Abstract

Teori filsafat pendidikan berfungsi sebagai kerangka dasar untuk memahami tujuan, proses, dan arah pengembangan pendidikan. Filsafat pendidikan tidak hanya membahas apa yang harus diajarkan, tetapi juga mengapa dan bagaimana proses pendidikan harus berlangsung demi membentuk manusia ideal sesuai pandangan hidup tertentu. Dalam konteks ini, artikel ini membahas tiga aliran besar dalam filsafat moderneksistensialisme, humanisme, dan filsafat kontemporer beserta implikasinya terhadap pendidikan Islam. Eksistensialisme menekankan kebebasan individu, tanggung jawab moral, dan pencarian makna hidup. Humanisme menegaskan martabat manusia serta dorongan alami menuju pertumbuhan dan aktualisasi diri. Sementara itu, filsafat kontemporer menghadirkan perangkat kritik terhadap struktur pengetahuan dan otoritas, serta membuka ruang bagi interpretasi yang lebih fleksibel terhadap realitas sosial. Dengan mengkaji ketiga aliran ini, artikel ini menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan Islam dapat memperkaya pendekatan pedagogisnya melalui integrasi konsep kebebasan, penghargaan terhadap potensi manusia, dan pembaruan metodologis, tanpa melepaskan fondasi tauhid sebagai pusat orientasi pendidikan.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the essence and role of the Islamic educational environment according to Hasan Langgulung, and examine its relationship with social media as part of the educational environment in the digital age. This study applies a qualitative approach with a literature study type, sourced from books and scientific articles related to Hasan Langgulung's thoughts, the educational environment, and social media. Data collection was conducted through documentation studies, and data analysis used content analysis methods. The research findings indicate that the environment plays an important role in internalizing Islamic values ​​and shaping students' character, while social media has the potential to function as a non-formal educational environment that supports the learning process, the dissemination of Islamic values, and the strengthening of Muslim identity in the digital world. However, social media also presents challenges in the form of the dissemination of inaccurate religious information and the potential for moral degradation. Therefore, the integration of the concept of the Islamic educational environment with social media requires targeted management and the active role of educators and families so that social media remains within the corridor of Islamic educational values ​​and supports the achievement of Islamic educational goals.

Abstract

Optimising the culture of salaf Islamic boarding schools in shaping the character of students according to the thinking of KH. Hasyim Asy'ari. Islamic boarding schools, as traditional Islamic educational institutions, have a unique culture that plays an important role in internalising moral, spiritual and social values in students. The culture of Salafi Islamic boarding schools not only functions as an institutional tradition, but also serves as an effective medium for character education through the instilling of values, the exemplary behaviour of the kyai, and the communal life of the santri. This study aims to analyse the concept of Salafi pesantren culture, its optimalisation in shaping the character of santri, and its relevance to the educational thought of KH. Hasyim Asy'ari. The research method used is qualitative research with a library research approach. The primary data sources are from the works and thoughts of KH. Hasyim Asy'ari, particularly those related to manners and character education, while the secondary data sources are obtained from books, journal articles, and relevant research from the last five years. The data collection technique was carried out through data analysis using descriptive-analytical content analysis. The results of the study indicate that the optimisation of the Salafi pesantren culture is carried out through the strengthening of manners, the exemplary behaviour of the kyai (uswah hasanah), the instilling of religious and social values, and the application of the hidden curriculum in pesantren life. The character values that are formed include religiosity, discipline, responsibility, simplicity, tolerance. Abstrak Optimalisasi budaya pesantren salaf dalam pembentukan karakter santri menurut pemikiran KH. Hasyim Asy’ari. Pesantren sebagai lembaga pendidikan Islam tradisional memiliki kekhasan budaya yang berperan penting dalam internalisasi nilai moral, spiritual, dan sosial santri. Budaya pesantren salaf tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai tradisi kelembagaan, tetapi juga menjadi media pendidikan karakter yang efektif melalui pembiasaan nilai, keteladanan kyai, dan kehidupan komunal santri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konsep budaya pesantren salaf, bentuk optimalisasinya dalam pembentukan karakter santri, serta relevansinya dengan pemikiran pendidikan KH. Hasyim Asy’ari. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kepustakaan (library research). Sumber data primer berasal dari karya dan pemikiran KH. Hasyim Asy’ari, khususnya terkait adab dan pendidikan karakter, sedangkan sumber data sekunder diperoleh dari buku, artikel jurnal, dan penelitian relevan lima tahun terakhir. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui analisis data menggunakan analisis isi (content analysis) secara deskriptif-analitis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa optimalisasi budaya pesantren salaf dilakukan melalui penguatan adab, keteladanan kyai (uswah hasanah), pembiasaan nilai religius dan sosial, serta penerapan hidden curriculum dalam kehidupan pesantren. Nilai karakter yang terbentuk meliputi religiusitas, disiplin, tanggung jawab, kesederhanaan, toleransi, dan sikap moderat. Pemikiran KH. Hasyim Asy’ari menegaskan bahwa pendidikan karakter tidak cukup melalui transfer ilmu, tetapi harus diwujudkan dalam pembiasaan nilai dan praktik kehidupan sehari-hari di pesantren. Dengan demikian, budaya pesantren salaf memiliki peran strategis dalam membentuk karakter santri yang berakhlak mulia dan moderat di tengah tantangan modernisasi.

