Abstract

Student literacy ability of Indonesian Literature Study Program in Ahmad Dahlan University still lacks attention and handling. This resulted in a low ability of students in literacy literacy skills. While literacy skills can help students to develop critical thinking, divergent thinking, and positive thinking in solving problems. As scholars, prospective scientists and agents of change, students are required to master literacy skills and critical thinking in facing the 21st century's fierce competition. Literacy ability in question here is literacy in the broad sense of being aware of technology, conscious of information, thinking critically, and sensitive to the environment. A person is said to have literacy skills if he is able to understand something because he reads the right information and does something based on his understanding of the contents of the reading. The use of the internet in literary learning is considered to be used as one of the learning models which is supposed to be able to foster independence in learning Popular Literature. To examine the learning process of Wattpad-based Popular Literature, this study uses the mixed methods approach. The results of the study show that the Wattpad application can help students to sharpen literacy skills. The use of Wattpad is considered to provide an interesting learning experience for students.AbstrakKemampuan literasi mahasiswa Prodi Sastra Indonesia Universitas Ahmad Dahlan masih kurang mendapatkan perhatian dan penanganan. Hal ini mengakibatkan rendahnya kemampuan mahasiswa dalam kemampuan literasi baca tulis. Sementara kemampuan literasi dapat membantu mahasiswa untuk mengembangkan berpikir kritis, divergent thinking, dan positive thinking dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Sebagai insan cendekia, calon ilmuwan dan agen perubahan, mahasiswa dituntut untuk menguasai kemampuan literasi serta berfikir kritis dalam menghadapi persaingan ketat abad ke-21. Kemampuan literasi yang dimaksud adalah keberaksaraan atau literasi dalam arti luas yaitu sadar akan teknologi, sadar informasi, berpikir kritis, dan peka terhadap lingkungan. Seorang dikatakan memiliki kemampuan literasi jika ia sudah bisa memahami sesuatu karena membaca informasi yang tepat dan melakukan sesuatu berdasarkan pemahamannya terhadap isi bacaan tersebut. Pemanfaatan internet dalam pembelajaran sastra dinilai dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu model pembelajaran yang disinyalir bisa menumbuhkan kemandirian dalam pembelajaran Sastra Populer. Untuk mengkaji tentang proses pembelajaran Sastra Populer berbasis Wattpad, penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan mixed methods. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi Wattpad dapat membantu mahasiswa dalam mengasah keterampilan literasi baca tulis. Penggunaan Wattpad dinilai dapat memberikan pengalaman belajar yang menarik bagi mahasiswa.

Abstract

This study discusses the structure and characteristics of the Director General of Higher Education’s circular letter on the appeal for online learning and socialization of the Job Creation Law. The purpose of this study is to reveal inequality or the existence of domination and marginalized parties through the structure and characteristics of Teun A. van Dijk's critical discourse analysis model. This is a qualitative descriptive research. The results of the study indicate that there are parties who dominate or have power, namely the Ministry of Education and Culture, higher education leaders, and students became those who are marginalized.AbstrakPenelitian ini berisi pembahasan tentang struktur dan karakteristik Surat Edaran Dirjen Dikti kepada pimpinan perguruan tinggi mengenai imbauan pembelajaran secara daring dan sosialiasi Undang-Undang Cipta Kerja. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengungkap ketidaksetaraan atau adanya pihak yang mendominasi dan pihak yang terpinggirkan melalui struktur dan karakteristik analisis wacana kritis model Teun A. van Dijk. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada pihak yang mendominasi atau berkuasa, yakni Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan dan pimpinan perguruan tinggi, dan pihak yang terpinggirkan, yaitu mahasiswa.

