Abstract

Komposit nanopartikel kalsium titanate (CaTiO3) berhasil disintesis melalui metode solid-state dan proses kalsinasi menggunakan kalsium karbonat (CaCO3) dan titanium oksida (TiO2) anatase. Bahan awal ditetapkan dalam perbandingan molar CaCO3/TiO2 yakni (1:1), (1:5), dan (1:7). Kedua bahan campuran CaCO3 dan TiO2 dilarutkan dan dihomogenkan melalui pengadukan. Campuran larutan yang telah homogen, diendapkan, dikeringkan dan dikalsinasi menggunakan suhu 900oC. Morfologi dan sifat mikro struktural dari bahan CaTiO3 dikarakterisasi menggunakan scanning electron microscopy (SEM) dan analisis energy dispersive X-ray (EDX). Komposit nanopartikel CaTiO3 selanjutnya digunakan untuk fotodegradasi zat pewarna Rhodamine B (RhB) di bawah sinar lampu UV. Hasil investigasi menunjukkan bahwa mekanisme penyerapan (adsorbsi) RhB dan sifat fotokatalitik dari CaTiO3 sangat tergantung pada komposisi bahan awal. Studi kinetika menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas fotokatalitik reaksi CaTiO3 terhadap RhB mengikuti model kinetika orde pertama. Lebih lanjut, 100mg RhB dapat terdegradasi sebesar 97.37% 23.34% pada penggunaan komposisi CaTiO3 sebanyak 0.5 hingga 2.0g dalam waktu 40menit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fotokatalis berbasis komposit CaTiO3 sangat efektif dalam mendegradasi zat pewarna RhB. Hal ini dikaitkan dengan besarnya luas permukaan aktif katalis serta kemampuan menghasilkan ion radikal pendegradasi RhB dari proses pemisahan muatan.  Kata kunci: CaTiO3; fotodegradasi ; fotokatalisis ; pewarna tekstil ; rhodamine B DOI : https://doi.org/10.33005/jurnal_tekkim.v14i2.2023

Abstract

Currently, predictions of orange fruit yield in an orchard are still done manually, namely by sampling manually to count the number of oranges on the tree. This method is not effective and the accuracy of predictions cannot be guaranteed. Automation in the process of counting citrus fruit on trees to predict yield can be done with computer vision using artificial intelligence models for object detection. One of the proposed model solutions that can be used for object detection is by using You Only Look Once (YOLO) architecture. However, the performance of the YOLO model for different varieties of orange trees in Indonesia is not yet known. Therefore, in this research, the development of the YOLOv5 model was carried out to quickly count orange fruit on trees of different varieties including the stages of image capture, image resizing, segmentation, model training with hyperparameters such as batch size and epoch, as well as model evaluation. In this study, the primary image dataset taken consisted of images of orange trees with two different cultivars, namely Pontianak Siamese oranges and Terigas Tangerines which have different characteristics. Then the YOLOv5 model is trained using labeled image data. The YOLOv5 model is trained with variations of hyperparameters and then the results are compared. The best model results in Siam Pontianak have a single label configuration in batch size 4 with parameters Mean Average Precision (mAP50), accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score which produces a value of 0.88; 0.712; 0.853; 0.822; and 0.8372. Meanwhile, the best model results in Keprok Terigas have a single label configuration in batch size 10 with parameters Mean Average Precision (mAP50), accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score which produces a value of 0.933; 0.75; 0.913; 0.878; and 0.8951.

Abstract

One of the reasons in increasing water turbidity in nile tilapia aquaculture is the presence of spoilage in fish feed that is easily disintegrate and decompose as organic matters in the water. Therefore, a thin layer or edible coating is needed to coat the tilapia feed to slow down the decomposition of the feed due to water absorption. The main ingredients for tilapia feed are tapioca flour added with beeswax solution and glycerol as a plasticizer. In this study, the glycerol concentrations used were 3%, 5%, and 7%, and the beeswax concentrations used were 0.25% w/v, 0.50 % w/v, and 0.75 % w/v. The purpose of this study was analysed the effect of plasticizers and beeswax on the characteristics of the edible coating. The method used to coat tilapia feed is the dipping method, where the product is dipped in a coating solution. The results of the research can be demonstrated by performing a and functional group test using FTIR spectra, contact angle test, and water resistance test of coated fish feed.

