Abstract

This study designed and evaluated an automated trading system, or Expert Advisor (EA), for the XAU/USD instrument that integrates a trend-following strategy with a disciplined risk management approach. The system utilizes Bollinger Bands and the Average Directional Index for trading signals, and applies Oscar's Grind Money Management for position management. The EA's performance was tested on the MetaTrader 5 platform in two timeframe scenarios, H1 and H4, through backtesting over three years and real-time testing over one month. The findings consistently show that the strategy on the H4 timeframe significantly outperforms the H1 timeframe in both historical simulations and real-world testing, demonstrating higher stability, greater efficiency, and more controlled risk. Statistical tests also confirmed a significant difference in the final balance accumulation between the simulated and real-world environments. It was concluded that the use of the H4 timeframe proved highly effective for this strategy in filtering market noise and improving trading signal quality.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Expert Advisor (EA) pada platform MetaTrader 5 menggunakan kombinasi indikator Fibonacci Retracement dan Relative Strength Index (RSI) yang telah dioptimasi untuk pasangan mata uang AUD/USD. Latar belakang penelitian didasarkan pada kebutuhan trader untuk mengurangi ketergantungan pada keputusan emosional dan meningkatkan konsistensi strategi trading di pasar forex yang dinamis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model Rapid Application Development (RAD), meliputi tahapan perencanaan, perancangan, pengembangan, pengujian, dan implementasi. Data yang digunakan berasal dari backtesting periode 1 Januari 2019 hingga 31 Desember 2024 dan pengujian real-time selama satu bulan pada akun advantage broker FXTM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa optimasi parameter indikator meningkatkan akurasi sinyal dan profitabilitas EA, serta menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil backtesting dan real-time testing pada beberapa metrik kinerja. Kesimpulannya, kombinasi Fibonacci Retracement dan RSI yang dioptimasi efektif dalam menghasilkan strategi trading otomatis yang adaptif dan konsisten di pasar forex

Abstract

Penelitian ini merinci perancangan, pengembangan, dan evaluasi kinerja sebuah ExpertAdvisor (EA) pada platform MetaTrader 5 yang menerapkan strategi Breakout Multifilterpada instrumen XAUEUR untuk mengatasi masalah konsistensi dan objektivitas dalamtrading manual. Menggunakan metodologi Research and Development (R&D), strategi EAyang mengintegrasikan Bollinger Bands, EMA, dan RSI diuji secara ketat pada timeframeH1 dan H4 melalui backtesting pada data historis tiga tahun (2022-2025) serta pengujianreal-time selama satu bulan, dengan Uji-T statistik untuk memvalidasi hasilnya. Temuanutama menunjukkan dikotomi kinerja yang krusial: Skenario H1, meskipun unggul dalambacktesting, gagal total di lingkungan pasar nyata, sedangkan Skenario H4, meskipun lebihlemah dalam simulasi, terbukti tangguh dan profitabel dalam pengujian real-time.Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa timeframe H4 merupakan implementasi yang lebihandal dan direkomendasikan karena stabilitasnya yang superior, sekaligus menegaskanperan tak tergantikan dari pengujian real-time dalam memverifikasi strategi perdaganganotomatis

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi finansial dalam era Revolusi Industri 4.0 mendorongpeningkatan penggunaan sistem perdagangan otomatis (Expert Advisor/EA) dipasar forex. Penelitian ini berfokus pada pengembangan dan optimasi EA berbasisindikator Relative Strength Index (RSI) dan Moving Average (MA) denganpenerapan Adaptive Risk Management pada pasangan XAU/USD, yang dikenalmemiliki volatilitas tinggi sebagai aset safe-haven. Kajian pustaka menekankankeunggulan RSI sebagai indikator momentum serta MA sebagai penentu tren, yang dipadukan untuk meningkatkan akurasi sinyal. Metode penelitian menggunakanpendekatan Research and Development (R&D) dengan model spiral, meliputi tahapperencanaan, pengembangan, pengujian, dan evaluasi. Data yang digunakan berupadata historis XAU/USD periode 2019–2024 melalui platform MetaTrader 5 padaakun cent LiteForex. Teknik analisis melibatkan backtesting dan forward testinguntuk menilai efektivitas EA berdasarkan profit factor, expected payoff, dandrawdown. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi RSI-MA denganmanajemen risiko adaptif mampu meningkatkan stabilitas performa dan efektivitaspengendalian risiko, meskipun profitabilitas konsisten belum tercapai.Kesimpulannya, strategi ini potensial untuk dikembangkan lebih lanjut denganpenyempurnaan algoritma dan penambahan indikator pendukung

