Abstract

One of the major contributions of Ibn Qayyim is about wali mujbir guardian in marriage. He expressed a parent or guardian should not be married off forcibly if it is not accompanied with the consent and approval of the child. This perspective is different from the scholarly (the majority of scholars) that states a parent or guardian may be married off forcibly although without the consent and approval of the child. This study is a literature study (library research) using a contextual approach presented in descriptive and deductive. Data were analyzed through content analysis and hermeneutic methods and study uṣul fiqh. Results from this study: (1) Especially girls (as well as boys) should not be forced to marry and must not be married except with his/her agreement. (2) The Method used legal istinbāt. (3) Relevance thought Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyya about mujbir guardian in marriage (a child’s right perspective) in accordance with the spirit of child rights and relevant to contemporary conditions. Thought Ibn Qayyim are considered able to accommodate the growing problems of law in society in order to avoid forcing the parents to their children to marry without first requested permission and consent of the child.

Abstract

Tuberculosis is one of the most common disease in Indonesia. Ethambutol is one of the main regiment therapy for patient with tuberculosis. Duration of ethambutol therapy depends on what category of tuberculosis patient. Ethambutol intake can cause optic neuropathy with colour vision deficiency as an early symptom. Ethambutol therapy can also cause decrease of zinc serum level and it is cause by zinc chelate that can be found in ethambutol. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between duration of ethambutol therapy and zinc serum level with colour vision deficiency which examined with Farnsworth Munsell 100 Hue in tuberculosis patients. This is an observational explorative study. Colour vision is xamined with Farnsworth Munsell 100 Hue and zin serum level is detected by blood sample. Data was analyzed by correlation study. Correlation statistic between ethambutol therapy duration with colur vision using Spearman coreelation study found that r = 0,5 and p = 0,00, whereas in correlation between zinc serum level with colour vision found that r = 1,68 and p = 0,32. There is significant correlation and positive direction between ethambutol therapy duration with colour vision deficiency. Even though there is no significant correlation between zinc serum level with colour vision deficiency, there is a strong correlation.

Abstract

Copper as a metal chelator in ethambutol may interfere oxidative phosphorylation and mitochondrial function that are useful in the formation of ATP, so that long-term damage can cause apoptosis and interfere color vision. This study aims to determine the correlation between duration of ethambutol and copper levels in serum with color vision disorder examined with Farnsworth Munsell 100 Hue (FM100) in patients with tuberculosis. This study was an explorative observation of 20 samples during November 2017 - January 2018 period. Comparative analysis using independent t-test, paired t-test, Wilcoxon test and Mann-Whitney test, while correlation analysis using Spearman's test and Pearson's test. There was a significant difference of FM100value before and after in category I (p=0.000) with increase of total error value 11.80+5.31 or category II (p=0.000) with increase of total error value 15.00+7.41. There was significant difference of Cu2+  level before and after in category I (p=0.005) with decrease of  Cu2+ level 15.57+5.04 mg/dL or category II (p=0.005) with decrease of  Cu2+ level 31.66+7.35 mg/dL. The duration of Ethambutol was related to changes in color vision examined with FM100.

