Abstract

Mathematical learning is based on the context of everyday life and is reflected in the evaluation questions given to students. One type of question that is proper for the teacher to use is a word problem. Word problems are more difficult than other models. This type does not present problems with mathematical models directly but with narrative stories that students should understand first. This research was phenomenological research that aimed to find out what difficulties were experienced by students in solving mathematical problems presented narratively. The participants of this study were 121 fifth grade students from five elementary schools in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Student errors were analyzed using the Newman Analysis Method. The Newman Analysis Method grouped students' mistakes into five categories: reading errors, comprehension errors, transformation errors, process skills, and encoding errors. The results of this study indicate that students have comprehension errors were 44.04%, transformation errors were 40.22%, process skills errors were 57.44%, and encoding errors were 57, 44%. Most errors are in problem number three with the type of reading errors. One of the reasons is the ability of students who are still lacking to understand can cause problems at a later stage.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of the Problem Solving approach on the mathematical reasoning abilities of Class V Elementary School students. This research is a quasi-experimental research using one experimental class and one control class. One experimental class, namely SDN Rejondani with a problem solving approach and one control class that was not given treatment, namely SDN Potrojayan II. Learning achievement and mathematical reasoning abilities are measured using test instruments in the form of short answer questions and essay questions. Hypothesis testing using one way ANOVA univariate test. The results showed that problem solving had an effect on mathematical reasoning abilities with a significance value of 0.014 (p > 0.05).

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan penalaran matematis mahasiswa PGSD semester 1 pada materi geometri ruang. Penelitian dilakukan pada 34 mahasiswa dengan menggunakan empat indikator sebagai pengukurnya. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes dan non tes (wawancara) yang kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil analisis penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa mahasiswa mempunyai kemampuan yang baik pada tiga indikator yaitu mengajukan dugaan, melakukan manipulasi matematika dan menyusun bukti dengan presentase rata-rata di atas 50% sedangkan pada indikator menarik kesimpulan dari pernyataan mahasiswa hanya mendapatkan rata-rata presentase sebesar 20.59%.

Abstract

The development of increasingly sophisticated times and supported by the Revolution 5.0 era makes the use of gadgets increasingly important to support daily activities. Apart from providing convenience, gadgets also have a negative impact, especially on elementary school students. Elementary school students who are unable to control themselves when using gadgets become addicted to the features they contain, such as social media and games. This has an impact on low learning achievement and decreased study habits. To overcome this, the first step taken is to carry outreach, to provide direction to related parties in the school, in this case teachers and students. The outreach activity was held on June 13, 2023, at SD Negeri 48 Ternate City. This school was chosen because it is a partner school of the Khairun University Primary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGSD). The hope of this activity is that students can be wiser in using gadgets and cooperation from various parties is formed to be active in making this happen. This outreach activity is published in the form of scientific articles. The wider public can access this article to use as a reference and provide an understanding of the wise use of gadgets for elementary school students.

Abstract

This research is qualitative descriptive research. This study aims to see the extent to which PGSD, FKIP, Khairun University students are capable of preparing Teaching Modules. The instrument used is an instrument in the form of a test. Of the three main components, it was found that students had insufficient knowledge of the enrichment components and worksheets. The average of the results obtained is the general information component of 99.3%, the initial component is 97.3%, and the attachment is 44%. Three main components are used as benchmarks, namely the general information component, the initial component, and the attachments. Both of these components get a percentage of 44% or as many as 11 students do not understand these components so they are not included in making the Teaching Module. There is a need to deepen the material again for students to master making good Teaching Modules. Teaching Modules as a form of planning will also have an impact on learning processes and outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dimana dilakukan pada mahasiswa PGSD semester V dan VII. Subyek penelitian ini berjumlah 30 orang mahasiswa yang mengikuti berbagai macam kegiatan MBKM. Menggunakan instrumen tes, wawancara dan juga menganalisis dokumen dari laporan MBKM mahasiswa, penelitian ini memberikan hasil bahwa pemahaman pada mahasiswa yang mengikuti kegiatan MBKM masih berada pada kategori rendah. Berdasarkan analisis dari tes pemahaman, 10 mahasiswa mampu memahami materi dengan baik sedangkan sisanya belum memenuhi syarat dengan rincian dari 13 CPMK yang diujikan, hanya 3 CPMK yang memenuhi kelayakan pemahaman yaitu dasar-dasar statistika (83, 33%), penyajian data (67%) dan ukuran gejala pusat (67%). Untuk 10 CPMK lainnya memperoleh presentase di bawah 60%. Hasil wawancara juga memperjelas tes pemahaman, rata-rata jawaban yang diberikan oleh mahasiswa menyatakan bahwa praktik kegiatan MBKM mengalami kesulitan dalam konversi mata kuliah statistik pendidikan, kurang pemahaman teori menjadi penyebab utama. Hasil tes pemahaman dan juga wawancara tercermin pada hasil analisis dokumen yang diperoleh dari laporan MBKM yang dikumpulkan, 5 CPL yang harusnya terwujud dalam penjabaran kegiatan kurang terlihat dan tidak semua CPL terwakili kegiatannya.

