Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the performance of teachers in learning SMP Negeri in Bengkalis Regency. The population sample in this study is amounted to 56 people. They are all teachers who are Civil Servants who teach at Bengkalis Regency Public Junior High Schools consisting of Public Junior High Schools in Bukit Batu District and State Junior High Schools in Bandar Laksamana District. Data was collected using a questionnaire. The data analysis used in this research is descriptive quantitative and path analysis. The results of the study show: 1) the work climate has an effect on teacher job satisfaction by 43.1%; 2) work motivation has an effect on teacher job satisfaction by 42.5%; 3) work climate has an effect on teacher performance by 35.3%; 4) work motivation has an effect on teacher performance by 32.7%; 5) job satisfaction has an effect on teacher performance by 26.0%; 6) work climate has an effect on teacher performance through job satisfaction of 11.2%; 7) work motivation has an effect on teacher performance through job satisfaction of 11.0%. The meaning is that if the work climate has good quality, is comfortable, and pleasant, it will lead to satisfaction for a teacher, and this will trigger the teacher's enthusiasm in teaching which will have an impact on improving teacher performance.

Abstract

Background: Extra Pulmonary Tuberculosis (EPTB) is Tuberculosis infection in organs other than the lungs, like pleura, lymph nodes, abdomen, genitourinary tract, skin, joints and bones, or meninges. The Diagnosis of EPTB is still challenging because symptoms of EPTB is vary, location EPTB is an inaccessible site, and paucibacillary smear. We wanted to know the Mycobacterium tuberculosis identification using the qPCR method on samples of EPTB suspects. Methods: This research was a descriptive research with laboratory experiments. Subjects in this study were all cases of suspected EPTB with clinically diagnosed, thoraks radiographs, colonoscopy, and formalin fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE). DNA extraction was carried out according to  PureLink® Genomic dna extraction kit instructions. The PCR volume 20 ul with 2x QuantiNova SYBR Green PCR Kit, M.tuberculosis Primer IS 6110, and DNA Sample. QPCR temperatures was done with predenaturation at 95 °C for 3 minutes, and followed 45 cycles, consist of denaturation at 95 °C for 15 seconds, annealing at 60 °C for 30 seconds dan extenstion at 72 °C for 30 seconds. PCR was performed with positive and negative controls, and data analysis was based on positive and negative ct controls. Results: From 30 suspect EPTB samples, there are males (56,67%), with age 36-55 yo (50%), site of samples most from gastrointestines (70%), and there are 6 samples (20%) with positive qPCR. Conclusion: qPCR methods can be used for EPTB diagnosis.

Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis is a contagious infectious lung disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This disease is one of the health burdens in Indonesia. Its treatment takes a long time and requires a strong commitment in completing the treatment phase. One of the factors that influence the success of treatment and prevention of pulmonary tuberculosis is the level of knowledge of patients and their families. This community service activity was carried out through counseling and hands-on practice on good cough etiquette. There were 26 participants consisting of patients and families of pulmonary tuberculosis patients in the pulmonary polyclinic room of Raden Mattaher Jambi Hospital. This service has been carried out and went well. It is expected that patients and families can implement the knowledge gained in order to increase treatment compliance and prevent further transmission of pulmonary tuberculosis.

Abstract

Multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) poses a significant challenge to TB control efforts in Indonesia, primarily due to its complex, long-term treatment and significant drug side effects. To date, there is no comprehensive evaluation data on treatment outcomes and quality of life of MDR-TB patients at Raden Mattaher Regional Hospital, Jambi Province. This study aims to evaluate treatment outcomes and health-related quality of life in MDR-TB patients, as well as to identify predictors influencing therapy outcomes. This study used an observational   design with a retrospective approach, analyzing medical records of MDR-TB patients from 2020 to 2024. The WHOQOL-BREF instrument was used to measure quality of life. Bivariate and multivariate analyses were conducted to evaluate the association between patient characteristics and treatment outcomes. Most MDR-TB patients demonstrated successful treatment outcomes, but quality of life in the physical (score 45.2) and environmental (score 48.5) domains was relatively low. Side effects of second-line drugs, such as nausea, neuropathy, and hearing loss, contributed to the low physical domain scores. Multivariate test results showed that comorbid diabetes mellitus (DM) was a significant predictor of treatment outcomes (p = 0.007). The quality of life of MDR-TB patients at Raden Mattaher Regional Hospital in Jambi remains low, primarily influenced by side effects of therapy and the presence of comorbidities such as DM, which have been shown to impact treatment outcomes. More integrated interventions between TB management and comorbidities are urgently needed. Patients should be educated about side effects and the importance of treatment adherence. Hospitals are advised to improve side effect monitoring and integrate comorbidity management.
