Abstract

This study aims to explore the challenges that have long hindered the progress of traditional weaving tourism in Central Lombok Regency and unravel the role of innovation as a breakthrough and solution. The study's focus centered on the importance of innovation as a transformative factor for traditional weaving tourism within the framework of smart tourism in Lombok Tengah Regency. It is known that the distinctive traditional weaving of Lombok has a long history and is an integral part of local life and culture, passed down through generations. However, realistically, traditional weaving must contend with challenges such as the low prices of woven fabric products, the lack of interest among the younger generation to learn weaving, and the limited capacity of weavers to respond to local, domestic, and even global market demands. This study employs a qualitative-exploratory approach, with the research taking place in the villages of Rembitan and Sukarara in Lombok Tengah Regency. The study finds that the challenges faced by traditional weaving can only be overcome through innovation. Innovation has the ability to overcome various obstacles by developing products and creating new designs that align with tourists' interests, utilizing digital technology to market and sell traditional woven products, imparting new skills and techniques to weavers, and promoting traditional weaving as a cultural heritage through digital platforms. Innovation has successfully transformed the traditional weaving tourism industry, even though this transformation is still partial. The dodeca-helix approach within the Tourism Hub can synergize stakeholders to create innovation for transforming the industry despite challenges that must be overcome for this transformation to materialize. In the effort to change the traditional weaving tourism industry through innovation, it is recommended that the Government, private sector, and local community collaborate to address challenges and create innovations to guide the development of traditional weaving in the future.

Abstract

This study investigates how digital marketing shapes the income of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) engaged in songket weaving in Ungga and Sukarara Villages in Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. Songket weaving is a culturally embedded craft, but its market prospects increasingly depend on visibility and engagement in digital channels. Using a quantitative design, data were collected from 100 songket weaver MSMEs through structured questionnaires and analyzed using partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). Digital marketing is conceptualized through five dimensions, accessibility, interactivity, entertainment, trust, and informativeness, while MSME income is measured by monthly revenue and profit. The measurement model demonstrated satisfactory convergent and discriminant validity, as well as high reliability across all indicators. The structural model shows that digital marketing has a strong and statistically significant positive effect on MSME income (β = 0.747; p < 0.001), explaining 55.8% of the variance (R² = 0.558) with high predictive relevance (Q² = 0.671). These findings confirm that more intensive and higher-quality use of digital channels is associated with higher income for the songket weavers. The study concludes that targeted interventions, such as digital marketing training, content creation support, and facilitation of social media and marketplace usage, are critical to enhancing the competitiveness, resilience, and livelihood outcomes of traditional craft-based MSMEs in peripheral tourism regions like Central Lombok. This study contributes to the MSME and digital transformation literature by providing destination-specific evidence from a craft cluster in an emerging economy context and offering an empirically grounded basis for designing local government and development agency programs for the digital empowerment of artisans.

Abstract

Tourism sectors have great potentials in increasing regional income. The program from the government to increase the number of tourisms is to prioritize tourism development, one of which is tourism on Lombok Island. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the government role in the development of community-based tourism in Lombok, especially the Mandalika Special Economic Zone in Central Lombok Regency. The analysis technique used in this study is to use convinience sampling techniques that are rarely used in previous tourism research in Lombok. The study contended that government role in the development of community-based tourism includes planning, development of main facilities, tourism expenditure policies, making and enforcing regulations. It also underlined that the driving factors in economic growth required participation of local communities. The inhibiting factors of local communities are educational background, employment, and gender.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the current financial management practices of fishermen in Dusun Koko, Tanjung Luar Village, East Lombok, and to formulate effective strategies for improving their economic stability and income. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving five fishermen as the main informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings reveal that most fishermen still manage their finances in a traditional manner without structured recordkeeping, causing fluctuating and seasonal income to be spent primarily on daily consumption without allocation for savings, investment, or emergency funds. Recommended strategies include implementing the 5-3-2 income allocation system, adopting simple financial recordkeeping, establishing emergency funds, conducting financial literacy training involving fishermen’s wives, and diversifying businesses through seafood processing and non-fishing side enterprises. Applying these strategies is expected to increase income by up to 20% during lean fishing seasons, strengthen economic resilience, and promote sustainable financial independence among fishermen.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of digitalization through the use of the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) on omzet growth among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Mataram City. The research is motivated by the transition from cash-based to digital payment systems in response to technological advancement and the need for operational efficiency in business activities. QRIS is considered an innovation that enhances transaction efficiency, expands customer reach, and increases revenue for business actors. This research employed a quantitative method with an associative approach. The population consists of all MSMEs in Mataram city using QRIS, with the sample determined using the slovin formula at a 10% margin of error, resulting in 100 respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires using a likert scale,  while data analysis included validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, simple linear regression analysis,t-test, and coefficient of determination (R2). The results indicate that the digital use of QRIS has a positive and significant effect on MSME omzet growth. This is supported by a t-value of 5.911, which is greater than the critical t-table value of 1.660, and a significance level of 0.000 (< 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) is 0.257, meaning that 25.7% of the variation in MSME profits is explained by the QRIS usage variable, while the remaining 74.3% is influenced by other factors. Therefore, the adoption of QRIS as a digital payment tool significantly contributes to increasing MSME profits in Mataram City.
