Abstract

Pastoral care is an important aspect of church life to accompany people on their journey of faith and daily life. In Region V of the Santa Familia Sikumana Parish, the performance of the Head of the Base Community Community (KUB) really determines the quality of pastoral care. This research aims to analyze the relationship between the performance of the KUB Chair and the quality of pastoral care in the region. The method used is quantitative with a correlational design to identify relationships between variables. Data collection was carried out through a survey of 106 heads of families who represented the research population. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques such as Pearson correlation tests, linear regression analysis, and validity and reliability tests. The research results show that there is a positive and significant relationship between the performance of the KUB Chair and the quality of pastoral care. The coefficient of determination of 56.6% shows that the performance of the KUB Chair contributes significantly to the quality of pastoral care, while 43.4% is influenced by other factors. Research also finds that indicators such as goals, standards, and feedback have a strong influence on the quality of pastoral care. In conclusion, the performance of the KUB Chair plays an important role in improving the quality of pastoral care. Increasing communication, motivation and understanding of the responsibilities of the KUB Chair are very necessary to optimize services to the people. This research recommends strengthening the capacity of the KUB Chair and the active participation of the congregation to support the success of pastoral services.

Abstract

The Catholic Church teaches that all Christian believers who have received the sacrament of baptism are called to carry out their responsibilities to be priests, prophets and kings. Lay people who are given a special task by the Church in the field of preaching the faith are called Catechists. Catechists should have a certain spirituality or enthusiasm for life to support their existence and ministry duties, especially in carrying out the five tasks of the Church. The aim of this research is to determine the role of catechists in church life, especially in the field of preaching. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The results of the research show that some catechists in the Santa Maria Assumpta Parish, Kupang Archdiocese have not taken an active part in carrying out their roles. Therefore, several activities are needed that can raise awareness within themselves so that catechists can involve themselves fully and actively in every ecclesiastical activity, especially assisting categorical groups in the Parish area in the field of preaching or catechesis.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of using interactive instructional videos on students’ learning outcomes in Catholic Religious Education at the junior secondary school level. The research employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory design and involved 88 seventh-grade students at SMPK St. Yoseph Freinademetz Kapan, East Nusa Tenggara, selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through a learning outcomes test and a questionnaire on the use of interactive instructional videos, and were analyzed using simple linear regression. The results indicate that the use of interactive instructional videos has a positive and significant effect on students’ learning outcomes (t = 35.319; p < 0.05). These findings suggest that the integration of interactive video media contributes to increased student engagement and improved understanding of Catholic Religious Education content. This study underscores the importance of utilizing digital media in religious education as a contextual and meaningful pedagogical strategy and provides practical implications for teachers in developing technology-based learning.
