Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of online learning based on problem based learning (PBL) on cognitive learning outcomes in modern sociology theory courses.The research method used is an experiment that involves a one group pretest posttest design. The research population is students of sociology education at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. The sample was determined purposively and obtained by 3rd semester students in the modern sociology theory course. The independent variable is PBL-based online learning, while the dependent variable is cognitive learning outcomes. The instrument was tested for construct validity through expert judgment and empirical validation was carried out by testing the instrument on students who had already received material on modern sociological theory. Before being used in experimental research, the data was tested for validity and reliability.The results showed that there was an effect of PBL-based online learning on cognitive learning outcomes, namely through hypothesis testing using a t-test at a significance level of 5%, obtained a t-value of 12.895 in class A and a t-value of 8.547 in class B, with the acquisition of each significance of 0.00 is smaller than 0.05. So, class A used PBL with t count t table (12,8952,048) and class B used PBL with t count t table (8,5472,048). So H0 is rejected, so it can be concluded that PBL-based online learning is able to improve cognitive learning outcomes.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi karakteristik dasar literasi digital dan relasi sosial generasi milenial di Banten. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei. Pertanyaan terkait dengan literasi digital terbagi atas tiga kelompok, yaitu mengenai penggunaan perangkat, strategi membaca, dan strategi verifikasi informasi. Sementara pertanyaan terkait dengan relasi sosial terdiri dari bagaimana informan melakukan interaksi sosial, bagaimana kepeduliannya terhadap pandangan masyarakat terhadap dirinya, dan bagaimana relasi informan dalam kelompok.Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa generasi milenial Banten memiliki karakteristik dasar literasi digital: (1) generasi milenial Banten mengandalkan buku sebagai sumber informasi; (2) bentuk visual informasi mulai dari yang paling disukai generasi milenial Banten ialah video; (3) gaya membaca generasi milenial Banten yang terbanyak ialah dengan menggunakan kata kunci atau fokus tertentu; (4) strategi verifikasi informasi generasi milenial Banten ialah dengan membandingkan sumber. Sementara pada karakteristik relasi sosial generasi milenial Banten ditemukan bahwa generasi milenial Banten lebih menyukai interaksi langsung dalam melakukan interaksi sosial, dan generasi milenial lebih menyukai aktivitas komunal dan aktif dalam kegiatan kelompok.Dengan demikian karakteristik generasi milenial di tingkat lokal Banten tidak sepenuhnya sama dengan karakteristik literasi digital maupun relasi sosial yang menjadi arusutama pandangan masyarakat luas maupun yang dijadikan dasar pengambilan kebijakan. Dengan begitu perlu dilakukan evaluasi secara menyeluruh atas keputusan perubahan yang menyandarkan diri pada generalisasi karakteristik generasi.Kata kunci: literasi digital, relasi sosial, pembangunan manusia, generasi milenial, sosiologi pembangunan.ABSTRACTThis study aims to explore the basic characteristics Banten’s millennial generation of digital literacy and social relations. This research uses survey method. Questions related to digital literacy are divided into three groups, namely regarding the use of devices, reading strategies, and information verification strategies. While the questions related to social relations consist of how the informant conducts social interaction, how concerned about the public's view of him, and how the informant's relations within the group.The results of this study found that Banten's millennial generation has the basic characteristics of digital literacy: (1) Banten's millennial generation relies on books as a source of information; (2) the visual form of information starting from the most preferred Banten millennial generation is video; (3) Banten's most millennial generation reading style is by using certain keywords or focus; (4) Banten millennial generation information verification strategy is to compare sources. While on the characteristics of Banten millennial generation social relations it is found that the Banten millennial generation prefers direct interaction in carrying out social interactions, and millennial generation prefers communal and active activities in group activities.Thus the characteristics of millennial generation at the local level in Banten are not entirely the same as the characteristics of digital literacy and social relations which are the main stream of view of the wider community and are used as the basis for policy making. In this way, it is necessary to conduct a thorough evaluation of the change decisions that rely on generalizing generational characteristics.Keywords: digital literacy, social relation, human development, millennial generation, sociology of development.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has an impact on the activities of student organizations, this be seen from the various obstacles they face in carrying out organizational activities. This study intends to determine the social capital in the sociology Education Student Association (Himadiksio)Kabinet Inspiratif in carrying out organizational activities in the Covid-19 pandemic. Determination on informans in this study using nonprobability sampling with purposive sampling technique with subject who are students of Sociology Education who are members of the Sociology Education Student Associaton (Himadiksio) Kabinet Inspiratif. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research. Retrieval of data through interviews and documentation. In examining this paper used social capital theory. The sosial capital in the Sosiology Education Student Association (Himadiksio) Kabinet Inspiratif is a believe, social norms and social network. With this social capital in the Sociology Education Student Association (Himadiksio) can survive and carry out various work programs in the Covid-19 pandemic and achieve the organizational goals that have been declared.