Abstract

Limbah kulit biji kopi dan limbah rumah tangga menjadi perhatian utama dalam pengabdian ini yang memiliki potensi untuk dijadikan sumber daya bernilai melalui penggunaan ekoenzim. Kegiatan pengabdian ini melakukan diseminasi ekoenzim limbah kulit biji kopi dan limbah rumah tangga di Kecamatan Tirtoyudo, Kabupaten Malang. Tujuannya adalah memperkenalkan dan mengimplementasikan ekoenzim sebagai solusi inovatif untuk pengelolaan limbah organik pada tingkat masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif dengan melibatkan kelompok masyarakat setempat dalam proses diseminasi. Kegiatan pengabdian meliputi workshop, pelatihan, dan kegiatan edukatif lainnya. Tim pengabdian berinteraksi dengan kelompok tani, kelompok lansia mandiri, kelompok PKK, dan masyarakat untuk memberikan pemahaman tentang manfaat ekoenzim dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan. Pelatihan juga dilakukan dalam pembuatan ekoenzim dari limbah kulit biji kopi dan limbah rumah tangga, seperti kulit buah dan sisa sayur, mengubah limbah yang kurang bermanfaat menjadi sumber daya bernilai. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pengelolaan limbah organik secara efektif dan ramah lingkungan. Implementasi ekoenzim di kehidupan sehari-hari membawa perubahan positif. Penggunaan ekoenzim membantu mengurangi dampak negatif limbah terhadap lingkungan. Kontribusi inovatif melalui diseminasi ekoenzim ini diharapkan dapat diakui dan dimanfaatkan oleh berbagai pihak guna mencapai pembangunan yang berkelanjutan dan, sejalan dengan alam.

Abstract

Oranges (Citrus sp.) are one of the most abundant agricultural commodities in Indonesia. One of the popular local citruses is Batu Tangerine 55. Harvesting tangerines begins 252 days after the flowers bloom. Conventionally, we still determine the level of maturity by observing the color, shape, and hardness. The results of manual grouping tend to be subjective and less accurate. Destructive testing could be carried out and provide objective results; however, it would require sampling and damaging the fruits. Computer vision could be used to evaluate the maturity level of the fruit non-destructively. Dual imaging computer vision, i.e., reflectance-fluorescence mode, could be used to enhance the accuracy of the prediction. This study aims to develop a classification model and predict the physico-chemical characteristics of Batu Tangerine 55. Destructive testing is still being carried out to determine the value of TPT, the degree of acidity, and the firmness of the fruit. Non-destructive testing was carried out to obtain reflectance and fluorescence images. Once we obtain the destructive and non-destructive data, we will incorporate them into the classification and prediction models. The machine learning method for maturity classification uses three models, namely KNN, SVM, and Random Forest. The best results on the reflectance data (RGB) SVM model resulted in an accuracy of 1 for training data and 0.97 for testing data. The maturity parameter prediction method uses the PLS method. The best results for the predicted Brix/Acidity ratio R2 parameter are 0.81 and RMSE 3.4.

Abstract

The effect of biochar supplementation with different particle size on biogas production in two-stage anaerobic digestion of white bread waste was carried out on a laboratory scale using a 100 mL bioreactor. The supplementation of biochar variations with particle sizes <63 µm, <125 µm, <149 µm, <250 µm, and <500 µm and the addition of different biochar concentration of 5 g/L, 15 g/L, and 25 g/L were investigated to obtain optimal concentrations. Mixed cultures were incubated at 35 °C for 40 days. Daily gas production, pH and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) were measured using the daily water displacement method. The results showed that the particle size of biochar < 500 µm with a biochar concentration of 5 g/L increased biogas production by 60% and resulted in gas accumulation of 4,240.03 mL/L. CH4, It has proven that biochar increased pH in the mixture. COD concentration decreased from 9,670 mg/L to 1,640 mg/L.