Abstract

This study aims to describe: the effect of the problem-solving approach on the learning achievement of Class V Elementary School students. This research is quasi-experimental research using one experimental class and one control class. One experimental class, namely SDN Rejondani with a problem-solving approach, and one control class that was not given treatment, namely SDN Potrojayan II. The four stages carried out in the problem-solving approach are understanding the problem (understand), determining the solution (plan), implementing the solution (solve), and checking again (check). Learning achievement is measured using a test instrument in the form of short questions. There are fourteen short answer questions for the pre-test and post-test based on derived learning indicators from the applicable curriculum. Data analysis was performed using the ANOVA test. The results showed that problem-solving had an influence on learning achievement with a significance value of 0.000 (p <0.05). The ANOVA test was followed by a posthoc test using the Bonferroni test with a result of 0.000 which stated that there was a mean difference between the control class and the experimental class. This difference is the basis that problem-solving has an influence on the learning achievement of class V Elementary School.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang dilakukan pada mahasiswa semester IV Program Studi PGSD, Universitas Khairun. Sebanyak 30 mahasiswa melaksanakan peerteaching dalam matakuliah perencanaan pembelajaran SD. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk melihat sejauh mana kompetensi pedagogik yang dimiliki oleh mahasiswa PGSD sebagai calon guru di masa depan. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah rubrik penilaian praktik peerteaching yang terdiri dari 17 komponen. Penilaian dilakukan pada kegiatan perencanaan pembelajaran, perangkat yang digunakan, proses pembelajaran hingga evaluasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian kompetensi pedagogik mahasiswa masih berada pada kategori kurang baik (berada pada skor 3). Dari 17 komponen yang dianalisis, seluruh komponen tersebut tidak ada yang mendapatkan rata-rata skor maksimal. Pada aspek-aspek mendasar seperti menyiapkan kelas, penyampaian materi dan pelaksanaan asesmen mendapatkan total penguasaan yang kurang dari 50% jumlah mahasiswa. Peningkatan kualitas kompetensi pedagogik mahasiswa perlu ditingkatkan melalui pelatihan rutin di dalam kampus maupun diluar kampus.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative descriptive study to measure students' level of comprehension in elementary teacher education at Khairun University toward implementing the principles of the independent curriculum. The independent curriculum makes it easy for teachers and students to conduct learning according to student's needs. Even though it has superior values ​​compared to the previous curriculum, the independent curriculum presents other problems. Therefore, understanding the principles of implementing the curriculum is essential to analyze so that the difficulties faced by students are immediately known as a preventive measure. The subjects of this research were 30 students in semester IV. The instruments used were tests and interviews. The test instrument consists of 36 description questions and an interview consisting of five main questions. Based on the test results, it was found that students needed to understand the implementation of the principles of the independent curriculum well. All students needed more understanding, starting from the learning components, implementation, and final evaluation. The interview results also strengthened the comprehension test results. Students said that limitations in seeking additional information and different learning and assessment processes confused them with the independent curriculum. One of the solutions is special training and assistance for students to develop independent curriculum products such as teaching modules or student worksheets as instruments in carrying out assessments.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) yang dilakukan oleh Tim Fakultas Keguruan & Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP), Universitas Khairun merupakan kegiatan sosialisasi penulisan karya tulis ilmiah. Sosialisasi ini dilakukan berdasarkan kesulitan para guru di sekolah dasar dalam membuat karya tulis ilmiah. Khususnya pada guru-guru SDN 47 Kota Ternate sebagai salah satu mitra FKIP. Penulisan karya tulis ilmiah penting dilakukan untuk mendukung karir guru. Namun hal ini tidak sejalan dengan praktiknya karena tidak banyak guru yang mempunyai karya tulisan ilmiah. Guru sebagai praktisi yang bersentuhan langsung dengan kegiatan pembelajaran seharusnya dapat menuliskan fenomena-fenomena yang ada di dalam maupun di luar kelas. Ketidaksesuaian tersebut yang menjadi landasan diadakannya sosialiasi penulisan karya tulis ilmiah pada SDN 47 Kota Ternate. Tujuan sosialisasi ini agar para guru dapat mengetahui langkah-langkah penulisan karya tulis ilmiah dengan benar. Kegiatan sosialisasi dilakukan dengan diadakannya pertemuan bersama para guru dan menghadirkan pemateri yang kompeten. Hasil dari pengabdian masyarakat pada sosialisasi ini adalah para guru mendapatkan pemahaman bagaimana penulisan karya tulis ilmiah dilakukan. Serta dari evaluasi singkat kegiatan melalui angket yang disebar menggunakan google form, diperoleh bahwa perlu adanya kegiatan lanjutan. Sebanyak 91,67% peserta menyetujui apabila tim PKM mengadakan kegiatan kembali terutama dengan topik menunjang karir guru.
