Abstract

This study investigates the utilization of waste materials, namely glass powder and eggshell powder, as partial substitutes for fine aggregate and cement in Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC). The aim is to contribute to sustainable construction practices by reducing waste and enhancing concrete performance. Experimental analysis was conducted on SCC mixtures with varying percentages of eggshell powder (ESP) and glass powder. The results demonstrated that both materials can be effectively incorporated into SCC without compromising workability, as measured by slump flow and other tests. In terms of compressive strength, the addition of glass powder resulted in a significant increase, reaching a maximum of 56.6 MPa at a 20% substitution rate. ESP also positively influenced compressive strength, with the highest value of 48.7 MPa achieved at a 15% substitution rate. Furthermore, the study observed changes in the cracking pattern of SCC with increasing percentages of ESP and glass powder. These findings highlight the potential of waste materials to enhance the mechanical properties and sustainability of SCC, providing valuable insights for future applications in the construction industry.

Abstract

In structural analysis, many calculations are encountered which are very complex, making it difficult to do with exact mathematical calculations. For easier analysis, numerical methods are needed to simplify the calculations. Complex building structures such as towers, multi-storey structures and other buildings, are idealized for simplification into a single degree of freedom system (SDOF), assuming that the dynamic response of structures due to earthquake loads is horizontal. The analysis of this model is correlated with numerical analysis, so it can be completed quickly. The numerical method used in this study is the 1/3 Simpson Integral Method, because this method is suitable for calculating dynamic structural responses such as structural displacement responses. The analysis procedure begins by entering the external forces on the structural system and calculating the resulting response value. The analysis can be repeated for a variety of different parameters, such as the mass of the structure, the dumping ratio and the stiffness of the structure. Structural response is calculated by sinusoidal dynamic load type for damped and undamped systems. The results of this study conclude that the relationship between the mass of the structure, the damping of the structure and the stiffness of the structure with the displacement of the structure has an inverse relationship, where with high mass, high damping and high stiffness, it can reduce the structure displacement.

Abstract

According to The Indonesian Earthquake Map, Padang City in West Sumatra is in Earthquake zone 6. This indicates that Padang City is very vulnerable to earthquakes. Meanwhile, developments in the construction of high buildings also continue to show progress all the time. The main problem that is often faced is the issue of structural damage due to earthquakes. Efforts are needed in earthquake engineering on buildings so that collapse can be minimized. The earthquake damping system used is FVD (Fluid Viscous Dampers) with different types. The Type-A damper is FVD-750 kN and the Type-B damper is FVD-1000 kN, and without using a damper. This research aims to analyze the efficiency of reducing earthquake loads such as floor displacement and vibration period of an 18-story building structure 18 meters high from the base. The analysis method used is a numerical method by calculating earthquake load reduction based on numerical error analysis from the two types of dampers used on structures without using dampers. Building planning refers to SNI 1727-2013, SNI 1726-2019, and SNI 2847-2019, and is assisted by ETABS software. Based on SNI 1726-2019, earthquake risk category II, soft soil condition type (SE), earthquake acceleration response value SDS = 0.745g and SD1 = 0.784g are obtained. The earthquake load used is a dynamic load, taking into account that the condition of the building is irregular. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the displacement between floors using the Type-AFVD Damper could reduce the displacement by up to 45.72% and with the Type-B FVD Damper it could reduce the displacement by up to 92.72%. Meanwhile, the period of vibration natural using a Type-A FVD Damper can be reduced by up to 12.34% and using a Type-B FVD Damper can be reduced by up to 33.21%.

Abstract

Pasar Raya Padang is a major shopping center in Padang City that plays a significant role in the local economy. The application of the Green Building concept in this project not only aims to have a positive impact on the environment, but also to improve the welfare of the surrounding community by providing a healthier and more sustainable environment. This study aims to analyze the dominant and lowest factors in the implementation of Green Building and evaluate the assessment criteria used. The research method includes field surveys and interviews with various related parties, then an assessment is carried out based on the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI) standards. Based on the research results, the Pasar Raya Padang project successfully achieved 39.9% of the total Green Building indicators and received a bronze predicate with a percentage of 35%. The dominant factor in the implementation of Green Building in this project is "Appropriate Land Use", which successfully meets 12 of the 17 Energy Efficiency and Conservation criteria, equivalent to 11.8%. Meanwhile, the lowest factor is "Water Conservation", which only meets 3 of the 21 criteria due to limitations in realizing water recycling facilities and rainwater catchment, which are less suitable for the conditions of the construction site. This study shows that Pasar Raya Padang has successfully implemented several important aspects of Green Building, although there are still challenges in the aspect of water conservation.

Abstract

Supply chain is a coordination within a unit of activity related to the transfer of products and services from suppliers to consumers. It is necessary to have transparency of information between these lines to balance upstream and downstream chain lines. Limited information will cause distortion of information which causes a bullwhip effect in the supply chain. The implementation of this Community Service was carried out at the Semen Padang Vocational School. The supply chain game is a learning medium that we provide to the students of the vocational school. The games can be a good basic provision before these students go into the field later. In its implementation, the group that acts as a distributor becomes the sole winner with a total cost of SCG3500.

Abstract

The Asphalt Concrete-Binder Course (AC-BC) layer has an important structural function as a binder between the base layer and the wearing layer. This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of the AC-BC layer in terms of thickness and density using the core drill method on the Padang-Pekanbaru Toll Road Section 2 project. Tests were conducted on field and laboratory samples, then the results were compared with the 2018 General Bina Marga Specifications Revision 2. The average thickness of most samples met the minimum standard of 6.0 cm, but there were several points with a thickness <6.0 cm that required evaluation. Field density values ranged from 2.29-2.34 gr/cm³, and degree density between 97.19–99.47%. Most test points met the standard ≥98%, but there were points with values below the standard indicating potential imperfections in the compaction process. Analysis showed that differences in density values were influenced by the mixture temperature during spreading, the delay time between production and spreading, and variations in field implementation. These findings demonstrate the importance of temperature and time control to ensure the quality of AC-BC layer construction. The results of this study can serve as a technical reference for evaluating and improving fieldwork quality in pavement construction projects.

Abstract

A green home is defined as a residential concept designed with attention to the principles of sustainability in design, starting from energy efficiency, water management, selection of environmentally friendly materials, to the creation of good indoor environmental quality. The development of green housing in Padang city has begun to increase over time, but the success of a green home housing is indicated by the level of satisfaction of its residents. This study aims to identify and analyze the level of satisfaction of residents of residential houses with a green home concept. Data were collected based on a questionnaire survey and used the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) method to analyze the level of satisfaction of residents. Natural lighting, air circulation in the house and comfortable room temperature, design with efficient use of energy and water, the availability of green open space, noise control, waste management, and the use of quality and environmentally friendly materials are the main factors that influence the level of satisfaction and are important for residents of residential houses with a green home concept. The results of the CSI calculation of the three green home concept housing surveyed were 76.69% which is interpreted as a "satisfaction" level although there are still shortcomings in certain aspects that are used as evaluation material for improving the quality of green home housing and the expectations of residents in the future.
