Abstract

This discussion addresses Asmaul Husna as a source of Islamic ethics and its implementation in life, including the meaning of Asmaul Husna itself, Asmaul Husna as a source of guidance for ethics in Islam, and how it is implemented in daily life. The foundation of ethics in Islam is guided by the names of Asmaul Husna, which possess meanings that encompass all human behavior. Asmaul Husna functions as a moral and ethical guide, providing values that can be applied in everyday life. The method used in this article is an in-depth literature review, analyzing classical and contemporary texts related to Asmaul Husna. The conclusion of this discussion shows that a deep understanding of Asmaul Husna is not only important for strengthening faith, but also crucial in shaping strong and ethical character, especially amid modern challenges such as secularism and relativism.

Abstract

Differences in religion, schools of thought, and legal schools (madhhab) are historical–theological realities inherent in the Islamic tradition. However, in contemporary socio-religious practice, these differences often undergo ethical distortions that lead to exclusivism, the delegitimization of other groups, and symbolic conflicts in the name of religious truth. This article aims to analyze the concept of ethics in religion, thought, and madhhab from an Islamic perspective using a normative–philosophical approach, and to affirm its relevance within plural Muslim societies, particularly in Indonesia. This study employs a qualitative method based on library research by analyzing primary sources (the Qur’an and Hadith) and secondary sources in the form of works by classical scholars and contemporary Islamic thinkers. The findings indicate that Islam normatively positions ethics as a fundamental foundation in responding to differences, as reflected in the principles of adab al-ikhtil?f (ethics of disagreement), tas?muh (tolerance), taw?zun (balance), ‘ad?lah (justice), and wasathiyyah (moderation). The novelty of this article lies in its normative–philosophical synthesis between classical Islamic ethical concepts and contemporary discourse on religious moderation, thereby framing adherence to a madhhab not merely as juridical loyalty, but as a moral–intellectual awareness aimed at preserving the common good (ma?la?ah) and social harmony.

Abstract

This study examines the historical development of the Qadiriyah Sufi order, its teachings, dhikr, wirid, and methods, including the practice of dhikr, the form of initiation (bay‘ah), and its institutional structure. The research method involves a literature review, analysis of previous studies, and discussions. The purpose of this study is to understand the history of the development of the Qadiriyah order, the methods, teachings, and aspects of Sufi thought taught within the Qadiriyah order, as well as the process of its development and dissemination. The results of this study, viewed from several aspects using a Sufistic approach, indicate that the Qadiriyah order emerged as a response to anomalies in the social reality of its time. Historically, this order continued to develop and eventually became one of the largest religious movements accompanying the growth of Islamic culture within society. Shaykh ‘Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani believed that a noble life is achieved by devoting oneself solely to God. A God-conscious existence provides spiritual strength that redirects one from worldly pleasures toward spiritual happiness. In his efforts to emphasize self-purification from worldly desires, Shaykh ‘Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani outlined several guidelines to attain the highest level of self-purity through seven principles: repentance, asceticism (zuhd), trust in God (tawakkul), gratitude, patience, contentment (ridha), and honesty.
