Abstract

This research aims to analyze the relationship social media usage and students' study productivity. The background highlights the widespread use of social media among students, which potentially affects their time management and learning efficiency. The study uses a quantitative approach, employing questionnaires as the data collection instrument. The sample consists of 150 students from various academic programs. The findings reveal a negative correlation between social media usage and study productivity, primarily related to time management issues. The study concludes that effective time management in social media usage can improve students' learning productivity. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan media sosial dengan produktivitas belajar mahasiswa. Latar belakang penelitian adalah tingginya penggunaan media sosial di kalangan mahasiswa yang dapat mempengaruhi efektivitas waktu belajar. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan kuesioner sebagai instrumen pengumpulan data. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 150 mahasiswa dari berbagai program studi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media sosial memiliki korelasi negatif dengan produktivitas belajar, terutama dalam hal manajemen waktu. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa pengelolaan waktu yang tepat dalam penggunaan media sosial dapat meningkatkan produktivitas belajar mahasiswa

Abstract

Academic stress is a common condition experienced by students due to high academic demands and workloads. This study aims to analyze the level of student stress and the factors that influence it. This study used a quantitative survey method by distributing questionnaires to students. The results showed that 77.3% of students experienced academic stress, with the main cause being a heavy workload (68.2%). Most students came to experience stress (68.2%), while 27.3% experienced it often. To overcome stress, many students chose to rest (86.4%) and talk to friends (9.1%). As an effort to reduce academic stress, students proposed reducing the workload (36.4%), providing a lounge (31.8%), counseling services (22.7%), and a more flexible class schedule (9.1%). The results of this study indicate that academic stress can be minimized with good time management and the support of a more conducive campus environment. Stres akademik merupakan kondisi yang umum dialami mahasiswa akibat tuntutan akademik dan beban tugas yang tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat stres mahasiswa serta faktor-faktor yang memengaruhinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei kuantitatif dengan penyebaran kuesioner kepada mahasiswa. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa 77,3% mahasiswa mengalami stres akademik, dengan faktor utama penyebabnya adalah beban tugas yang berat (68,2%). Sebagian besar mahasiswa mengalami stres (68,2%), sedangkan 27,3% sering mengalaminya. Untuk mengatasi stres, mahasiswa banyak memilih beristirahat (86,4%) dan berbicara dengan teman (9,1%). Sebagai upaya mengurangi stres akademik, mahasiswa mengusulkan pengurangan beban tugas (36,4%), penyediaan ruang santai (31,8%), layanan konseling (22,7%), dan jadwal kuliah yang lebih fleksibel (9,1%). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa stres akademik dapat diminimalkan dengan manajemen waktu yang baik serta dukungan lingkungan kampus yang lebih kondusif.

