Abstract

Abstract

Abstract The Revised Bloom's Taxonomy provides a framework for evaluating cognitive levels in learning materials, and achieving a balanced distribution of lower- and higher-order thinking skills in textbooks is essential to fulfilling the objectives of the Merdeka Curriculum. This study aims to analyze the cognitive levels of reading comprehension questions in Interactive English 2 for Junior High School, Merdeka Curriculum edition, based on the Revised Bloom's Taxonomy. Using a qualitative descriptive design with document analysis, 114 reading comprehension questions across 10 chapters were examined and classified into six cognitive domains: Remembering (CI), Understanding (C2), Applying (C3), Analyzing (C4), Evaluating (C5), and Creating (C6). The analysis revealed that lower-order thinking skills dominated, with Remembering (62.28%) and Understanding (18.42%) comprising the majority, while higher-order thinking skills such as Analyzing (7.02%), Evaluating (6.14%), and Creating (3.51%) were underrepresented. These findings indicate that the textbook emphasizes factual recall and basic comprehension over critical, analytical, and creative thinking. which is inconsistent with the goals of the Merdeka Curriculum. Therefore, it is recommended that future textbook development ensure a more balanced distribution of cognitive levels to better support students' higher-order thinking skills. Abstract

This study investigates the patterns and functions of code-switching (CS) employed by English teachers in an Indonesian preschool setting. In the complex linguistic landscape of Bengkulu, where students navigate multiple local dialects alongside the national language, code-switching serves as a vital pedagogical bridge. The present study is a qualitative case study conducted at TK Essential Education Bengkulu during the 2025/2026 academic year. It was designed to explore how teachers utilize tag-switching, inter-sentential, and intra-sentential switching to maximize a restricted 30-minute instructional window for students with zero prior English exposure. The results revealed that: (1) code-switching is a deliberate scaffolding tool that ensures comprehension and maintains emotional security; (2) inter-sentential switching dominates classroom management, while intra-sentential switching is primarily used for vocabulary building; and (3) the integration of local codes (Melayu Bengkulu, Serawai, Rejang) prevents "subtractive multilingualism" and fosters a culturally responsive learning environment. Furthermore, the findings suggest that the strategic use of L1 (First Language) and regional codes accelerates the transition from receptive to productive language skills in early childhood education.

Abstract

Wondr by BNI is a mobile banking application in Indonesia designed to support systematic financial management through three main concepts: Insight, Transaction, and Growth. Despite offering advanced features, many users complain about issues such as failed transactions, login difficulties, and slow application response times. This study evaluates the user experience of the Wondr app by combining the UEQ and SUS methods. The UEQ evaluation results show an average score of: attractiveness 1.12; clarity 1.06; efficiency 1.05; accuracy 1.07; stimulation 0.71; and novelty 0.77. Meanwhile, the SUS score of 64.6 falls into category D, “OK” on the adjective scale, and “Marginally Acceptable” on the usability scale—indicating that the app's usability is slightly below the average standard. Overall, users gave positive ratings for clarity, efficiency, accuracy, and stimulation, but attractiveness and novelty still need improvement. To date, no studies have specifically evaluated the UX of the Wondr app by combining the UEQ and SUS methods. This research contributes new scientific insights by demonstrating the app's UX performance and areas requiring improvement.
