Abstract

Silangjana Village in Buleleng, Bali, has natural tourism potential, one of which is the Candi Kuning Waterfall. The potential of Silangjana Village has not been balanced by structured educational tourism, village economic institutions, and low digital literacy and human resource capacity. The Impact Student Executive Board (BEM Berdampak) program has the main objective of increasing the capacity and empowerment of two target partners, namely the Lila Dharma Kerti Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) and the Dharma Kerthi Honey Bee Farmer Group, through the implementation of the innovative Eco-Art-Tech model. This model integrates environmental sustainability, namely Eco which refers to modern Trigona bee cultivation, Art which targets the creative economy with a program to recycle plastic waste into souvenirs, and Tech for digital systems supporting tourist attractions. The program's implementation methods include outreach, technical training, mentoring, and evaluation. Initial results show a significant increase in the knowledge and skills of Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) partners regarding source-based plastic waste management, as well as their ability to create various souvenir products such as fans, wallets, and key chains, to support tourism promotion. The Bee Farmers Group also experienced an increase in knowledge regarding modern Trigona honey cultivation techniques, and even achieved an effective and hygienic honey harvest. This program supports the SDGs and community economic independence.

Abstract

Abstract

Plastic waste is an urgent problem that must be addressed immediately. Plastic not only damages the ecosystem, but also threatens human health if not handled properly. As one of the efforts to overcome problems related to plastic waste, the Fine Arts Education study program (PPSR) in collaboration with the Informatics Engineering study program at PGRI Mahadewa University, carries out good activities, namely Community Service (PKM) activities. The activity program carried out is the creation of a plastic recycling installation entitled "Educational Reconstruction" which is present as a creative and educational effort in processing waste. This PKM implementation is in series with the Culture Run Bali 2024 activities, which are organized by Vinda Creative Events at Pandawa Beach. Culture Run is a running activity accompanied by various exciting activities at every kilometer in order to protect the environment and support "zero emissions" in Bali while preserving the cultural beauty of the Island of the Gods to continue to be spread to the wider community in Indonesia. The Plastic Recycling Installation is a work of art as well as educational media related to alternatives in processing plastic waste into environmentally and health-friendly art products.

Abstract

This community service program aims to provide education and training in eco-enzyme production as an effort to improve household waste management capabilities in the Banjar Prajasari area. The phenomenon of organic waste accumulation and environmental pollution is due to low public awareness regarding waste management. One simple, environmentally friendly product produced through the fermentation of fruit and vegetable waste that can be used as a versatile solution is known as Eco-enzyme. The Eco-enzyme production training was conducted through three activities: the first involved educational activities on household waste management, the second involved a hands-on eco-enzyme production workshop, and the third involved a twenty-day fermentation mentoring process. Data collection included observation, pre- and post-program knowledge assessments, and participant interviews. The results of the education and training on eco-enzymes showed a significant increase in public understanding of waste sorting, organic waste utilization, and eco-enzyme processing techniques. The community demonstrated positive behavioral changes in an effort to reduce household waste and successfully independently produce eco-enzymes. The conclusion of this activity is that community empowerment through the implementation of sustainable waste management activities and practical, effective, and efficient participatory education can increase public awareness in managing waste in the household environment.