Abstract

Sleep is a fundamental physiological need characterized by a state where perception and reaction to the environment diminish or disappear, yet individuals can still be awakened by sufficient stimuli. Adequate sleep is essential for normal bodily functions. A decline in sleep quality is marked by excessive drowsiness, fatigue, and difficulty concentrating during learning, which are closely related to academic performance. This study aims to determine the effect of sleep quality on the academic performance of students in the Indonesian Language and Literature Department at Indraprasta PGRI University. The method employed involved administering questionnaires to 25 students. Results indicate a significant relationship between good sleep quality and improved academic performance. Students with poor sleep quality tend to experience decreased concentration, memory, and learning motivation, negatively impacting their academic grades. Therefore, it is crucial for students to maintain healthy sleep patterns to achieve optimal academic performance. Tidur merupakan suatu kebutuhan dasar manusia yang bersifat fisiologis yang merupakan kondisi dimana terjadi penurunan atau hilangnya persepsi dan reaksi terhadap lingkungan, namun masih dapat dibangunkan dengan rangsangan yang cukup. Setiap orang perlu memiliki kebutuhan tidur yang cukup agar tubuh dapat berfungsi secara normal. Penurunan kualitas tidur ditandai dengan rasa kantuk berlebih, lemas, sulit berkonsentrasi dalam belajar yang berkaitan erat dengan hasil prestasi akademik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh kualitas tidur terhadap akademik pada mahasiswa jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, Universitas Indraprasta PGRI. Metode yang digunakan adalah pengisian kuesioner oleh 25 mahasiswa. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan signifikan antara kualitas tidur yang baik dengan peningkatan prestasi akademik. Mahasiswa dengan kualitas tidur buruk cenderung mengalami penurunan konsentrasi, memori, dan motivasi belajar, yang berdampak negatif pada nilai akademik mereka. Oleh karena itu, penting bagi mahasiswa untuk memperhatikan pola tidur yang sehat guna mencapai prestasi akademik yang optimal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dampak media sosial terhadap keterampilan membaca kritis mahasiswa. Dengan semakin meningkatnya penggunaan media sosial di kalangan mahasiswa, penting untuk memahami bagaimana platform ini mempengaruhi kemampuan mereka dalam menganalisis dan mengevaluasi informasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif-kuantitatif, dengan pengumpulan data melalui survei yang diakses oleh responden melalui Google Form. Data diperoleh melalui observasi yang melibatkan 22 mahasiswa sebagai responden, dengan kuesioner Google Form sebagai pelengkap. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 50% dari 22 mahasiswa yang disurvei mengakses media sosial lebih dari 6 jam per hari. Meskipun mahasiswa sering menggunakan media sosial, tujuan utama akses tersebut lebih kepada hiburan daripada pengembangan keterampilan membaca kritis, hal itu menunjukkan bahwa kurangnya keterampilan membaca pada mahasiswa. Penelitian ini juga mengidentifikasi dampak positif dan negatif dari penggunaan media sosial, di mana media sosial dapat meningkatkan akses informasi dan keterampilan kritis, namun juga berpotensi mengurangi kemampuan analitis dan menciptakan ketergantungan pada sumber informasi yang tidak dapat diandalkan. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan bagi pendidik dan mahasiswa mengenai pentingnya penggunaan media sosial yang bijak dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca kritis. This study aims to analyze the impact of social media on the critical reading skills of students’. As the use of social media among students continues to rise, it is essential to understand how these platforms influence their ability to analyze and evaluate information. The results of descriptive-quantitative method, collecting data through a survey distributed to 22 students via Google Forms. The findings reveal that 50% of respondents access social media for more than 6 hours a day, primarily for entertainment purposes. Although social media provides access to a variety of information sources, the study finds that its usage does not always contribute positively to the development of critical reading skills. Identified positive impacts include enhanced access to information and the development of critical skills through online discussions, while negative impacts include a lack of analytical skills and dependence on unreliable information sources. These findings are expected to provide insights for educators and students regarding the importance of using social media wisely to enhance critical reading skills.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a shift in the education system from face-to-face learning to online learning. This study analyzes the impact of online learning on students' academic achievement after the pandemic by considering factors such as understanding the material, learning motivation, academic grades, effectiveness of learning media, and teacher support. Through a descriptive quantitative method involving 12 students of SMK Darur Roja Kholiliyah, it was found that 41.7% of students had difficulty understanding the material, and their learning motivation decreased. As many as 41.6% of students reported a decrease in academic grades, although 33.3% felt that online learning media were quite helpful. Teacher support had a positive effect on 75% of students, but social interaction was still less than optimal. Most students (41.7%) preferred face-to-face learning because it was considered more effective in improving academic achievement. The effectiveness of learning media and teacher support factors have a significant role in students' academic success. Therefore, innovative strategies are needed to improve the effectiveness of online learning to support students' academic achievement in the future. Pandemi COVID-19 telah menyebabkan pergeseran sistem pendidikan dari pembelajaran tatap muka ke pembelajaran daring. Penelitian ini menganalisis dampak pembelajaran daring terhadap prestasi akademik siswa pasca pandemi dengan mempertimbangkan faktor pemahaman materi, motivasi belajar, nilai akademik, efektivitas media pembelajaran, serta dukungan guru. Melalui metode kuantitatif deskriptif yang melibatkan 12 siswa SMK Darur Roja Kholiliyah, ditemukan bahwa 41,7% siswa mengalami kesulitan memahami materi, dan motivasi belajar mereka menurun. Sebanyak 41,6% siswa melaporkan penurunan nilai akademik, meskipun 33,3% merasa media pembelajaran daring cukup membantu. Dukungan guru berpengaruh positif bagi 75% siswa, namun interaksi sosial masih kurang optimal. Sebagian besar siswa (41,7%) lebih menyukai pembelajaran tatap muka karena dianggap lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan prestasi akademik. Faktor efektivitas media pembelajaran dan dukungan guru memiliki peran signifikan dalam keberhasilan akademik siswa. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi inovatif untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran daring guna mendukung prestasi akademik siswa di masa depan.

Abstract

This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, which is an approach that aims to describe and analyze the social meanings contained in literary texts based on the researcher's in-depth interpretation. The poem Sajak Sebatang Lisong by W.S. Rendra is a form of sharp criticism of the social inequality that occurred during the New Order. From a socialist perspective, this poem voices the suffering of the common people, criticizes the dominance of the bourgeoisie, and highlights the inequality in access to education, employment, and national development that tends to imitate foreign systems without considering the local context. Rendra emphasizes that art and thought should side with social reality and the suffering of the people, not be separated from the lives of society. By making his poem an "emergency pamphlet," Rendra calls for resistance, class awareness, and the need for direct involvement of intellectuals and artists in the social struggle for justice and equality.

