Abstract

This community service program aimed to train the creative thinking ability of students at Madrasah Aliyah Darunnajah Trenggalek while mapping their engagement in creative English language activities. The activity was conducted on 29 May 2026 through a creative thinking session and group case study discussion, involving 35 students of Grade X and XI. Data were collected through an online survey measuring ten indicators of creative thinking ability and twelve forms of creative English activities, analyzed descriptively. Results show that students' creative thinking ability is relatively strong, particularly in resilience (94.3%) and courage to try new learning methods (91.4%), with a weaker area in connecting religious and general subjects (74.3%). In contrast, engagement in creative English activities showed an uneven pattern, receptive activities such as watching English-language content were relatively active (51.4%), while productive and competitive activities such as joining English competitions were rarely performed (82.9% never). These findings indicate that students' creative capital has not been fully translated into productive English language practice, suggesting the need for follow-up programs that bridge creativity with English language confidence-building.
