Abstract

In elementary school children, the selection of unqualified snacks is a problem that is a major concern in society. The animated video is made with a fun, simple storyline so that it can attract children's attention and the message conveyed can be maximized. Video animation is expected to change the mindset of children in preventing dengue hemorrhagic fever. This study aims to analyze the effect of animated video media on the prevention of dengue hemorrhagic fever on increasing knowledge, and attitudes of students of SDN 002 Sungai Pinang. This study used the Quasy experimental design research method with Time Series design. The population in the study was 5th grade students with amount of 45 people and used total sampling technique in sampling. There was an increase in the average knowledge score from 57.85 to 94.59. The average attitude score also increased from 60.52 to 93.11. Likewise with the average score of behavior, which increased from 62.22 to 94.17. Statistically, the results of the Wilcoxon test on the knowledge variable was ρ=0.000 < α 0.05 , and attitude ρ =0.000 < α 0.05. There is an influence of animated video media on increasing knowledge, and attitude in students of SDN 002 Sungai Pinang.

Abstract

Smoking behavior and smoking-related diseases were global health problems. The prevalence of school-age child smokers in Samarinda city has increased in the last three years. The study aimed to analyze the effect of health education with pop-up book media on knowledge and motivation to prevent smoking in students of SDN 009 Loa Janan Ilir. The type of research was a pre-experimental study with a one group pretest-posttest design. Research intervention was applied through health education with pop-up book media. The research sample was amounted to 67 fifth-grade students of SDN 009 Loa Janan Ilir which determined by total sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires. The research data were tested statistically using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that the number of students who had good knowledge increased by 47 people (70.1%) and positive motivation increased by 29 people (46.3%). The results of statistical analysis showed that there was an effect of pop-up book media health education on the knowledge (ρ-value = 0.000) and motivation of respondents (ρ-value = 0.002) about smoking prevention. Pop-up book media was effective as a health education media on smoking prevention for primary students.

Abstract

Obesitas merupakan masalah kesehatan masyarakat yang terus meningkat dan menjadi faktor risiko utama berbagai penyakit tidak menular seperti diabetes, hipertensi, dan penyakit jantung. Salah satu alternatif yang digunakan masyarakat dalam upaya manajemen berat badan adalah mengonsumsi produk nutrisi seperti Susu X yang berfungsi sebagai pengganti makanan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi, di mana data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam terhadap sembilan informan yang terdiri dari konsumen Susu X dan tenaga penjual. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa informan memiliki pemahaman yang baik mengenai fungsi dan manfaat Susu X, serta menunjukkan keseriusan dalam menjaga kesehatan. Sebagian besar informan merasakan manfaat seperti penurunan berat badan, peningkatan energi, dan tumbuhnya motivasi untuk menjalani hidup sehat. Namun, terdapat beberapa hambatan yang dihadapi, antara lain harga produk yang relatif tinggi dan kurangnya pemahaman sebagian masyarakat mengenai cara konsumsi yang benar. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Susu X berpotensi menjadi alternatif dalam pencegahan obesitas apabila dikonsumsi dengan pemahaman yang tepat dan dibarengi dengan pola hidup sehat.

Abstract

Siswa sekolah dasar masih cenderung mengonsumsi makanan yang kurang sehat karena mereka lebih mempertimbangkan warna dan rasa daripada kandungan gizinya. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah mengevaluasi pengaruh penggunaan video animasi terhadap pengetahuan dan motivasi siswa dalam memilih makanan sehat di SD Negeri 009 Loa Janan Ilir. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif menggunakan desain One Group Pretest-Posttest. Sebanyak 73 siswa kelas empat dijadikan sampel melalui teknik total sampling. Instrumen berupa kuesioner terkait pengetahuan dan motivasi diberikan sebelum dan sesudah pemutaran video animasi sebagai media pembelajaran. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan Uji paired sample t-test untuk mengetahui perbedaan skor sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Berdasarkan temuan, motivasi siswa meningkat dari 42,10 menjadi 44,85 (p=0,000) dan rata-rata pengetahuan mereka meningkat dari 8,89 menjadi 9,89 (p=0,018). Sebelum dan sesudah intervensi, terdapat perubahan yang signifikan (p<0,05) menurut Uji paired sample t-test. Dengan demikian, video animasi efektif sebagai alat bantu pengajaran untuk meningkatkan kesadaran siswa dan mendorong mereka untuk memilih pola makan yang lebih sehat. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa media video animasi dapat dijadikan sebagai strategi edukatif yang menarik interaktif untuk mendukung program promosi kesehatan di sekolah dasar. Sekolah disarankan untuk menggunakan media ini untuk mempromosikan kesehatan.

Abstract

Dental and oral health problems in Indonesia remain a serious challenge, particularly among school-aged children. According to the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI), the national prevalence of decayed, damaged, or painful teeth is 45.6%, and among the 5–9 year age group it reaches 49.9%. In East Kalimantan, the prevalence of dental health problems is 44.8%, with the highest cases occurring in elementary school–aged children. The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of health education using quartet cards on improving toothbrushing knowledge and attitudes among students of MI Ar-Rahmah Loa Janan Ilir. This study employed a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach. A total of 52 fourth-grade students participated as research samples, selected through proportionate stratified random sampling. The research instrument consisted of knowledge and attitude questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The results indicated a significant improvement in students’ knowledge and attitudes after receiving health education through quartet cards. The Wilcoxon test produced a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) for both variables, confirming that quartet cards are effective as a learning medium to enhance students’ knowledge and attitudes regarding proper toothbrushing. Quartet cards are therefore effective for use in oral health education to improve students’ knowledge and attitudes toward correct toothbrushing practices. It is recommended that this medium be more widely implemented as an educational method in elementary schools.