Abstract

Dampak pandemi covid-19 pada sektor pendidikan ialah pelaksanaan pembelajaran jarak jauh secara daring. Hal itu mereduksi sistem pendidikan dari berbagai aspek termasuk dimensi sosial. Aktivitas sosial yang biasa terjadi di sekolah tidak memungkinkan dilakukan sehingga terjadi hambatan terhadap proses sosial secara langsung antar siswa. Oleh karena itu,  Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan bagaimana relasi sosial siswa SMA lokal Banten dalam situasi Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh (PJJ) di tengah pandemi covid-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu: kuantitas interaksi langsung tatap muka bersifat jarang dan tidak sukarela. Interaksi tidak langsung melalui media teknologi bersifat intens dan terjalin keakraban pada pola interaksi tidak langsung secara online.

Abstract

This article aims to explore the embeddedness both the millennial generation to the internet in daily activities and education at the local level. This research uses concurrent mixed methods with a survey and interview strategy simultaneously. The results showed the uniqueness of the Banten millennial generation’s engagement with the internet as follows: (i) informants learned to use the internet more by themselves; (ii) they use internet more for social media; (iii) they still like shopping and use conventional modes of transportation; (iv) most of them cannot carry out their daily activities without the internet; (v) daily activities are undertaken without an agenda but have a specific target. Furthermore, in the interaction between technology and education, it is found: (i) technology is related to information seeking for the millennial generation; (ii) they prefer to find information through browsing; (iii) only a small proportion of them have experimental learning attitudes; (iv) the majority of the millennial generation views that the existence of teachers is still the main factor in learning.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan  untuk  mendeskripsikan  pembangunan  karakter  melalui  penanaman  nilai  demokrasi dan nasionalisme peserta didik melalui kurikulum tersembunyi. Metode penelitian yang  digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan strategi studi kasus. Lokasi penelitian ialah di SMAN CMBBS  Pandeglang, Banten. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, (1) terdapatnya praktik pembangunan karakter  melalui  penanaman  nilai  demokrasi  dan  nasionalisme  beserta  kearifan  lokal  pada  peserta  didik  melalui kurikulum tersembunyi. (2) Nilai-nilai demokrasi yang dikembangkan dalam pembelajaran  adalah  sebagai  berikut:  pemahaman  hak  dan  kewajiban;  keberanian  berargumentasi;  mampu  membuat  kesepakatan;  memiliki  toleransi;  menghormati  pendapat;  mampu  memimpin;  bertanggungjawab;  dan  memiliki  rasa  persatuan.  (3)  Nilai-nilai  nasionalisme  yang  dikembangkan  dalam  pembelajaran  untuk  membentuk  perilaku  siswa  ialah  berupa:  taat  dengan  aturan  di  lingkungan sekolah; perilaku jujur; tanggung jawab; toleransi; saling menghargai dan menghormati;  disiplin; religius; mandiri; demokratis; cinta tanah air; dan peduli dengan teman.Kata Kunci: kurikulum tersembunyi, pendidikan demokratis, nasionalisme, pendidikan.AbstractThis  study  aims  to  describe  the  development  of  character  through  the  cultivation  of  democratic  values and  nationalism  of  learners  through  a  hidden  curriculum.  The  research  method  used  is  qualitative  with  case  study  strategy.  The  research  location  is  at  SMAN  CMBBS  Pandeglang,  Banten. The results show, (1) the existence of character building practices through the inculcation  of  democratic  values and  nationalism  along  with  local  wisdom  to  learners  through  the  hidden  curriculum.  (2)  The  values of  democracy  developed  in  learning  are  as  follows:  understanding  of  rights and obligations; courage to argue; able to make a deal; have tolerance; respect for opinion;  able to lead; to be responsible; and have a sense of unity. (3) The values of nationalism developed  in  learning  to  shape  student  behavior  are  in  the  form  of:  abiding  by  the  rules  in  the  school  environment;  honest  behavior;  responsible;  tolerance;  mutual  respect  and  respect;  discipline;  religious; independent; democratic; love the homeland; and caring with friends.Keywords: hidden curriculum, democratic education, nationalism, education.

