can be done via the Internet of things (IoT).

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of learning motivation and student worksheets (LKPD) on students’ academic achievement in the subject of Computer and Network Engineering at a vocational high school. The research was motivated by the observation that student learning outcomes remained in the moderate category, potentially due to insufficient motivation and suboptimal use of instructional materials. This study aimed to (1) examine the relationship between learning motivation and learning outcomes, (2) analyze the relationship between LKPD and learning outcomes, and (3) assess the combined effect of learning motivation and LKPD on student achievement. A quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design was employed, involving 36 Grade XI students in the Computer and Network Engineering program. Data were collected through validated questionnaires and documented mid-semester exam scores. The findings revealed a strong and statistically significant correlation between learning motivation and learning outcomes (r = 0.713, R² = 0.509), a moderate but significant relationship between LKPD and learning outcomes (r = 0.338, R² = 0.114), and a strong combined relationship between learning motivation and LKPD with learning outcomes (r = 0.716, R² = 0.513). These results highlight the critical role of both psychological and instructional factors in shaping academic performance in vocational education.