Abstract

This studyaims to analyze the strategies and implementation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) based on Islamic boarding schools in developing the spiritual intelligence of students at Wahid Hasyim Junior High School. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study type to gain an in-depth understanding of the process, strategies, and practices of PAI learning in the context of school life. Data collection techniques were conducted through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study showed that the development of students' spiritual intelligence was carried out through four main strategies, namely the habit of worship (dhuha prayer, congregational prayer,memorization of Juz 30, and worship practices), integration of spiritual values in each PAI subject (fiqh, aqidah akhlak, and the Qur'an), the application of contextual learning, and the strengthening of the school's religious culture, such as pilgrimage activities to the tomb of KH. Wahid Hasyim in Jombang. This implementation not only improves students' cognitive understanding of Islamic teachings, but also encourages the internalization of spiritual values in daily life such as discipline, responsibility, empathy, and noble character. Thus, this pesantren-based PAI model has proven effective in forming a balance between students' intellectual and spiritual aspects and can be a strategic alternative in strengthening character education in formal educational institutions.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the potential for social segregation due to differences in Islamic mass organization (Ormas) affiliations in Indonesia, which often trigger differences in religious practices. In Masohi City, this phenomenon is bridged through the "Baca Doa" tradition, a practice of Living Qur’an that unites various Islamic organizations (NU, Muhammadiyah, LDII, and Jamaah Tabligh) in one gathering. The main problem in this study is how the process of informal Islamic education and the internalization of moderation values take place amidst the diversity of these organizations through the mediation of local customs. The purpose of this study is to analyze the process of Islamic education within the "Baca Doa" tradition, identify the values of moderation (wasathiyyah) being instilled, and map the supporting and inhibiting factors in the context of the indigenous community of Masohi City. The methodology used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive ethnographic type. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with customary and religious leaders, and documentation studies, which were then analyzed using James Spradley's Developmental Research Sequence (DRS) model. The results show that the "Baca Doa" tradition functions as an effective medium for informal Islamic education through the processes of Tarbiyah and Ta’dib. Moderation values such as Tasamuh (tolerance), Ukhuwah (brotherhood), and egalitarianism (through the Tamelang tradition) are strongly internalized. This study concludes that the integration between the theological values of the Qur'an and the local wisdom of Masohi Custom has successfully created social cohesion and serves as an adaptive model of religious moderation in a multicultural region.

Abstract

Progressivism and reconstructionism are two modern schools of educational philosophy that developed in response to social change and dynamic educational needs. Progressivism emphasizes education as a process oriented toward learning experiences and the active development of student potential, while reconstructionism views education as a strategic means for social change and reconstruction. This study aims to analyze the nature and principles of progressivism and reconstructionism, and to examine their relevance and position within the perspective of Islamic education. This study employed a qualitative approach with library research, with data sources consisting of modern educational philosophy literature and classical Islamic education texts. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and analytically with a comparative approach. The results indicate that both schools of thought have common ground with Islamic education, particularly in the development of students' intellectual potential, personality formation, and social responsibility. However, Islamic education has a normative foundation derived from the Qur'an and Sunnah, so acceptance of progressivism and reconstructionism is selective and critical. Therefore, both schools of thought can serve as material for dialogue and enrichment of thought in the development of Islamic education as long as they remain within the framework of Islamic values.
