Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of the peer tutor method to the mathematics learning process of 5 deaf students in class X SMALB Negeri Slawi. The method used is the descriptive method. The data collection is done by testing, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out by data reduction, presentation, and conclusion, which is the model of Miles and Huberman. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that peer tutors provide convenience for deaf students with below-average abilities in working on math problems. This is because deaf students get direction and assistance from deaf students who already understand and act as tutors so they can solve math problems. The application of the peer tutor method facilitates the learning process of deaf students. Students communicate with each other to assist, increase learning activity, and solve problems together it can affect the completeness of the learning outcomes of deaf students. In the learning process, peer tutors can be used as an alternatively appropriate and effective learning method, especially for deaf students.

Abstract

The mathematical creativity of students in Indonesia is low. Students only imitate what the teacher does; if students are faced with a problem, they find it difficult to solve it. This study aims to determine the increase in students' mathematical creative thinking skills taught using the Creative Problem Solving model with a scaffolding strategy. The method used is pre-experimental, with one class serving as the experimental class for public junior high school 1 Batumarta VI students. The instrument in this study was a description of the test questions with the material on flat sides. The results of the study showed that there was a statistical increase in students' mathematical creative thinking abilities with the Creative Problem Solving model, which obtained an N-Gain value of 0,612 From this average value, 10 students were obtained in the high category and 16 students in the medium category and 3 students in low category

Abstract

Good mathematical problem solving skills are important for students because they are the goals and principles in learning mathematics. However, various studies, both national and international, state that students' mathematical problem solving abilities in Indonesia are still low. The Geogebra-assisted discovery learning model is an innovation that can be used to improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities. This research aims to analyze the influence of the Geogebra-assisted discovery learning model on students' mathematical problem solving abilities in geometry learning. The research method used is meta analysis. The articles analyzed are articles sourced from Scopus, ScienceDirect and Google Scholar with a period of 2013-2023. Of the 10 articles analyzed, 3 of them studied groups of middle school students, 4 groups of high school students, and 3 students. The results showed that 8 articles had a large effect size, 1 article was a medium size, and 1 article was a small size. The results of the Independent Sample t-test obtained tcount of 11.59 and ttable of 1.96. So it can be concluded that the discovery learning model assisted by Geogebra has an effect on students' mathematical problem solving abilities in geometry learning. Through the discovery model, students discover their own concepts and solve the problems. Geogebra is important for illustrating geometric problems. Future research can also analyze the extent of the influence of the Discovery Learning model assisted by Geogebra on students' mathematical problem solving abilities in terms of various other variables both from within the students and from the surrounding environment.
