Abstract

The rapidly evolving technological trends are transforming higher education. This study focused on designing and evaluating the effectiveness of multimedia-based courseware in improving students’ data analysis at Islamic University in Uganda. The objectives were: i) to create interactive multimedia courseware (IMC) to enhance students’ quantitative data analysis skills; ii) to evaluate the suitability of IMC’s content, interactivity, user interface, and design; and iii) to profile students’ perceived benefits of using the IMC to learn quantitative data analysis. A descriptive survey involving 160 education undergraduate finalists, selected through random and consensus sampling, was conducted. Data was collected through a self-report survey instrument with high validity (content validity index=0.886) and reliability (Cronbach alpha=0.878). The IMC development followed the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE) model and Gagne’s learning events. Results indicated that the IMC content (mean=3.90, SD=0.94), interactivity (mean=4.10, SD=0.79), user interface (mean=4.04, SD=0.82), and screen design (mean=4.05, SD=0.87) were highly appropriate. Students perceived IMC as effective in enhancing their data analysis skills (mean=3.86, SD=0.92). The findings suggest that IMC can significantly improve students’ quantitative analysis abilities. However, recommending further studies on the impact of IMC on students’ quantitative data analysis skills comprehensively in a multidisciplinary manner, to potentially revolutionize learning.

Abstract

General Background: The rapid expansion of digital platforms has reshaped consumer behavior and pricing strategies, creating distinct dynamics between online and offline markets. Specific Background: While e-commerce fosters impulsive and socially driven purchases influenced by dynamic and value-based pricing, offline markets remain tied to stable pricing and tangible shopping experiences. Knowledge Gap: Existing studies often analyze pricing strategies in isolation, lacking a comprehensive synthesis that bridges offline and online contexts within the modern omnichannel landscape. Aims: This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of research published between 2021–2025 to identify effective pricing approaches for both consumer segments. Results: The review of 20 peer-reviewed articles highlights that dynamic pricing, value-based pricing, and Pay-What-You-Want (PWYW) are central strategies, with effectiveness moderated by consumer psychology, product attributes, and channel structures. Online consumers respond strongly to personalized, transparent, and flexible pricing, while offline consumers prioritize experiential value and price stability. Novelty: The study integrates theoretical and empirical insights into a unified framework that reveals the critical role of psychological factors, ethics, and digital transformation in shaping pricing effectiveness. Implications: Findings underscore the importance for businesses to design adaptive, technology-driven pricing strategies that harmonize offline and online channels while sustaining consumer trust and long-term competitiveness. Highlights: Online consumers are strongly influenced by dynamic pricing, social commerce, and impulsive buying Offline consumers rely on stable pricing and hands-on product experiences Omnichannel strategies demand price consistency across digital and physical channels Keywords :Dynamic Pricing, Consumer Behavior, Online Shopping, Offline Retail, Value-Based Pricing

Abstract

This study employs Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) to explore the argumentation strategies or Topoi analyses used to justify the importance of the Emancipated Learning Policy (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka/MBKM) in response to the globalization of education. The discourse of globalization of education around the world, including in Indonesia, has been a topic of growing concern that attracts researchers and academics. In the context of Indonesia, this country deserves a close look since globalization has shaped and reshaped the education policy and practices, as well as enforced the shift of higher education curriculum. Besides unfolding the argumentation strategies utilized by the government to legitimize the policy, the study sheds new light on an alternative analysis to comprehend the marketization of higher education in Indonesia. The topoi analysis was used to identify how globalization shapes the policy and how the national authority discursively justifies the claim of its importance. By analyzing topos of urgency utilized in policy texts and the ministers speech, the findings reveal that the presence of globalization invasion in the policy is evident, as identified in the following arguments, namely link and match, quick change, competitiveness, and collaboration. These findings convincingly show that the education policy and its implementation should be advanced to match the global values of globalization, which is expected to bring a positive impact to national education, especially in the higher education context.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of self-regulated learning and interpersonal communication on academic procrastination. Academic procrastination is a behavioral tendency of students to delay academic tasks, which can negatively affect learning outcomes and graduation rates. This research used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The population consisted of 205 active students, selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through multiple linear regression using SPSS. The results revealed that self-regulated learning has a negative and significant effect on academic procrastination with a regression coefficient of –0.180 and a significance value of 0.005 (<0.05). Meanwhile, interpersonal communication shows a negative but not significant effect on academic procrastination with a regression coefficient of –0.140 and a significance value of 0.130 (>0.05). Simultaneously, both variables contributed to the reduction of academic procrastination with a significant F-test result. These findings indicate that students with higher self-regulated learning tend to demonstrate lower procrastination behavior, while interpersonal communication, although negatively related, does not play a dominant role. The study concludes that strengthening students’ self-regulated learning abilities is essential to minimize academic procrastination within higher education environments.

Abstract

This study examines the role of financial awareness as a mediating variable in the relationship between financial literacy and investment interest among students of the Faculty of Economics, Padang State University. A quantitative approach was used with path analysis techniques to test the direct and indirect effects between variables. A sample of 344 students was selected using proportional random sampling from a total population of 31,425 students. Data collection was conducted using a Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS version 25. The results showed that financial literacy had a positive and significant direct effect on investment interest. Financial awareness also significantly influenced students' investment interest. In addition, financial awareness was proven to play a role as a mediating variable in the relationship between financial literacy and investment interest, as indicated by the Sobel test with a significance value below 0.05. The total contribution of financial literacy and financial awareness in explaining variations in investment interest reached 90.71%. However, this figure needs to be understood carefully so as not to give an exaggerated impression of the model's strength. More than just statistical results, these findings reveal that students with high levels of financial literacy tend to have stronger financial awareness, which simultaneously shapes positive mindsets and attitudes toward investment. This shows that financial understanding not only plays a role as technical knowledge, but also as a psychological and behavioral foundation for wise financial decision-making. The practical implications of these findings emphasize the importance of strengthening financial literacy education programs and increasing financial awareness from an early age, both through academic curricula and external training. These efforts are expected to encourage students to become smart, rational young investors who are prepared to face risks in an informed manner.
