Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of work discipline and workload on employee performance at the Samarinda City DPRD Secretariat. The background of this research is based on the importance of employee performance in supporting the smooth running of legislative tasks, and the assumption that discipline and workload are internal organizational factors that play a role in achieving this performance. The method used is quantitative with an associative approach, using multiple linear regression analysis techniques. Data were collected through distributing questionnaires to 76 respondents who are employees of the DPRD Secretariat, with saturated sampling techniques. The results showed that partially, work discipline (X1) had no significant effect on employee performance (Y), while workload (X2) had a significant effect. Simultaneously, both variables have a significant effect on performance, although the contribution of the effect is relatively low. This finding indicates that workload is a more dominant factor in influencing employee performance than work discipline. This study provides theoretical and practical implications, and recommends the need for work system evaluation and the development of more comprehensive managerial policies.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of compensation and work-life balance on teacher loyalty at public elementary schools in Samarinda Kota District. This research employed a quantitative approach with a sample of 93 respondents consisting of ASN (civil servant) and non-ASN teachers from SDN 005, SDN 006, SDN 007, and SDN 011 in Samarinda Kota District. Data collection was conducted through the distribution of questionnaires. The independent variables in this study were compensation (X1) and work-life balance (X2), while the dependent variable was teacher loyalty (Y). Data analysis involved validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, t-tests, F-tests for model feasibility (Goodness of Fit), and the coefficient of determination test (R²). The results showed that both compensation and work-life balance have a positive influence on teacher loyalty. Improvements in fair compensation and the creation of a balance between work and personal life can enhance teachers' loyalty to their respective schools. The Goodness of Fit test indicated that the regression model used in this study met the feasibility criteria and was significant, making it appropriate for predicting teacher loyalty in public elementary schools in Samarinda Kota District.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of organizational culture and work environment on employee work motivation at the Regional Research and Development Agency (Balitbangda) of East Kalimantan Province. Work motivation is an essential factor that drives individuals to perform their tasks optimally. A decline in motivation within Balitbangda is indicated by low employee initiative and tardiness, which are suspected to be influenced by a weak organizational culture and an unsupportive work environment. This research uses a quantitative approach with a population of 67 employees and a saturated sample of 60 respondents. Data collection techniques include questionnaires and interviews, and the data are analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that organizational culture and work environment, both partially and simultaneously, have a significant effect on work motivation. An adaptive and participative organizational culture, as well as a comfortable, safe, and conducive work environment, can enhance employees’ enthusiasm and engagement in carrying out their duties. The coefficient of determination of 53.8% indicates that more than half of the variation in work motivation is explained by these two variables. The practical implication of this study is the importance of leadership attention to strengthening work culture values and improving workplace facilities and comfort to support employee productivity and well-being. These findings provide theoretical contributions to the field of human resource management and can serve as a policy reference for improving the performance of government agencies.

Abstract

Stock price volatility in the property and real estate sector reflects the industry's sensitivity to macroeconomic dynamics and policy shifts, making it a crucial concern for investors and corporate managers. This study aims to examine the effect of leverage and dividend policy on stock price volatility among property and real estate companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2023–2024 period. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing secondary data obtained from annual financial reports of 77 purposively selected companies. The dependent variable stock price volatility was measured using the range between the highest and lowest stock prices. Leverage was measured by the Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), and dividend policy was represented by the Dividend Payout Ratio (DPR). Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression after passing classical assumption tests, including normality, multicollinearity, heteroskedasticity, and autocorrelation. The results show that neither leverage nor dividend policy has a significant effect on stock price volatility. These findings suggest that investors in this sector may prioritize external factors such as economic growth, interest rate fluctuations, and fiscal incentives over internal financial indicators when making investment decisions. The study implies that firms and policymakers should focus on strengthening macroeconomic fundamentals and sectoral stability to minimize market uncertainty and promote long-term investment confidence.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work environment and compensation on employee work motivation at the Regional Research and Development Agency of East Kalimantan Province. The background of the research is based on the conditions of the work environment that are not yet conducive and compensation that is considered uneven, which has the potential to reduce employee work motivation. The research method used was quantitative with an associative descriptive approach, involving the entire employee population as a sample of 67 people through saturated sampling techniques. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed by multiple linear regression. The results of the study show that both the work environment and compensation have a positive and significant effect partially or simultaneously on employee work motivation. The value of the determination coefficient showed that 49.4% of the variation in work motivation could be explained by the variables of work environment and compensation. The conclusion of this study is that improving the quality of the work environment and providing fair and transparent compensation play a role in shaping employee work motivation. Therefore, it is recommended that agencies strengthen internal policies that are oriented towards improving work comfort and an objective reward system to support optimal employee performance.
