Abstract

The objectives of this study were (1) to determine the cabbage marketing channel, (2) the difference in marketing costs, profit sharing margin, and price difference in each marketing channel, (3) to determine the level of efficiency in each cabbage marketing channel in the study area. The research area was determined by purposeful sample selection in the village of Merek, Kecamatan Merek, Kabupaten Karo which was conducted in April 2019-July 2019. The reason for choosing the area is because the majority of the population makes a living from cabbage farming. The sampling method was conducted by simple random sampling. The sample in this study were farmers who make a living from cabbage farming throughout the year. The number of samples in this study was 33 samples. The results showed that: There are 3 cabbage marketing channels in the study area, channel I (farmers-traders-large traders-retail traders-consumers), channel II (farmers-large traders-retail traders-consumers), and channel III (farmers-retail traders-consumers). Cabbage marketing costs from farmers to the largest consumers are in channel I of Rp.1,082.54/kg compared with marketing costs in channel II of Rp.756.26/kg, and marketing costs in channel III of Rp.361.67/kg. Efficiency in each cabbage marketing channel is channel I by 18.78%, channel II by 12.82% and channel III by 6.03%, this means that marketing channel III is more efficient than marketing channels I and II.

Abstract

This research aims to identify internal (Opportunities and Threats) in palm oil development strategies, formulate alternative development strategies in palm oil processing. The research result show that the strength factors of the development strategy in palm oil processing in the research area are due to the quality of CPO and availability of palm fruit, while the weakness factors are due to the quality of human resources, company conditions, environmental strategies in palm oil processing in the research area due todemand for CPO and information technology, while the threat factors are competition for CPO, price fluctuations. With the weighting results of the SWOT analysis results with IFAS and EFAS, SO = 3,93, ST = 3.47, WO = 2.66, WT = 2.25. And the results of the QSPM strategy 1 matrix improve the quality of CPO to meet the increasing demand for market share and utilize the availability of palm fruit and infrastructure to increase production with the highest Total Attractive Score (TAS) value, namely 7.310 among other alternative TAS values, strategy 2 with a Total Attractive Score (TAS value of 6,240 and strategy 4 with a Total Attractive Score (TAS) value of 4,480.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using multimedia on improving student learning outcomes on excretory system material in class XI SMA YPK Pematangsiantar. The total population of 64 people consisting of 2 classes and samples were taken by random assignment so that 2 classes were obtained, namely the control class (XI-3) 32 people and the experimental class (XI-1) 32 people. The control class was treated without using multimedia power point and the experimental class was treated using multimedia power point. Data analysis was carried out by finding the average (, standard deviation (S) and hypothesis testing (t test) at the significance level = 0.05. From the results of the study, the average post-test for the control class was 88 and the experimental class was 90.13 with a difference in learning outcomes of 2.13. From the results of hypothesis testing (t test) obtained tcount (2.790) > ttable (1.99) at a significance level of 0.05 and degrees of freedom (dk) = 62, then Ho rejected and Hais accepted, meaning that there is an effect of using multimedia power point to improve student learning outcomes on the material of the human excretory system in class XI SMA YPK Pematangsiantar. It was concluded that there was an effect of using multimedia on improving student learning outcomes in the material of the human excretory system of class XI SMA YPK Pematangsiantar.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of mulch type and bulb weight on the growth and yield of onion production (Allium ascalonicum L.). In detail, this study aims to (1). Know the type of mulch that is most suitable for the growth and production of onion plants. (2). Knowing the weight of bulbs is best for the growth and production of onion plants. (3). Know the interaction between the type of mulch and the weight of bulbs used for the growth and production of onion plants. This study used Group Randomized Design (RAK) with 2 treatments, namely Factor I: three types of Mulch use (M): M0 = No Mulch; M1= Silver black plastic mulch (0.35 cm thick); M2= Mulch rice straw (1.5 cm thick). Factor II: three tuber weight intervals, namely: B0= 0 - 1.4 g (Small Tuber); B1= 1.5 – 1.8 g (Medium Tuber); B2 = > 1.8 g (Large Tubers). The results showed that the treatment of several types of mulch had a significant effect on plant height, weight of fresh tubers per clump, number of fresh tubers per clump, weight of fresh tubers per plot and number of fresh tubers per plot. M1 silver black plastic mulch treatment resulted in the highest plant height. weight of fresh tubers per clump (148.22 g), number of fresh tubers per clump, weight of fresh tubers per plot. Tuber weight treatment has a noticeable effect on plant height, number of leaves, weight of fresh tubers per clump, number of fresh tubers per clump, weight of fresh tubers per plot and number of fresh tubers per plot. B2 treatment yields the highest crop, number of leaves), weight of fresh tubers per clump, number of fresh tubers per clump, weight of fresh tubers per plot. The interaction of the use of several types of mulch and various tuber weights has a noticeable effect on plant height, number of leaves, weight of fresh tubers per clump, number of fresh tubers per clump, weight of fresh tubers per plot and number of fresh tubers per plot.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Wordwall-based learning media in improving student activity and learning outcomes in ecosystem material in class X of SMA Negeri 5 Pematangsiantar. The background of this study is based on the low activity and learning outcomes of students and the lack of innovation of the learning media used. The method used in this study is classroom action research (CAR). This study was conducted in two cycles consisting of four main stages: planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 36 students of class X-10 of SMA Negeri 5 Pematangsiantar. The results showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes from cycle I (60.94) to cycle II (84.56), with an increase of 23.6 points. Likewise, there was an increase in the percentage of learning completion, namely in cycle I of 27.78% (10 people) to 100% (36 people), in cycle II. From the observation results of student activity in cycle I obtained 60.15%, included in the less category and in cycle II 92.38%, included in the very good category thus there was an increase in student activity by 32.23%. The average N-Gain score of 0.83 shows that learning using the Problem Based Learning model with Wordwall-based learning media is very effective in increasing the activity and learning outcomes of class X-10 students of SMA Negeri 5 Pematangsiantar. The results of this study show an increase in student activity and learning outcomes in ecosystem material using the Problem Based Learning model with Wordwall-based learning media for class X-10 SMA Negeri 5 Pematangsiantar.
