Abstract

The problem addressed in this study is the mismatch between teachers’ existing competencies and the demands of the industry, particularly in smart building control systems, resulting in graduates lacking these essential skills. This study aims to enhance teachers’ professional competencies in smart building control systems through targeted training using smart building technology. A pre-experimental method was employed with one experimental class consisting of 16 teacher participants, using tests to assess knowledge and questionnaires to evaluate skills. The results were analyzed using paired-sample t-tests and effect size calculations, revealing significant improvements in both teachers’ knowledge and skills after the training. Furthermore, the large effect size indicates that the training had a substantial impact on enhancing competencies. These findings suggest that structured and precise training can effectively improve teachers’ knowledge and skills in emerging industrial technologies, which in turn positively influences the quality of education and increases graduates’ competitiveness in the labor market.

Abstract

Abstract

Difficulty in locating veins often poses a challenge in medical procedures such as intravenous catheterization or blood sampling, especially in children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly. This study designed and developed a vein detection device based on an Arduino Uno, utilizing a high-power LED (HPL) as the primary light source for locating veins. The device is equipped with a TTP223 touch sensor as the LED activation trigger and a PWM module to adjust light intensity according to the user's skin characteristics. The testing process was conducted on various age groups (children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly), with results showing that the device can clearly display veins, particularly in adolescents, adults, and the elderly, with optimal light intensity above 900 lux. The lowest average intensity was found in the children's group, indicating the need for more adaptive intensity adjustments. The device demonstrated stable and responsive performance and can assist medical personnel in accelerating the process of vein detection in a non-invasive, practical, and economical manner.

Abstract

Solar energy is one of the renewable energy sources that has great potential in Indonesia, due to its abundant availability and zero greenhouse gas emissions. However, the performance of solar panels can degrade due to high temperatures generated by continuous exposure to sunlight. This research aims to design and implement an effective cooling system to increase the output power of solar panels. The system is designed with a real time remote monitoring feature using the Blynk application, and is equipped with an automatic data logging  system  into  Google  Sheets.  The  cooling  mechanism  is carried out by spraying water onto the surface of the solar panel which is activated based on a predetermined temperature threshold value (set point). The test results show that the system is able to reduce  the  panel  temperature  by  5.46°C  and  increase  the  output power  by  1.76  W.  The  ratio  of  power  increase  to  temperature decrease is recorded at 3.1 W/°C, which proves that the system is effective   in   keeping   the   panel   temperature   below   40°C   and contributes significantly to the improvement of solar panel performance

Abstract

The development of information technology is growing so rapidly, so that many sophisticated telecommunications or communication tools have emerged such as television, cellular, radio, telegram and so on, but there are still written applications that cannot be forgotten until now. This written application is still used as if it cannot be replaced by various sophisticated communication equipment, namely letters. The use of letters is still found in many institutions, but there are still errors in the management process, especially at the Nahdlatul Ulama University, West Sumatra. with the background of the problem, the author will design an E-Office application at the Nahdlatul Ulama University of West Sumatra. The E-Office application is an online correspondence application that aims to help facilitate mail management activities at the Nahdlatul Ulama University of West Sumatra. This digital system is present as a solution to the problems that arise in the correspondence process which is still done manually at the Nahdlatul Ulama University of West Sumatra, so that the correspondence process at the Nahdlatul Ulama University of West Sumatra is still slow in its management. By building an E-Office application at the Nahdlatul Ulama University of West Sumatra, hopefully it can help, speed up and make it easier for the Nahdlatul Ulama University of West Sumatra to process correspondence. In making this E-Office application, the applications used are XAMPP, PHP, Database and other supporting applications.

Abstract

This study investigated the design of learning in a virtual laboratory through collaborative inquiry and its effect on student knowledge. Learning design produces learning models that are measured based on validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The research method uses research and development that produces products and product effectiveness. The trial results were conducted on a small scale on eight students to measure the quality of student learning. To test the validity of the product through expert assistance, all the answers of the validator were calculated using Aiken's V validity coefficient. Further findings implied that students have begun to accept technology as a learning tool and provided opportunities for universities in learning development.