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan Expert Advisor (EA) berbasiskombinasi tiga indikator teknikal, yaitu Simple Moving Average (SMA), RelativeStrength Index (RSI), dan Donchian Channel, dengan penerapan metode Walk-Forward Analysis (WFA) untuk menguji stabilitas strategi trading pada pasanganmata uang EUR/USD di platform MetaTrader 5. Pengembangan EA dilakukanmenggunakan pendekatan Research and Development (R&D) dengan model Vmencakup tahap desain, pengujian, optimasi, serta evaluasi hasil backtesting danreal-time testing. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi tiga indikatortersebut mampu meningkatkan akurasi sinyal dan efektivitas strategi, denganperforma terbaik pada time frame H1. EA yang dikembangkan memiliki nilai profitfactor di atas 1,0, drawdown yang rendah, serta win rate yang stabil. Strategibreakout berbasis multi-indikator juga terbukti efektif dalam mengidentifikasi arahtren utama dan meminimalkan false signal, meskipun performanya menurun padakondisi pasar sideways. Analisis statistik deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa hasilwalk-forward testing lebih adaptif terhadap perubahan pasar dibandingkan hasilbacktesting konvensional. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini membuktikan bahwapenggunaan kombinasi indikator SMA, RSI, dan Donchian Channel denganoptimasi WFA dapat meningkatkan stabilitas dan adaptabilitas Expert Advisorterhadap dinamika pasar forex serta memberikan kontribusi terhadappengembangan sistem trading otomatis berbasis analisis teknikal

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate an automated trading strategy based on an Expert Advisor (EA) integrating the Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP) and Relative Vigor Index (RVI) indicators for the USD/JPY currency pair. The EA was developed using the MQL5 programming language on the MetaTrader 5 platform and tested through a Research and Development (R&D) approach with a prototyping model. Testing was conducted under two timeframe scenarios (H1 and H4), including backtesting using historical data from 2021 to 2024, and real-time testing from April 22 to May 22, 2025. The backtesting results indicated positive performance with a favorable profit factor, Sharpe ratio, and win ratio, reflecting system stability and profit potential. However, real-time testing revealed decreased profitability due to higher market volatility and unpredictability. An independent t-test showed a significant difference in the balance variable, while profit and total deal trades were statistically insignificant. The findings suggest that combining VWAP and RVI has potential for automated trading systems, but further parameter optimization and the integration of technical filters are required to enhance robustness under real market conditions.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate an Expert Advisor (EA) based on the Donchian Channel indicator combined with the Safe-F Money Management strategy for trading the XAG/USD pair using the MetaTrader 5 platform. The EA is designed to capture breakout opportunities while adaptively managing trade size based on account balance. Testing was conducted using two approaches: backtesting with four years of historical data and real-time testing under actual market conditions. The backtesting results indicate that the H1 time frame scenario yielded more stable performance, with a Sharpe Ratio of 1.26 and low drawdown. In contrast, the real-time testing recorded less optimal outcomes, with profit factors below 1 and net losses in both scenarios. These findings suggest that although the EA performs well in simulations, real-time performance is affected by market volatility and execution factors. Therefore, further optimization and broader testing are recommended to enhance the system’s resilience in dynamic market environments.