Abstract

The novel Tenggelamnya Kapal Van der Wijck by Hamka represents the social reality of Minangkabau society through a tragic love story full of cultural values ​​and social conflict. This study aims to analyze the aspects of literary anthropology in the novel, focusing on the representation of customs, social values, and the dynamics of individual relationships with society. The results of the analysis show that Hamka raises the issue of social inequality, oppression in the name of customs, and the struggle of individuals in facing the dominance of cultural structures. Through the characters of Zainuddin and Hayati, these novel expresses criticism of rigid customary values ​​that do not side with humanity. Literary anthropology in this novel plays an important role in connecting fictional narratives with social reality, as well as being a means of cultural reflection and collective identity of society. With a strong and emotional storytelling style, Hamka successfully voices the conflict between tradition and modernity, and invites readers to understand the complexity of culture in people's lives. This novel is not only a literary work, but also a cultural document that reflects the social dynamics of its time.

Abstract

Oka Rusmini's Sagra short story collection depicts the life of Balinese people through short stories full of cultural and social values. This study aims to analyze the symptoms of code-mixing, focusing on conversations between characters and factors that influence code-mixing. It can be concluded that the use of code mix in Sagra's short story collection proves to be not only dominant in strengthening the diction of the story but also to describe the social and cultural identity of Balinese society. Code-mixing symbolizes the dialog between local tradition and modern influence as the author's language choice. It reflects the characters' feelings, social relationships, and position in Balinese society, which is rich in social and cultural diversity. The role of code-mixing in Sagra's short story collection has a great influence on building the story as an expression of quiet confessions about women, customs, and resistance that may not be often voiced. The presence of code-mixing in Oka Rusmini's Sagra stories shows sensitivity to the language context between characters, in addition to being part of instilling effective moral messages to readers. Some forms of code mix found in this short story include lexical code mix, syntax, conversations between characters, time or place markers, expressions or idioms, and character monologues. Kumpulan cerpen Sagra karya Oka Rusmini menggambarkan kehidupan masyarakat Bali melalui cerita-cerita pendek yang penuh dengan nilai budaya dan sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis gejala campur kode, dengan fokus pada percakapan antar tokoh dan faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi campur kode. Dapat disimpulkan penggunaan campur kode dalam kumpulan cerpen Sagra terbukti bukan hanya dominan dalam memperkuat diksi cerita melainkan untuk menggambarkan identitas sosial dan budaya Masyarakat Bali. Campur kode sebagai simbol terjadinya dialog antara tradisi lokal dan pengaruh modern sebagai pilihan bahasa pengarang. Campur kode mencerminkan perasaan, hubungan sosial, dan posisi karakter dalam masyarakat Bali yang kaya akan keberagaman sosial dan budaya. Peran campur kode dalam kumpulan cerpen Sagra memiliki pengaruh besar membangun cerita sebagai ekspresi pengakuan lirih yang mengguncang tentang perempuan, adat, dan perlawanan yang mungkin tidak jarang disuarakan. Kehadiran campur kode dalam cerita Sagra karya Oka Rusmini menunjukkan adanya kepekaan terhadap konteks bahasa antar tokoh, di samping menjadi bagian untuk menanamkan pesan moral yang efektif kepada pembacanya. Beberapa bentuk campur kode yang ditemukan dalam cerpen ini meliputi campur kode leksikal, sintaksis, percakapan antar karakter, penanda waktu atau tempat, ungkapan atau idiom, serta monolog karakter.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the aesthetics of a poem entitled "Semua Saat" published through the Instagram platform, using a stylistic approach. This study focuses on linguistic elements such as diction, style, repetition, and aesthetic nuances. The results of the analysis show that even though it was published on social media, the poem has a depth of meaning, emotional strength, and a strong stylistic structure, so that it can still be studied as a quality literary work. The poem "Semua Saat" proves that literary works published through Instagram still have high aesthetic value if written with the right choice of language. Through a stylistic approach, this poem shows a richness of expression in the diction, repetition, and figures of speech used. The inner journey in this poem, from apparent calm to spiritual sincerity, creates a deep and touching aesthetic value. Social media does not reduce the quality of a poem, but rather opens up new space for poets to reach a wider readership. With proper analysis, works like this can still be studied scientifically and appreciated as part of the development of contemporary literature.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the meaning of the poem “Doa” (Prayer) by Chairil Anwar through Roland Barthes’ semiotic approach. The analysis focuses on three layers of meaning: denotation, connotation, and myth. The findings reveal that “Doa” contains deep spiritual and existential dimensions that cannot be interpreted superficially but require a close and layered reading to uncover its hidden meanings. Using Barthes’ semiotic theory—which emphasizes the three levels of meaning—an examination of the poem’s lines unveils the symbolic complexity crafted by the poet. Lines such as “At Your door I knock” and “I cannot turn away” denote simple actions, yet connotatively reflect the fragile human psyche filled with regret, longing, and hope for the divine. At the mythic level, the poem constructs an ideological narrative about the relationship between human beings and God within the context of modernity, where individuals face existential emptiness and ultimately seek refuge in the divine as their only source of meaning and stability.
