Abstract

This research discusses the cardinal directions of Bugis houses and their implications for Falak Science in Talungeng Village, Barebbo Subdistrict, Bone Regency. This type of research is field research using qualitative methods. The data collection methods are observation, interview, and documentation. The result of this research is that the methodology of determining the cardinal directions in Bugis houses in Talungeng Village, Barebbo Subdistrict, Bone Regency is by looking at the position of the sun, by looking at the place where the sun sets or rises. The implications of the use of cardinal directions in Bugis houses on Falak Science in Talungeng Village, Barebbo Subdistrict, Bone Regency indirectly have similarities with Falak Science as a branch of science related to celestial objects in applying its knowledge, one of which is the use of the sun as a method used by the people of Talungeng Village in determining cardinal directions. The implication of this research that the methodology of determining the cardinal directions in Bugis houses using the position of sunrise and sunset as one of the methods in determining the location of the cardinal directions needs to be done more in-depth research related to the level of accuracy and also the author hopes that religious leaders or Falak Science students themselves can pay more attention and socialize related to the actual Qibla direction.

Abstract

The concept of learners in education is often understood normatively and psychologically, without placing it within a complete philosophical framework. In fact, educational philosophy plays an important role in defining the essence of learners, their relationship with educators, and their purpose in the education system. This study aims to examine two main issues: how the essence of learners is understood from the perspective of educational philosophy, and how this viewpoint impacts the relationship between learners and the educational process. The type of research in this article is qualitative research with an educational philosophy approach. Data sources are obtained from literature studies on the works of classical to contemporary educational philosophy figures. Data collection techniques use documentation, while analysis is conducted through content analysis and philosophical interpretation. The results of the study indicate that learners in educational philosophy are viewed not merely as objects of learning, but rather as active, autonomous subjects who develop through interaction with values and life experiences. In addition, the philosophical perspective encourages the need to transform the relationship between educators and learners from an instructional relationship to a dialogical and humanistic one. The implications of these findings emphasize the need for a reorientation of the curriculum and educational approaches that are more student-centered as thinking and meaningful beings.

Abstract

Abstract “This article discusses Manshur al Batawi's analysis of Hisab Rukyat in the Book of Sullam Nayyirain. Research on hisab rukyat the author refers to the thought of hisab rukyat Muhammad Manshur al-Batawi in the Sullamun Nayyirain Book, with the research approach used being the astronomical, syar'i approach, and the character approach in this case, Muhammad Manshur al-Batawi from the results of this research found that Muhammad Masnhur al-Batawi's reckoning thoughts are basically the thoughts of a network of scholars with Arab scholars including Syek Abdurrahman al-Misri, Mansur's teacher who received his first education directly from his parents who were scholars. Mas Manshur al-Batawi's ruyat reckoning thought uses Ptolemy's theory which has a geocentric principle, which according to scientific history has been superimposed by the heliocentric principle. So it is natural that the calculation results include the true reckoning of taqribi, to calculate the time of ijtima', solar eclipse and lunar eclipse. To calculate the beginning of the month of Kamariyah according to this book, start by calculating when ijtima' occurs. The technique for calculating the height of the new moon at sunset is by finding the difference between the sunset time and the ijtima' time that occurs before Ghurub, so that night the new moon has entered. The implication of this research is that every student of science should seek as much knowledge as possible, as was done by Muhammad Manshur al-Batawi who did not look at age in seeking knowledge, especially for those interested in astronomy, so that the knowledge gained can be a source of knowledge for us and those who are also interested in learning. learn from us. Like now, the work of Muhammad Manshur al-Batawi is a charity for him because many of his works are used as writing references.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examines how traditional astronomical knowledge is utilized by local communities through the observation of stars and celestial phenomena to determine the appropriate timing for agricultural activities, particularly planting and harvesting seasons. From the perspective of Islamic astronomy (Ilmu Falak), the research focuses on identifying the roles of specific stars and analyzing the contributions of traditional astronomical practices in the Luwu region. This research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach and analyzes data using interdisciplinary, historical, and comparative methods. The findings reveal that traditional astronomy and the role of certain stars play a significant role in determining planting and harvesting seasons. The people of Luwu have, for generations, relied on the positions of specific stars such as Orion, Sirius, the Pleiades, and Crux as indicators of seasonal changes. This research can be implemented in various fields, particularly in agriculture, education, and cultural preservation in Luwu. In agriculture, traditional astronomical knowledge can be integrated with modern weather technology to determine optimal planting and harvesting times. The Ilmu Falak approach enriches the interpretation of related verses through the analysis of celestial bodies’ orbits and the position of the universe, demonstrating harmony between religious and scientific perspectives.
