Abstract

It is important to prioritize oral health as an important component of overall medical care. Patients with mental illnesses are particularly susceptible to oral diseases, especially when hospitalized. Factors such as the type of psychiatric illness, length of treatment, and side effects of treatment can affect their oral health. Additionally, behaviors associated with mental illness, such as alcoholism, drug abuse, and smoking, can further exacerbate oral health problems in this population. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between oral hygiene and periodontal care needs in schizophrenia patients in the male inpatient room of the Prof. DR. V.L Ratumbuysang Mental Hospital, North Sulawesi Province. This type of research uses an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. This research was conducted in the male inpatient room of RSJ Prof. Dr. V.L. Ratumbuysang in June-July 2024. The study population was all male schizophrenia patients who were treated in the inpatient room of Prof. Dr. V.L. Ratumbuysang Hospital which amounted to 85 patients. Samples were taken using the Total Sampling Technique with the criteria that the patient was calm and cooperative when the examination was carried out. It was found that 60 samples met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Then the results of the study found a relationship between oral hygiene and the need for periodontal care of schizophrenia patients in the male inpatient room of Prof. Dr. V. L. Ratumbuysang Manado Hospital. The correlation coefficient value obtained was 0.896, meaning that the hygiene strength of the oral cavity and the need for periodontal care of schizophrenia patients were strong.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of Islamic education in fostering child inmates at the Mamuju Class II Special Children's Development Institution (LPKA). Sentenced children still have the right to education, including spiritual and moral guidance that can shape their character for the better. In this context, Islamic education plays a strategic approach in fostering the fostered children's beliefs, worship, and morals. This study aims to describe the form of coaching of faith, worship, and morals in LPKA Class II Mamuju and identify the inhibiting and supporting factors that affect the sustainability of coaching. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with field research. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman models. The study results show that coaching is carried out through activities such as learning the pillars of faith, congregational prayers, dhikr, religious lectures, BTQ, tahfidzul Qur'an, habituating manners, and responsibility. The main obstacles faced include limited human resources, facilities, budget, and the psychological condition of children. However, collaboration with external institutions and children's motivation are significant supporting factors. In conclusion, coaching at LPKA Mamuju makes a real contribution to shaping the character of child inmates through Islamic education. This research makes a theoretical and practical contribution to developing a more humanist and integrated coaching model in the future.