Abstract

AbstrakArtikel ini merupakan hasil penelitian yang  menggunakan metode Research and Development (R & D). Tujuan penelitian ialah untuk mengetahui efektifivitas  bahan ajar berbasis Web pada Mata Kuliah Pembangunan dan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat. Bahan Ajar Berbasis Web sebelum digunakan, telah melalui tahapan validasi yang dilakukan oleh ahli media dan ahli materi. Setelah di validasi oleh ahli media dan ahli materi, kemudian bahan ajar berbasis web di uji cobakan pada mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Sosiologi Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, tahapan uji coba meliputi ujicoba terbatas dan ujcoba secara luas.Uji Keefektifan Bahan Ajar menggunakan t test (Uji- t) pada taraf signifikansi 5% , diperoleh  thitung sebesar 42,566 dan ttabel sebesar 2,064. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa thitung> ttabel .Dapat disimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar berbasis web terbukti efektif pada mata kuliah pembangunan dan pemberdayaan masyarakat.Kata Kunci: pembangunan dan pemberdayaan masyarakat, sosiologi pembangunan, pembelajaran berbasis web. AbstractThis article was the result of research using the Research and Development (R & D) method. The purpose of the study was to determine the effectiveness of Web-based teaching materials in the Development and Community Empowerment Course. Web Based Learning Materials before being used, have gone through the stages of validation carried out by media experts and material experts. After being validated by media experts and material experts, then Web-based teaching materials were tested on students of the Department of Sociology Education at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University, the stages of the trial included limited trials and extensive trials.Teaching Materials Effectiveness Test using t test (t-test) at the significance level of 5%, obtained tcount of 42.566 and t table of 2.064 This indicates that tcount> t table.Conclution of this study is that Web-Based Teaching Materials proved effective in development and community empowerment courses.Keywords: development and community empowerment, sociology of development, web-based learning

Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menginformasikan strategi eksistensi pencak silat bandrong di tengah industri kebudayaan. Ini dilakukan dengan mencaritahu bagaimana pencak silat bandrong dapat menjadi representasi budaya lokal dan menjalani reproduksi sosial di masyarakat, dinamika perkembangan bandrong hingga akhirnya eksistensi bandrong di dalam masyarakat Banten modern. Penelitian ini menggunakan mix methods, dengan teknik embedded konkuren. Metode kuantitatif dilekatkan atau disarangkan ke dalam metode yang lebih dominan (metode kualitatif). Kriteria pemilihan informan terbagi menjadi 3: (1) penggiat Pencak Silat Bandrong dan memiliki jabatan di organisasi; (2) penggiat pencak silat yang tidak memiliki jabatan organisasi,dan ; (3) bukan penggiat pencak silat dan bukan dari organisasi independen. Strategi Eksistensi Pencak Silat Bandrong di tengah industri kebudayaan dapat ditemukan pada hal-hal berikut. Pertama, sejarah dan nilai nilai berupa keagamaan atau religiusitas, nilai kebudayaan, dan nilai sosial atau kepedulian terhadap masyarakat menjadi cerminan keterlekatan Bandrong dengan perkembangan masyarakat lokal. Kondisi ini menjadikan Bandrong dapat dilihat sebagai representasi budaya lokal Banten. Kedua, dalam dinamika perkembangan bandrong terbentuk organisasi formal pencak silat bandrong struktural yang mendukung eksistensi dan juga ekspansi bandrong di masyarakat. Ketiga, terdapat dua jenis bandrong; struktural dan kultural, dimana kedua nya saling bersinergi yang mendukung perkembangan pencak silat bandronbg. Keempat, bandrong dapat bertahan dan tidak sepenuhnya masuk dalam arus industri kebudayaan namun tetap memperkuat eksistensinya di masyarakat. Seperti dengan reproduksi sosial bandrong melalui pendidikan formal, informal, non formal maupun melalui lembaga pemerintahan.Kata-kata Kunci: pencak silat bandrong; kultural; struktural; industri budaya. Abstract The purpose of this study is to inform the strategy of the existence of pencak silat bandrong in the midst of the cultural industry. This is done by finding out how pencak silat bandrong can be a representation of local culture and undergoing social reproduction in the community, the dynamics of bandrong development until finally the existence of bandrong in modern Banten society. This research uses mix methods, with concurrent embedded techniques. Quantitative methods are embedded or nested into more dominant methods (qualitative methods). Criteria for selecting informants is divided into 3: (1) activists of Pencak Silat Bandrong and have positions in the organization; (2) pencak silat activists who do not have organizational positions, and; (3) not a pencak silat activist and not from an independent organization. The Existence Strategy of Pencak Silat Bandrong in the middle of the culture industry can be found in the following matters. First, history and values in the form of religion or religiosity, cultural values, and social values or concern for the community are a reflection of Bandrong's attachment to the development of local communities. This condition makes Bandrong can be seen as a representation of the local culture of Banten. Secondly, in the dynamics of bandrong development a formal organization of structural bandrong pencak silat was formed that supported the existence and expansion of the bandrong in society. Third, there are two types of bandrong; structural and cultural, where the two work together to support the development of pencak silat bandronbg. Fourth, bandrong can survive and not fully enter the flow of the culture industry but still strengthen its existence in society. As with bandrong social reproduction through formal, informal, non-formal education or through government institutions.Keywords: pencak silat bandrong, cultural, structural, cultural industry.

