Abstract

Based on Van Hiele's level of thinking, this study intends to investigate students' ability to solve geometric problems. Polya's heuristic of problem-solving steps is used to assess problem-solving ability. A qualitative, descriptive study is the form of research used in this case. The Van Hiele Geometry Test (VHGT), problem-solving aptitude assessments, and interviews were used. Based on Van Hiele's level of thinking, researchers chose three students from a group of 27 students in grade VIII high junior school Terpadu Sheikh Muhammad Ja'far as research subjects. Data collection methods include tests and interviews. Data condensation, data presentation, conclusion drafting, and verification are all research data analysis approaches. The validity of the data is verified using a triangulation of techniques and sources. The findings of the study are: subjects at the pre 0 level only have visual, verbal, and drawing skills. Subjects at level 0 (visualization) were not able to solve the four problem-solving heuristics by Polya. Subjects at level 1 (analysis) were able to reach the second stage of the problem-solving heuristic by Polya. Subjects at level 2 (informal deduction reached the third stage of the problem-solving heuristic by Polya.

Abstract

Dunia kerja membutuhkan karyawan yang lebih siap di bidang STEM dan Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) yang lebih melek STEM, salah satu faktor penyebab mengapa pendidikan STEM mendapat perhatian yang semakin meningkat. Penelitian eksperimen dengan menggunakan one Group Pretest Posttest Design, Peserta penelitian merupakan siswa kelas 8 SMP unggulan yang berada di Kota Makassar, Sulawesi Selatan. Siswa (N = 94), Laki-laki (L=47), perempuan (P= 47). Tujuan dari penelitian untuk mengamati efektivitas peran STEM-PBL pada pembelajaran matematika dalam meningkatkan kemampuan ranah kognitif dan afektif siswa di tingkat sekolah menengah pertama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran matematika efektif melalui penerapan STEM-PBL pada siswa kelas VIII SMP yang ditinjau dari hasil pemecahan matematika siswa dan aktivitas siswa selama proses pembelajaran. Peran STEM-PBL mampu meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa. Temuan dalam penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa selama penerapan STEM-PBL, siswa menunjukkan keterlibatan ranah afektif seperti attitude, emotion, self-acknowledgement dan beliefs. Self-Acknowledgement memegang peranan penting dalam meningkatkan pembelajaran STEM PBL.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VIII SMPN 26 Makassar dalam pembelajaran matematika ditinjau dari gaya belajar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII.2 SMPN 26 Makassar sebanyak 3 siswa yang terdiri dari 1 siswa dengan gaya belajar visual, 1 siswa dengan gaya belajar auditori dan 1 siswa dengan gaya belajar kinestetik. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu angket gaya belajar, tes kemampuan berpikir kritis berupa soal sistem persamaan linear dua variabel dan pedoman wawancara. Adapun tekknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penetian menunjukkan bahwa semua subjek mampu mencapai indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis yang berjumlah 6 indikator. Dilihat dari hasil analisis data dapat diketahui bahwa subjek dengan gaya belajar visual (SV), subjek gaya belajar auditori (SA) dan subjek gaya belajar kinestetik (SK) mampu memenuhi semua indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis.

Abstract

The large number of rice fields in Borikamase Village, resulting in high production of hay, requires an appropriate effort to use straw into organic fertilizer or bokashi which is environmentally friendly as well as safe for plants. The use of straw into bokashi or organic fertilizer needs to be taught to the farming community, so the community service team focuses on providing assistance and training to the community in utilizing straw as a raw material in making bokashi by using microorganisms as the source of fermentation. In addition, the high price of synthetic fertilizers on the market makes farmers in Borikamase Village feel heavy in providing nutritional supplies to their agricultural areas, so that this training is expected to help farmers by obtaining fertilizers that are cheap, safe, and of good quality to fertilize. The existence of biotechnology applications, provides the right solution in overcoming the damage to bald mountains and the scarcity and high price of synthetic fertilizers, namely by processing straw into bokashi or organic fertilizers with high nutrient content and are safe for the environment. In addition, providing knowledge and skills for farming communities as agents of reform in restoring ecosystem balance through the application of bokashi made of straw on rice fields.