Abstract

The indicators of the successful economy is macroeconomic performance. This macroeconomic factors can affectactivities of industry, company and the capital market as well. In 2016-2021, economic growth of all over the worldhas a severe decline, especially in 2019 due to the emergence of the Covid 19 pandemic, one of the sectors that hasexperienced fluctuations is the consumer goods sector, PT Unilever Indonesia is one of the consumer goods sectorcompany that experienced the unusual fluctuate of their company stocks price.This research aims to analyze theimpact of macroeconomic variable such as inflation, interest rates and exchange rates toward the return of acompany's stock. The sample used in this study are data from PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk since periods 2016-2021.The method analysis is the quantitative method by using descriptive and the multiple linear regression analysis.Theresults show that simultaneously the variables inflation, interest rates and exchange rates have an effect on PTUnilever Indonesia Tbk return, partially inflation have an effect on stock returns, while interest rates and exchangerates have no significant effect on stock returns partially, Implication of these findings, investors can utilize thisresearch as a reference for further research using other variables that can influence the return of a company's sharesand also use different objects.Keywords-Macroeconomic Indicators, Stocks Return, Inflation, Interest Rates, Exchange Rates.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang, mengimplementasikan, dan mengevaluasi Expert Advisor (EA) yang menggabungkan indikator Bollinger Bands dan Relative Strength Index (RSI) dengan pendekatan Dynamic Risk Management (DRM) berbasis metode percent volatility. EA dikembangkan untuk memberikan strategi trading yang lebih adaptif, khususnya dalam menghadapi kondisi pasar yang sangat volatil seperti pada pair XAU/USD. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan pengembangan model Waterfall, dilanjutkan dengan uji backtesting dan real-time testing menggunakan platform MetaTrader 5 serta data broker FBS. Pengujian dilakukan pada dua time frame (H1 dan H4), dengan evaluasi performa berdasarkan metrik utama trading: profit factor, expected payoff, drawdown, dan recovery factor. Hasil backtesting menunjukkan bahwa strategi ini cukup menguntungkan dengan profit factor 1.35 (H1) dan 1.60 (H4). Namun, pengujian real-time menunjukkan penurunan profitabilitas, dengan kerugian pada kedua time frame, meskipun eksposur risiko tetap rendah. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa strategi berjalan efektif pada data historis, namun dipengaruhi oleh faktor eksternal seperti slippage dan sentimen pasar saat diuji secara langsung. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan strategi trading algoritmik dengan mengintegrasikan DRM yang dioptimasi bersama indikator teknikal untuk pair XAU/USD, sehingga menghasilkan solusi trading otomatis yang lebih dinamis dan terkontrol dari sisi risiko.

Abstract

Crude Oil (XTIUSD) commodity trading offers significant opportunities but isaccompanied by high volatility and the challenge of trader psychological bias. Tradingautomation through Expert Advisors (EAs) is a solution to overcome inconsistency andimprove execution discipline. This study aims to construct an Expert Advisor on theMetaTrader 5 platform that integrates trading signals from the Ichimoku Cloud indicatorwith the Fibonacci Money Management strategy to optimize XTIUSD trading. This studyuses the Research and Development (R&D) method with a V-Model approach. The EA'sperformance was evaluated through two scenarios (H1 and H4 timeframes) usingbacktesting on 4 years of historical data (January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2024) andvalidated with real-time testing (August 22 – September 22, 2025). The results of the studyshow significant discrepancies: Scenario 1 (H1) was very profitable in backtesting (ProfitFactor 1.46) but failed in real-time testing (Profit Factor 0.04), indicating a high potentialfor overfitting. Scenario 2 (H4) shows more stable backtesting performance (Profit Factor1.72) and is profitable in real-time testing, albeit with a very limited sample size (1transaction). The main conclusion is that the EA was successfully constructed, and the H4timeframe (Scenario 2) proved to be more stable. However, the main weakness of thedeveloped system is its strong dependence on bullish market conditions, where bothscenarios only execute buy positions (long trades), making it not robust for bearish orsideways market conditions