Abstract

Supercapacitors have an advantage in the form of a higher specific capacitance than conventional capacitors. This alternative is the right idea if it is used to solve the problem of using hybrid energy storage demand. This study aims to analyze the variation in the ratio between activator and carbon nanotubes (Cnnts) that function as electrodes. Electrodes are one of the constituent components of supercapacitors, so they are important to review. Electrodes in the form of Cnnts activated using H2SO4 and HNO3 were analyzed through SEM and FTIR characterization. The activation process produces mesoporous size on the electrode. The activation method is also able to form aromatic compounds that are important for heat stability and electrical conductivity.

Abstract

Chlorella vulgaris is a widely studied microalga due to its applications in food, pharmaceutical, and bioenergy sectors. Traditional harvesting methods often require chemical agents and energy-intensive processes. This study evaluates and compares two membrane-based harvesting technologies—Forward Osmosis (FO) and Ultrafiltration (UF) on key performance parameters: water flux, reverse solute flux (RSF), membrane fouling, biomass concentration, and energy/cost efficiency. The FO process, operated with varying NaCl draw solution concentrations (3–5 M), achieved maximum fluxes of 1735.3 LMH (FS) and 1930.4 LMH (DS), with the highest biomass yield of 10.8 mg/L. The UF process, using PVDF membranes, reached a peak flux of 4367.8 LMH and higher membrane fouling. While UF showed faster dewatering with lower electrical energy (50.6W vs. 136W), FO demonstrated lower fouling and potential for continuous sustainable operation. These findings inform optimization strategies for scalable, energy-efficient microalgae harvesting systems.

Abstract

AbstrakStroberi segar merupakan salah satu komoditas buah di Desa Tulungrejo, Kecamatan Bumiaji, Kota Batu. Biasanya, petani stroberi menjual stroberi segar kepada konsumen. Namun, singkatnya masa simpan stroberi menyebabkan petani membuang stroberi yang tidak laku. Hal ini dikarenakan jika menyimpan stroberi di dalam freezer, maka akan mengubah sifat fisik buah. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka dilaksanakan diseminasi pembuatan dan aplikasi edible coating untuk memperpanjang umur simpan stroberi di Kelompok Tani Stroberi Desa Tulungrejo. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan kepada anggota kelompok tani tentang metode yang dapat memperpanjang umur simpan stroberi tanpa merusak teksturnya. Diseminasi ini dilaksanakan berdasarkan metode Community-based research, dimana anggota Kelompok Tani Stroberi terlibat langsung dari awal hingga akhir kegiatan. Tahap pengabdian ini meliputi diskusi dengan ketua kelompok untuk memilah masalah, tinjau lapangan, uji coba pembuatan dan performa edible coating, pelatihan pembuatan edible coating, dan evaluasi kegiatan. Awal sebelum diseminasi, sebanyak 53% anggota kelompok tani tidak mengetahui edible coating dan manfaatnya terhadap umur simpan stroberi. Setelah kegiatan diseminasi berlangsung, sebanyak 76% anggota mengetahui edible coating, dan 94% mengetahui cara pembuatan edible coating untuk memperpanjang umur simpan stroberi. Kata kunci: community-based research; edible coating; kitosan; stroberi; umur simpan. AbstractStrawberries are fruit commodity in Desa Tulungrejo, Bumiaji District, Batu City. Usually, strawberry farmers sell fresh strawberries to consumers. However, the short shelf life of strawberries causes farmers to discard unsold strawberries. If strawberries are kept in the freezer in order to prolong their shelf life, it will change the physical properties of the fruit. Due to this phenomenon, dissemination was carried out on the preparation and application of edible coating to extend the shelf life of strawberries in the Kelompok Tani Stroberi in Desa Tulungrejo. The purpose of this disssemination is to provide the members of Kelompok Tani with knowledge about a method that can prolong the shelf life of strawberries without compromising their texture. This dissemination was based on the Community-based Research method, where members of the Kelompok Tani Stroberi were directly involved from the beginning to the end of the activity. This community service includes discussions with the group leader to sort out problems, field inspections, trials on preparation and performance of edible coating, dissemination on making edible coatings, and evaluation of activities. Before dissemination, members of farmer group did not know about edible coating and its benefits on the shelf life of strawberries, with percentages of 53% of members. After the dissemination activity, 76% of members knew about edible coating, and 94% ones knew how to make edible coating to extend the shelf life of strawberries. Keywords: community-based research; chitosan; edible coating; shelf-life; strawberry.
