Abstract

Disability is any condition of the body or mind that makes it more difficult for the person with the condition to do certain activities and interact with the world around them. Persons with disabilities need assistance in various fields related to their limitations to improve their quality of life. Either area that needs to be optimized to fulfill the rights of persons with disabilities is inclusive education. Brawijaya University supports inclusive education by establishing an organizational institution called Pusat Studi dan Layanan Disabilitas Universitas Brawijaya (PSLD UB). PSLD UB provides peer tutoring services by involving non-disabled students (volunteers) to assist students with disabilities during academic activities. So far, the process of implementing peer tutoring has often encountered problems due to schedule changes or other unexpected activities, causing schedule mismatches between volunteers and students with disabilities. To fulfill disability rights, it’s necessary to have a digital solution in peer tutoring activities, while to design the solution it’s necessary to analyze the right user requirements. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to analyze user requirements to optimize user experience, so that developers can use it to develop peer tutoring systems. This study applies a User Journey Map to analyze user requirements to know the description of the user's steps in achieving the goal. The selection of respondents was based on purposive sampling technique with the criteria of respondents who had carried out the peer tutoring process. From the results of this study, it was found three main features that suit user requirements are automatic replacement, emergency requests, and list of available volunteers.

Abstract

This research investigates the correlation between service quality, user experience, and user satisfaction in website design for students with low vision disabilities undergoing final assignment guidance at Brawijaya University. Using a quantitative approach via questionnaires, data was collected from students and relevant academics at the Disability Service Center. Analysis revealed a positive and significant relationship between service quality and user experience, with service quality also impacting user satisfaction. Moreover, user experience partially mediated the relationship between service quality and user satisfaction. This study contributes to understanding the dynamics of website design for this demographic, emphasizing the pivotal role of user experience in enhancing satisfaction, particularly among individuals with disabilities. Organizations, especially Disability Service Centers, can utilize these findings to enhance website accessibility and academic support. However, limitations include sample size constraints and the singular institutional focus, suggesting avenues for future research to broaden the scope and depth of understanding through qualitative methods.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to explore the relationships between entrepreneurial orientation (EO), market orientation, product innovation, and competitive advantage within Muslim clothing SMEs. This study provides insights into how these factors interact and contribute to the overall success of these enterprises.Methodology – This quantitative study explores the relationships between entrepreneurial orientation, market orientation, product innovation, and competitive advantage in the Muslim clothing industry. Using a proportional sample of 103 employees from Muslim clothing SMEs in East Java, data were collected through a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed via multiple regression to assess direct and mediating effects.Findings – The key findings reveal that entrepreneurial orientation positively impacts product innovation, indicating that entrepreneurial companies are more innovative. Additionally, EO significantly influences market orientation, making firms more responsive to their market needs. EO enhances competitive advantage, whereas market orientation negatively impacts it, suggesting that excessive focus on the market may hinder differentiation. Conversely, product innovation positively affects a firm’s competitive advantage. The study finds that market orientation does not mediate the relationship between EO and competitive advantage, whereas product innovation does.Implications – These findings provide practical insights for SMEs in the Muslim clothing industry. Companies should cultivate entrepreneurial orientation to boost innovation and competitive advantage, balancing market orientation to avoid stifling differentiation. Originality – This study contributes to the literature by investigating the intricate relationships between EO, market orientation, product innovation, and competitive advantage in Muslim Clothing SMEs, emphasizing the mediating role of product innovation.

Abstract

This article examines the role of money in Islamic economics based on the thoughts of Abu Ubaid (154-224 H) as outlined in Kitab Al-Amwal, addressing contemporary economic issues related to wealth distribution and financial transparency in public management. The primary aim of this study is to explore Abu Ubaid’s ideas on the central importance of justice as a foundation of economic systems, particularly regarding the proper function of money within a just and transparent framework. Utilizing a qualitative, literature-based analytical method, this article reviews Abu Ubaid’s view that money serves two main roles: as a standard of value for pricing goods and services, and as a medium of exchange that facilitates trade without encouraging hoarding. Abu Ubaid argued that money should not be a means for excessive wealth accumulation but should be used to maintain economic balance and promote the welfare of society. The findings suggest that Abu Ubaid’s principles offer practical guidance for policymakers in designing an inclusive and sustainable Islamic economic system that addresses inequality and promotes equitable wealth distribution. His insights provide a valuable contribution to the development of Islamic economics, prioritizing justice, efficiency, and transparency, and presenting a relevant alternative to conventional economic systems.

Abstract

This study investigates the direct and indirect effects of digital transformation and climate change awareness on SME financial performance, with green technology adoption serving as a mediating variable. Drawing from stakeholder theory and the resource-based view, this research addresses a key gap in understanding how digital and environmental initiatives interact within halal-oriented small businesses. Empirical data from 192 halal food SME owners and managers in East Java were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) across 32 indicators. Findings reveal that digital transformation significantly enhances both green technology adoption and financial performance, underscoring its strategic value in expanding market access and operational efficiency. While climate change awareness strongly encourages green technology adoption, it lacks a direct financial impact. Notably, green technology adoption shows a negative effect on financial performance, likely due to high initial costs and integration challenges. The study contributes to the literature by demonstrating the complex trade-offs between environmental innovation and profitability in emerging market SMEs. It suggests that digital strategies may serve as a bridge toward sustainability without undermining financial goals. Practical implications include the need for targeted government incentives and support mechanisms to offset green transition costs and bolster competitive resilience in halal food SMEs.
