Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of education, teamwork, and communication on the performance of employees at the Department of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection of Riau Islands Province, with organizational commitment as an intervening variable. The high number of cases of violence against women and children from 2020 to 2024 presents a serious challenge for government institutions in effectively carrying out their main duties and functions. This research employs a quantitative approach, using survey methods for data collection. Questionnaires were distributed to 105 employees of the Department of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection of Riau Islands Province. The results indicate that improving education and strengthening teamwork have a significant direct effect on employee performance and organizational commitment. In contrast, communication does not significantly influence performance or organizational commitment. Moreover, the indirect effect of communication on performance through organizational commitment was also found to be insignificant. Based on these findings, it is recommended that efforts be focused on improving digital communication skills among employees, as well as other factors that have a stronger direct impact on enhancing employee performance at the Department of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection, Population Control, and Family Planning of the Riau Islands Province.

Abstract

This research was a quantitative associative causal study aimed at analyzing the relationship pattern between variables and determining the effect of Performance Allowance on Employee Performance. The study was conducted at the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office of Asahan Regency, with a population of 120 employees. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. The data was obtained from questionnaires distributed to respondents consisting of employees from various divisions. The results showed that Performance Allowance had a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance. This was evidenced by the t-value of 11.457, which was greater than the t-table value of 1.65543, and the significance value of 0.000, which was less than 0.05. The regression coefficient of 1.619 indicated that every 1-point increase in Performance Allowance would cause a 1.619-point increase in Employee Performance, assuming other variables remained constant. In addition, the coefficient of determination test showed an Adjusted R Square value of 0.477 or 47.70%, indicating that Performance Allowance had a relatively high effect on Employee Performance, with the remaining 52.30% influenced by other factors not examined in this study. Overall, the results of this study identified that increasing Performance Allowance could contribute to improving Employee Performance at the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office of Asahan Regency

Abstract

Appropriate performance allowances and optimal work motivation are important factors in improving employee performance in government organizations. This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of performance allowances on employee performance mediated by work motivation at the Office of Public Works and Spatial Planning of Asahan Regency. This study uses a causal associative quantitative approach. The sample used was the entire population of employees totaling 145 people with a saturated sampling technique. Data analysis was carried out using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Square (PLS). The results showed that performance allowances did not have a significant direct effect on employee performance, with a T-statistic value of 0.900 <1.96 and a P-value of 0.370> 0.05. However, performance allowances had a positive and significant effect on work motivation, with a T-statistic value of 104.907> 1.96 and a P-value of 0.000 <0.05, indicating that performance allowances can improve employee motivation. Furthermore, work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a T-statistic value of 6.955 > 1.96 and a P-value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that increasing work motivation can improve employee performance. Work motivation also mediates the effect of performance allowances on employee performance, with a T-statistic value of 6.949 > 1.96 and a P-value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that performance allowances are more effective in improving performance when accompanied by high work motivation. These results provide insight that the combination of performance allowances and work motivation is an effective strategy in improving employee performance at the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency of Asahan Regency. Employee performance at the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency of Asahan Regency.

Abstract

Kombucha tea is a fermented tea leaf drink with added sugar and Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast (SCOBY). Vanilla leaves (Vanilla planifolia) have the potential to be the basic ingredient for making kombucha tea. Variations in fermentation time in tea making can affect the content of active compounds. The purpose of this study was to determine the levels of phenolic compounds and antioxidant activity of kombucha tea with variations in fermentation time. The fermentation time for making vanilla leaf kombucha tea is 0, 4, 8, and 12 days. The phenolic compounds were known by the Folin–Ciocalteu method using the gallic acid standard, while the antioxidant activity was known by the free radical inhibition method 2,2-diphenyl-1-pycrylhydrazyl (DPPH). The results showed that the levels of phenolic compounds at fermentation times of 0, 4, 8, and 12 days were 37.99, 42.188, 57.58, respectively, and 50.53 mg/L GAE. The highest phenolic levels are found at the 8th day of fermentation. The IC50 values for fermentation times of 0, 4, 8, and 12 consecutive days were 18%, 7.9%, 4%, and 7.7% v/v. An IC50 value < 50 indicates strong antioxidant activity. Vanilla leaf kombucha tea has the potential to be a beverage product that is beneficial for health due to its content of phenolic compounds and antioxidant activity.

Abstract

This study focuses on the elements of gharar (uncertainty), tadlis (fraud), and breach of contract in examining multiple transactions of a single land object from the standpoint of Islamic economic law. The rising frequency of disagreements over land purchases and sales brought on by the same seller engaging in overlapping transactions, unclear ownership status, and a lack of transparency has prompted this research. This study aims to investigate the effects of these activities on Indonesian positive law and Islamic economic law. This case study employed an empirical legal approach and was carried out in Grogol Village, Tulangan District, Sidoarjo Regency. Data was gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation by the buyer, seller, and local authorities. The findings indicate that due to unclear land boundaries and ownership status, the transaction contained significant elements of gharar and tadlis because the seller concealed important information about the previous transaction. Furthermore, the seller's failure to fulfill obligations stipulated in the contract constitutes a breach of contract under positive law. This study demonstrates that these practices not only violate legal regulations but also contradict the principles of Islamic economic law such as justice, transparency, and good faith. According to this study, legal awareness, administrative accuracy, and institutional oversight are vital to prevent such issues in the future.