Abstract

AbstrakStudi ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana relasi sosial dan relasi gender dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas maupun aktifitas dan interaksi sosial antara siswa dengan guru mata pelajaran sosiologi maupun dengan keseluruhan masyarakat SMA Negeri Cahaya Madani Banten Boarding School (SMA N CMBBS). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan lokasi penelitian di SMA N CMBBS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seleksi SMA N CMBBS yang cukup ketat membuat latar belakang siswa-siswi beragam seperti tidak memiliki kedekatan kekeluargaan maupun kemampuan finasial. Relasi sosial antar siswa yang tinggal di satu asrama lebih kuat dibandingkan dengan yang lain. Kelas sosial tidak mempengaruhi proses pembelajaran dan penggunaan fasilitas. Terjadi persaingan positif diantara siswa seperti persaingan prestasi, pemilihan Osis, dan pemilihan ketua organisasi lainnya di lingkungan sekolah. Selain itu dalam kesetaraan gender, secara diskursus telah dipahami secara baik oleh sebagian guru dan juga siswa SMA N CMBBS, meski nilai-nilai islami yang menjadi dasar dalam setiap aktifitas baik siswa maupun sekolah membuat terjadinya perbedaan antara siswa laki-laki dengan perempuan, terutama dalam kepemimpinan.Kata Kunci: relasi gender, relasi sosial, kurikulum tersembunyi.AbstractThis study aims to describe how social relations and gender relations in the process of learning in the classroom as well as social activities and interactions between students with sociology subject teachers and with the whole community SMA Negeri Cahaya Madani Banten Boarding School (SMA N CMBBS). The research method used is qualitative with research location in SMA N CMBBS. The results showed that the selection of SMA N CMBBS is quite strict to make the background of students as diverse as not having closeness kinship and financial ability. Social relationships among students living in one dormitory are stronger than others. Social class does not affect the learning process and the use of facilities. There is a positive competition among students such as achievement competition, Osis election, and election of other organizations in the school. In addition, in gender equality, the discourse has been well understood by some teachers and high school students of N CMBBS, although the Islamic values that form the basis of every activity both students and schools make the difference between male and female students, especially in leadership. Abstract

AbstrakMenyebarnya budaya populer Korea ke Indonesia menyebabkan timbulnya tindakan konsumtif di kalangan penggemarnya. Termasuk mahasiswa FKIP Untirta yang juga tidak lepas dari pengaruh gelombang Korea tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan menggambarkan pembentukan konsep diri mahasiswa Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa yang menggemari budaya populer Korea. Budaya populer Korea yang dimaksud adalah drama Korea dan musik K-Pop. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tenik observasi, wawancara terstruktur dan mendalam, serta dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari lima belas mahasiswa penggemar budaya populer Korea yang terbagi menjadi tiga karakteristik yaitu penggemar drama Korea, penggemar musik K-pop, serta penggemar drama Korea dan musik K-pop. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa mahasiswa penggemar budaya populer Korea melakukan tindakan konsumsi berupa makanan, pakaian, riasan dan merchandise K-pop. Dalam pikiran (Mind), penggemar budaya populer Korea memberikan pemaknaan terhadap drama Korea dan musik K-pop sebagai hiburan dan impian. Sebagai diri (Self) yang terbagi menjadi aku (I) dan diriku (Me), penggemar budaya populer Korea melakukan tindakan yang spontan seperti melakukan fanwar dan terkontrol dengan cara memikirkan kembali tindakan yang telah dilakukannya. Di masyarakat (Society) yaitu lingkungan kampus Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, penggemar budaya populer Korea berinteraksi dengan sesama penggemar maupun non-penggemar.Kata kunci: Mahasiswa, Budaya Populer Korea, Konsep Diri. Abstract The spread of popular Korean culture to Indonesia has led to the emergence of consumptive actions among fans. Including FKIP Untirta students who are also not free from the influence of the Korean wave. This study aims to describe Forming of Self-Concept of College Student are Fans of Korean Popular Culture at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. The Korean popular culture in question is Korean drama and K-Pop music. This type of research uses a qualitative descriptive method. The technique of collecting data uses observation, structured and in-depth interviews, and documentation. The subject of the study consisted of fifteen students fans of Korean popular culture who were divided into three characteristics, namely fans of Korean drama, K-pop music fans, and fans of Korean drama and K-pop music. The results showed that students of Korean popular culture carried out consumption actions in the form of food, clothing, makeup and K-pop merchandise. In Mind, fans of Korean popular culture give meaning to Korean drama and K-pop music as entertainment and dreams. As Self which is divided into I and Me, fans of Korean popular culture take spontaneous actions such as doing fanwar and being controlled by rethinking the actions they have taken. In Society, namely the environment of the Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University, fans of Korean popular culture interact with fellow fans and non-fans.Keywords: Students, Korean Popular Culture, Self-Concept.