Abstract

Patients with Multiple Drug-Resistant Pulmonary Tuberculosis at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang: Association of Body Mass Index on Drug Side Effects. Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease transmitted by acid-resistant bacteria, namely, Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTb). TB enters the respiratory tract and infects the lungs, and it can spread to other organs both hematogenously and lymphogenously. Pulmonary TB is the most common occurrence. Based on resistance, there are 2 types of pulmonary TB infection: drug-sensitive and drug-resistant. Multiple drug-resistant pulmonary TB (MDR-TB) is a type of pulmonary TB bacteria that is resistant or immune to rifampicin and/or isoniazid treatment. In the treatment of pulmonary TB, MDR uses a multi-drug combination therapy regimen in which each drug has both major and minor side effects. One of the risk factors for side effects is body mass index (BMI). In this study, conducted using a retrospective descriptive method during the 2019–2021 period at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital Palembang, 52 subjects met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. 33 subjects (63.5%) were under weight, and 19 subjects (36.5%) were normoweight. Of the 52 subjects, 27 experienced minor ESO and 25 experienced major ESO. The most common major ESO is hearing loss, with 12 events, and in the underweight group, with 10 events. The most common minor ESO was nausea, which occurred 14 times in the overweight group and 9 times in the underweight group. The chi square test showed that there was a significant relationship between underweight BMI and the incidence of major ESO with a p value of 0.029 and an odds ratio (OR) of 3.67x. We concluded that a low body mass index had a 3.67x effect compared to a normal BMI on the increased incidence of major side effects of anti-tuberculosis drugs in MDR-TB patients at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital Palembang.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is a contagious infectious disease caused by acid-resistant bacteria, Mycobacterium Tuberculosis (MTb). Based on immunity, there are two types of pulmonary TB infection: drug-sensitive and drug-resistant. Based on ATD sensitization tests, MTb resistance types consist of TB that is monoresistant, polyresistant, multidrug resistance (MDR), pre-extensively drug resistant (Pre-XDR), extensively drug-resistant (XDR). Globally, in 2022, there will be an estimated 450,000 cases of DR-TB, but only 161,000 treated. In Indonesia, in 2022, there were an estimated 24,000 cases of DR-TB; only 8,268 were notified and 5,082 cases had started therapy. In this study, conducted with a retrospective descriptive method, during the period 2022 at RSMH Palembang, 92 patients with DR-TB were obtained who received treatment at RSMH Palembang. Of the 92 subjects, the mean age of diagnosis of DR-TB was 44.47 ± 16.5. The most common gender was male 62 subjects (67.4%) and 30 subjects were female (32.6%). Of the 92 rifampicin-resistant patients, there were a total of 39 patients (42.4%) with isoniazid resistance. Among these 39 patients, 21 patients (54%) were primary resistance cases and 18 patients (46%) were secondary resistance cases. The most common type of therapy regimen used was a long-term regimen as many as 68 subjects (74%) and short-term as many as 24 subjects (26%)Primary resistance patterns were obtained in 43 subjects (46.8%) and secondary resistance in 49 subjects (53.2%). Of the 49 secondary resistance subjects, 52 subjects (56.5%) had TB-RR, 33 subjects (35.8%) had MDR-TB, 6 subjects (6.5%) had pre-XDR TB, and 1 subject (1.2%) had XDR-TB. The researcher concluded that the dominant resistance pattern of pulmonary TB cases was secondary resistance, with the results of the drug sensitivity test being TB-RR. However, it should be noted that DR-TB with a primary resistance pattern also has a higher percentage.

Abstract

The Indonesian Ulama Council, as the highest authority issuing fatwas on Islamic law in Indonesia, has issued several fatwas concerning health and social behavior. One significant fatwa prohibits smoking in public places, reflecting concerns over its health impacts on both smokers and those exposed to passive smoking. This study aims to examine changes in smoking behavior following the issuance of the Indonesian Ulama Council fatwa, which prohibits smoking for pregnant women, children, and in public places. Employing a qualitative method with a case study approach, the research involves in-depth interviews and observations with six informants familiar with and affected by this phenomenon. All data are analyzed thematically using the Miles & Huberman interactive analysis model. The analysis reveals three categories of smokers post-fatwa: i) those who quit due to heightened awareness of smoking's dangers; ii) those who continue due to lack of awareness about the ban; and iii) those who persist due to perceived personal benefits from smoking, understanding the ban applies only to specific groups. This study underscores the need for enhanced education and socialization efforts regarding the fatwa and smoking cessation to promote broader compliance.

The method used is library research by collecting all information relevant to this discussion, so that a conclusion can be drawn on the problems faced by Muslims. The results of the review of the Qur'an and Sunnah in this article can be concluded as follows: 1. Review of the Qur'an and Sunnah: making grave markers with wooden headstones or permanent headstones from stones, laying just stones or tombstones (permissible) because they have a basis in Islam. This is due to efforts to mark the grave so that it is easy to recognize and easy to visit in the future. 2. Review of the Qur'an and Sunnah: installing a tombstone on top of the grave or providing a roof or house over it, namely: The grave may be raised just one inch so that it is recognized as a grave and is easier to visit, and also so that it is more respected by pilgrims. It is forbidden to put cement on graves and write on them and it is also forbidden to build buildings on graves.