Abstract

The low literacy of children in Indonesia is quite alarming because it can affect the competence of critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration that Indonesian children should have. One of the effective ways to ensure that the 4C competency mastery is achieved is by improving and fostering the reading literacy skills of Indonesian children. The purpose of this community service activity is to introduce children literature to children with the aim of increasing their interest in reading and literacy from an early age. It is hoped that in the future, by knowing and reading various literary works, moral values and the cultivation of good character can be given to children. By carrying out this training, it is hoped that students can produce a simple children's work / story in the form of an anthology work. The method of implementing this activity is divided into three stages, namely; the preparation stage, the implementation stage, and the final reporting stage. This activity involved two students, namely Rida Alifia (Indonesian Literature Department) and Andini Mandala Putri (English Literature Department). The community service activity partner is SD Negeri Gentan, and community service activity is conducted in SD Negeri Gentan on 21 November 2020, 28 November 2020, 5 December 2020 and 12 December 2020 through zoom meeting online. This activity was attended by 47 students of SD Negeri Gentan and was very well appreciated by the students and teachers. Students can listen well to 4 children's stories submitted by team members. They are able to answer well and retell the contents of the children's stories. The targets and outputs of this community service activity are scientific publication manuscripts published in journals, articles published in print media, activity videos, and IPR certificates. The output target that has been achieved is the production of children's story videos that have been uploaded on the YouTube channel of the Indonesian Literature Study Program, while other output targets such as publication texts and IPR certificates are in process. Abstract

Today, the development of Indonesian literature has undergone many changes, marked by the birth of female authors who present various ideas about the world of women. The world of women described by female authors does not only tell women in the domestic sphere of women but also women in the public sphere. One of them is Gitlicious in his work entitled My Lecturer My Husband. This study examines the actualization of women in the novel My Lecturer My Husband by Gitlicious by relying on the formulation proposed by Betty Friedan. This type of qualitative descriptive research uses documentation techniques and literature study as data collection methods. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used is the interactive data analysis technique, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The study's results prove that the actualization of women depicted in the novel My Lecturer My Husband shows the flexibility of women's roles in the public sphere. However, it does not exceed the position of men in terms of work and intelligence. Women are imaged as if they have succeeded in getting out of the domestic and public spheres so that women are aware of and reposition themselves into the domestic sphere.

Abstract

In literary studies, novels carry various ideological values, such as national ideology. Empirical evidence shows that national ideologies can influence and shape regimes nationally and internationally. One of the manifestations of national ideology can be actualized in literary works such as novels and short stories. This research aims to examine the value of nationality in the works of Leila S. Chudori by using the hermeneutic method formulated by Paul Ricoeur. This research is descriptive qualitative research, and the data used are Leila S. Chudori's works, namely 2 novels and 2 short story collections. Meanwhile, data analysis techniques are carried out in three basic stages of hermeneutics formulated by Ricoeur (1975): understanding, discussion, and interpretation. The results show that Leila S. Chudori's works have succeeded in entering the deepest aspects of national values, including psychological, sociological, and historical aspects. The narration in the plot, characters, and themes in Leila S. Chudori's works are able to articulate national values through the characters presented by the author. The narration is related to the memory of Indonesia, love for Indonesia, pride in Indonesia, and Indonesian identity.

Abstract

SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Bantul sebagai salah satu amal usaha persyarikatan Muhammadiyah telah memberikan pelayanan pendidikan berbasis technoenterpreneurship dan Pusat Layanan Unggulan atau Center Of Excellent (COE). SMK ini memiliki satu unit produksi jasa yang terdiri dari dua konsentrasi yaitu orotech musaba yang bergerak dalam bidang otomotif dan Musaba Las yang menawarkan jasa pengelasan. Permasalahan yang dihadapi saat ini adalah omzet yang dihasilkan dari unit produksi yang masih terbilang tidak sesuai dengan harapan. Hal ini disebabkan unit produksi kurang maksimal dalam melakukan promosi sehingga masyarakat sekitar belum banyak yang mengetahui tentang unit usaha tersebut. Tentu saja persoalan ini dapat diupayakan pemecahan masalahnya salah satunya dengan mengadakan pelatihan copywriting untuk memaksimalkan promosi unit produksi. Kegiatan pelatihan Copywriting ini akan diikuti siswa SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Bantul kelas X yang nantinya juga akan diberi tugas untuk mengelola unit produksi. Tahapan pelatihan meliputi: (1) Memberikan penjelasan dan pemahaman tentang konsep dan jenis-jenis copywriting; (2) Menjelaskan langkah-langkah membuat copywriting; (3) Mendampingi peserta dalam mempraktikan membuat copywriting salah satu hasil unit produksi; (4) Mendampingi peserta mengunggah rancangan copywriting. Dengan dilaksanakannya pelatihan ini siswa SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Bantul diharapkan dapat memaksimalkan promosi hasil unit produksinya dan menarik minat konsumen untuk membeli produk atau menggunakan jasa yang dipromosikan. Selain itu, pelatihan ini juga dapat menumbuhkan dan mengembangkan jiwa kewirausahaan siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the actualization of women in the novel My Lecturer My Husband by Gitlicious by relying on the formulation put forward by Betty Friedan. The depiction of the minimal role of women in literary production means that female characters in literary works are often portrayed as biased and one-sided. Therefore, it is essential to discuss women's experiences through women authors' works because they have direct experience in describing women's lives. This research is a type of qualitative descriptive research that uses documentation techniques and literature studies as a data collection method. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used was interactive, including data reduction techniques, presentation, and verification. This study shows that women experience an identity crisis because they often surrender to the situation. Circumstances that require Inggit's character to be at a certain point so that she feels have to return to their nature.

