Abstract

This study compares plastic deformation behavior in box girder bridges with multiple boxes and cellular box cross-sections. The cross-section's shape significantly influences the girder's post-yield behavior despite being designed to have the exact yield moment. Steel's stress-strain relationship undergoes linear behavior until the yield stress is reached, followed by strain hardening. This study aims to assess the impact of strain hardening on the plastic behavior of girder box bridges.Two types of box girder sections, multiple box and cellular box, are designed with equivalent yield moments. The analysis is conducted with and without strain hardening calculations to evaluate plastic moment, inelastic area length, shape factor, and moment-curvature relationship. The design and analysis follow RSNI T-03-2005 standards using SAP 2000 v.15.Results indicate that multiple box sections exhibit more prominent plastic moments and inelastic area lengths than cellular box sections. Strain hardening calculations show significant increases in plastic moments for both section types. Graphical comparisons highlight the differences in moment-curvature relationships between models with and without strain hardening. Understanding the impact of strain hardening on plastic behavior provides valuable insights for designing and assessing box girder bridges, ensuring structural safety and performance under load conditions.

Abstract

The T. Nyak Makam Canal Bridge in Santan, Banda Aceh, serves as a vital transportation link, spanning 135 meters in length and 24,6 meters in width. This study presents a comprehensive analysis of the pile foundation bearing capacity, utilizing Standard Penetration Test (SPT) data to evaluate the middle pillar"™s structural performance. The analysis adheres to established engineering standards, including SNI 03-1726-2002, SII 0136-80, SNI 03-6747-2002, and PPPJJR (1987). The bearing capacity was assessed using multiple methodologies: Meyerhof"™s method (169.99 tons), Briaud et al."™s method (280,52 tons), and the material strength method (349,561 tons), yielding an average bearing capacity of 266,69 tons. Given the total structural load of 36.778 tons, the foundation required 228 piles to ensure optimal load distribution and stability. Pile group settlement analysis via the Meyerhof method indicated a displacement of 0,1328 m, while stability assessments resulted in ΣVi = 37.169,145 tons, ΣHi = 4.191,265 tons, and ΣMi = 838,669 t.m. The foundation consists of reinforced concrete piles with a diameter of 0,5 meters and a length of 26 meters, strategically arranged in 38 columns and 6 rows to maximize structural integrity. The findings confirm that the pile foundation exhibits high stability and meets all safety requirements, ensuring its suitability for long-term bridge performance.

Abstract

In conventional steel bridge design, the material stress–strain response is often idealized as bilinear, neglecting strain hardening and potentially underestimating plastic capacity. This study investigates the influence of strain hardening on the plastic behavior of a plastic box girder bridge with twin box cross-sections. A 40 m span bridge with a total width of 10 m was analyzed using SAP2000 v15, following RSNI T-03-2005 for design provisions and RSNI T-02-2005 for loading. Two constitutive models were compared: a bilinear model and a strain-hardening model. The evaluation focused on the moment–curvature response, plastic moment, the extent of the inelastic region, and the shape factor. Results show that incorporating strain hardening increases the plastic moment from 171,000 kNm to 223,000 kNm, corresponding to a 23.32% enhancement. Moreover, the predicted length of the inelastic region increases by approximately 2.5 times relative to the bilinear assumption. These findings confirm that strain hardening substantially improves flexural capacity and ductility, highlighting the importance of realistic material modeling in plastic bridge analysis.

Abstract

Profesionalisme guru merupakan faktor kunci dalam menentukan kualitas pembelajaran dan keberhasilan pendidikan di sekolah. Guru yang profesional tidak hanya dituntut memiliki penguasaan materi ajar, tetapi juga kompetensi pedagogik, kepribadian, sosial, dan profesional yang terus berkembang seiring dengan dinamika pendidikan modern. Salah satu upaya strategis untuk meningkatkan profesionalisme guru adalah melalui supervisi akademik yang dilakukan oleh kepala sekolah. Supervisi akademik tidak lagi dipahami sebagai kegiatan pengawasan semata, melainkan sebagai proses pembinaan profesional yang berorientasi pada peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran, refleksi praktik mengajar, serta pengembangan kompetensi guru secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara komprehensif peran supervisi akademik kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan profesionalisme guru di tengah tantangan pendidikan modern, seperti tuntutan kurikulum, perkembangan teknologi, dan kebutuhan peserta didik yang semakin kompleks. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka (library research). Data dikumpulkan dari berbagai sumber ilmiah berupa jurnal nasional dan internasional, buku referensi, serta dokumen kebijakan pendidikan yang relevan, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis konten untuk menemukan pola, konsep, dan temuan yang berkaitan dengan supervisi akademik dan profesionalisme guru. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa supervisi akademik yang dilaksanakan secara terencana, sistematis, humanis, dan kolaboratif mampu meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik guru, mendorong munculnya praktik reflektif dalam pembelajaran, serta memperkuat komitmen profesional guru terhadap tugas dan tanggung jawabnya. Oleh karena itu, penguatan kompetensi supervisi akademik kepala sekolah menjadi kebutuhan mendesak dalam rangka menciptakan budaya pembelajaran yang berkualitas, adaptif, dan berkelanjutan di lingkungan sekolah.