Abstract

Background: Introduction: Preliminary data from the Bilokka Community Health Center indicates that there are still toddlers with developmental disorders due to inappropriate parenting practices, particularly in nutrition, discipline, and communication. This condition risks hindering children's readiness to enter primary education and impacting the quality of future generations. Local surveys revealed that most mothers lack adequate knowledge regarding motor, cognitive, and socio-emotional stimulation of children. Purpose: To educate mothers of toddlers about the importance of monitoring early childhood growth and development and supporting factors such as parenting, nutrition, stimulation, and environmental health. Methods: This Community Service activity was conducted on August 4, 2025, at the Integrated Health Post (Posyandu) in Bilokka Village, Panca Lautang District, targeting 45 mothers of toddlers. The activity was implemented using a participatory approach through direct counseling, group discussions, child stimulation simulation practice, training on the use of the Pre-Screening Development Questionnaire (KPSP), and mentoring through online communication media. Results: 38 of the 45 participating mothers reported gaining a new understanding of child growth and development through this program. Six toddlers at risk of malnutrition were identified and referred to advanced health services. The active involvement of participants in all stages of the program significantly contributed to the program's success. Conclusion: Empowering mothers of toddlers through participatory-based education has proven effective in increasing mothers' knowledge and involvement in early childhood stimulation, which is essential for optimizing child growth and development. Suggestion: Increased collaboration with community health centers (Puskesmas) and Posyandu (Integrated Service Post) cadres is needed by actively involving health workers and Posyandu cadres in participatory educational activities to increase mothers' understanding and involvement in ongoing programs on a regular basis. Keywords: Education; Growth and development; Parenting; Toddler Pendahuluan: Data awal dari Puskesmas Bilokka menunjukkan masih adanya balita dengan gangguan tumbuh kembang akibat praktik pengasuhan yang kurang tepat, terutama dalam aspek nutrisi, disiplin, dan komunikasi. Kondisi ini berisiko menghambat kesiapan anak memasuki pendidikan dasar serta berdampak pada kualitas generasi mendatang. Survei lokal mengungkapkan bahwa sebagian besar ibu belum memiliki pengetahuan memadai mengenai stimulasi motorik, kognitif, dan sosial-emosional anak. Tujuan: Mengedukasi ibu balita tentang pentingnya pemantauan tumbuh kembang anak usia dini serta faktor-faktor pendukung seperti pola asuh, gizi, stimulasi, dan kesehatan lingkungan. Metode: Kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat ini dilakukan pada tanggal 4 Agustus 2025 di Posyandu Kelurahan Bilokka Kecamatan Panca Lautang dengan jumlah sasaran sebanyak 45 ibu balita. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan partisipatif melalui penyuluhan langsung, diskusi kelompok, praktik simulasi stimulasi anak, pelatihan penggunaan Kuesioner Pra Skrining Perkembangan (KPSP), serta pendampingan melalui media komunikasi daring. Hasil: Sebanyak 38 dari 45 ibu peserta mengaku baru memperoleh pemahaman tentang tumbuh kembang anak melalui program ini. Ditemukan enam balita dengan risiko gizi kurang yang telah dirujuk ke layanan kesehatan lanjutan. Keterlibatan aktif peserta dalam seluruh tahapan kegiatan berkontribusi signifikan terhadap keberhasilan program. Simpulan: Pemberdayaan ibu balita melalui edukasi berbasis partisipatif terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterlibatan ibu dalam stimulasi dini, yang esensial bagi optimalisasi tumbuh kembang anak. Saran: Perlunya peningkatan kolaborasi dengan Puskesmas dan kader Posyandu dengan melibatkan tenaga kesehatan dan kader Posyandu secara aktif dalam kegiatan edukasi yang partisipatif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterlibatan ibu dalam program berkelanjutan secara  berkala.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) adalah jenis virus baru yang menyerang imunitas tubuh dan dapat menyebabkan kematian. Proses penyebaran penyakit ini sangatlah cepat sehingga menjadikan setiap orang merasa cemas sehingga memicu individu jatuh situasi psikosomatis dengan keluhan susah bernafas serta pusing. Tujuan: Mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat desa tellulimpoe kecamatan marioriawa. Metode: Penelitian kuantitatif non eksperimental dimana menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptis analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional karena variable bebas dan variable terikat diambil dalam waktu bersamaan sekaligus pada saat itu (point time approach). Jumlah sampel sebanyak 30 responden dan instrument penelitian berupa kusioner yang dibagikan langsung kepada responden. Hasil: Responden terbanyak pada rentang usia 20-35 tahun yaitu 63,3% dari 30 responden. Untuk pekerjaan paling banyak adalah staff desa sebesar 43,3%. Tingkat pendidikan terakhir responden terbanyak adalah SMA sebesar 36,7%. Tingkat pengetahuan tentang vaksin Covid-19 masyarakat desa Tellulimpoe Kecamatan Marioriawa termasuk dalam kategori cukup karena berada pada rentang 56-74% dan tingkat pengetahuan tentang Vaksin Covid-19 masyarakat desa tellulimpoe kecamatan Marioriawa termasuk kategori cukup karena berada pada rentang 56-74%. Simpulan: Tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat desa Tellulimpoe Kecamatan Marioriawa tentang Vaksin Covid-19 berpengetahuan cukup dengan skor 70,52% dan tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat desa tellulimpoe kecamatan marioriawa berpengetahuan cukup dengan skor 57,19%. Kata Kunci: Vaksin; Pengetahuan; Covid-19 Abstrac Background: Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) is a new type of virus that attacks the body's immunity and can cause death. The process of spreading this disease is very fast so that it makes everyone feel anxious so that it triggers individuals to fall into a psychosomatic situation with complaints of difficulty breathing and dizziness. Purpose: To determine the level of knowledge of the people of Tellulimpoe Village, Marioriawa District. Methods: Non-experimental quantitative research which uses descriptive analytical research with a cross sectional approach because the independent and dependent variables are taken at the same time at the same time (point time approach). The number of samples was 30 respondents and the research instrument was a questionnaire which was distributed directly to the respondents. Results: Most respondents were in the age range of 20-35 years, namely 63.3% of the 30 respondents. For the most work is village staff by 43.3%. The most recent education level of respondents was SMA by 36.7%. The level of knowledge about the Covid-19 vaccine for the Tellulimpoe village community, Marioriawa sub-district, is included in the sufficient category because it is in the 56-74% range and the knowledge level about the Covid-19 vaccine for the Tellulimpoe village community, Marioriawa sub-district, is in the sufficient category because it is in the 56-74% range. Conclusion: The level of knowledge of the Tellulimpoe village community, Marioriawa District about the Covid-19 Vaccine, is moderately knowledgeable with a score of 70.52% and the level of knowledge of the Tellulimpoe village community, marioriawa sub-district is moderately knowledgeable with a score of 57.19%.