Abstract

Dalam artikel ini akan dibahas mengenai eksistensi perempuan Jawa yang lemah lembut. Hamka menggambarkan tokoh dalam novel sebagai eksistensi perempuan Jawa yang kalem, lemah lembut, dan penurut.Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan teori eksistensialisme Simone De Beavoir.Penelitian berupaya untuk mendeskripsikan keterlibatan tokoh perempuan Jawa dalam esistensinya sebagai perempuan Jawa pada umumnya.Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik simak dan catat.Sementara, teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan car menyeleksi, mengklarifikasi, menafsirkan, memaknai data, dan menarik kesimpulan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dalam novel “Merantau ke Deli” memberikan gambaran kondisi perempuan Jawa yang eksistensiny begitu kompleks sebagai seorang istri dan sebagai anggota masyarakat.

Abstract

Ahmad Tohari is a writer who created a novel based on the historical events of his people. One of Ahmad Tohari's novels which is the focus of this research study is the Kubah novel. The involvement of Karman in the communist party turned out to change his life. Referring to the formulation of Giorgio Agamben (1998) about modern biopolitics, the depiction of the life of the character Karman in the Kubah novel, is very much in accordance with the concept of Homo sacer and bare lofe proposed by Agamben. By using descriptive analysis methods, this study aims to analyze the concepts of bare life and homo sacers which are reflected in the Karman character in Ahmad Tohari's Kubah novel. Karman figure becomes a homo sacer who has an identity as a pegaten hamlet resident, but he feels he does not get his rights as a hamlet resident. The change in Karman's self as an innocent, religious and devout individual, until becoming an atheist, was a process of bare life.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of oral literature on the tradition of the tumpeng wasp siege that has not been documented in Mangunweni Village, Ayah District, Kebumen Regency. Oral literature has information that can be utilized by the public. Through documentation, this information can be opened and used so that the objectives of describing oral literature, deciphering the value of oral literature, and identifying the function of oral literature can be achieved. The theory used in this research is the theory of the function of folklore by William R. Bascom and the theory of folklore proposed by Ruth Finnegan that oral literature has value in the phenomenon of human culture. The formal object of this research is the form, function, and value of oral literature. The material object in this study is oral literature in the tradition of the tumpeng wasp siege of the people of Mangunweni Village, Ayah District, Kebumen Regency. The analysis technique used is qualitative data analysis conducted by induction. The results obtained from this study are: 1) the oral literature of the tumpeng tawonsiege tradition is a type of oral tradition in the form of myths and folk beliefs; 2) the values contained in the tumpeng wasp siege tradition consist of divine values, harmony between humans, equality between humans, diversity, sincerity, unyielding, usefulness to others, and concern in achieving goals; 3) the tumpeng wasp siege tradition has a function as a projection system, as a tool for ratifying cultural institutions and institutions, as an educational tool (pedagogical device), and as a coercive and supervisory tool so that community norms will always be obeyed by members.
