Abstract

The goal of this study is to see how problem-solving learning paradigms affect students' grasp of physics ideas. This study is a quasi-experimental study. The sample was chosen using the cluster random class methodology, which consisted of two classes, the first of which was taught using a problem-solving learning model and the second of which was taught using traditional methods. Experiment classes provide problem-solving opportunities to help students better understand physics ideas, while control classes are taught in a traditional manner. Pre- and post-test results from students in both classes were used to collect data. The two-way Anava-test was applied, and the level of significance was found to be 0.000 (sig. 0.05), indicating that problem solving learning is beneficial in improving students’ understanding of physics concepts.

Abstract

Basic physics experiment textbooks are widely used by lecturers and students in physics courses at universities, but relevant and easy-to-use basic physics experiment textbooks are not yet available. Most of the available books are practical books. The purpose of this study was to determine the stages of developing a basic physics experimental textbook based on pictorial riddles. This type of research is research and development (R&D) research. The research uses the Plomp Model with three stages, namely preliminary research, prototype or development, and assessment. The subjects of this study were students of the Physics Education study program at the University of HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar. Data analysis used descriptive quantitative. The results showed that the development value of pictorial riddle-based textbooks had a high level of attractiveness based on the assessment of material/content experts reaching 93.75%. The development value based on pictorial riddle has a high level of attractiveness based on field test assessments reaching 91%. This shows that the development of pictorial riddle-based basic physics experimental textbooks has good quality and is suitable for use to improve student learning outcomes in basic physics experimental subjects.

Abstract

Masyarakat simalungun belum memiliki pengetahuan tentang dampak bakteri coliform fecal bagi lingkungan perairan terkhusus bagi biota air karena kualitas air di simalungun terus menerus menurun sehingga pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan penyuluhan tentang dampak bakteri coliform fecal bagi biota air. Pengabdian ini telah dilakukan pada bulan September-Oktober 2022 di simalungun dengan metode penyuluhan dan angket yang diikuti oleh peserta sebanyak 20 orang. Hasil penyuluhan menunjukan bahwa masyarakat paham 100%  tentang dampak bakteri coliform fecal yang dapat membunuh biota air yang lain karena terjadi kompetisi memperebutkan oksigen dan jika terus menerus terjadi maka akan merusak lingkungan dan ekosistem perairan. Dari penyuluhan ini terlihat animo masyarakat sangat tinggi, dan mereka menjadi lebih paham tentang upaya memperbaiki kualitas air dengan mengurangi pembuangan limbah organik ke perairan di simalungun.Simalungun people have yet to learn the impact of faecal coliform bacteria on the aquatic environment, especially for water biota because the water quality in Simalungun continues to decline, so this service aims to provide education about the impact of faecal coliform bacteria on water. This service was carried out in September-October 2022 in Simalungun with the counselling and questionnaire methods that 20 participants attended. The counselling results show that the community understands 100% about the impact of faecal coliform bacteria, which can kill other aquatic biota due to competition for oxygen. If this continues, it will damage the environment and aquatic ecosystems. From this counselling, the community's enthusiasm is very high. They have become more aware of efforts to improve water quality by reducing the discharge of organic waste into waters in Simalungun.

Abstract

Avertebrata air merupakan hewan yang tidak memiliki tulang belakang yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai kerajinan tangan dan makanan, agar tidak menjadi limbah. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi kepada guru di SMP Negeri 1 Dolok Pardamean Kabupaten Simalungun Provinsi Sumatera Utara tentang pemanfaatan hewan avertebrata air dari buku ajar. Pengabdian ini telah dilakukan di Dolok Pardamean, Kabupaten Simalungun dengan metode sosialisasi dan angket. Hasil pengabdian menunjukan bahwa banyak guru yang masih belum paham tentang pemanfaatan hewan avertebrata air. Dari pengabdian ini terlihat animo guru sangat tinggi, dan menjadi paham 100% dari hasil angket tentang pemanfaatan hewan avertebrata air setelah dilakukan sosialisasi. Kata kunci: pemanfaatan, hewan, buku, ajar ABSTRACT Aquatic invertebrates are animals that do not have a backbone that can be used as handicrafts and food, so as not to become waste. This service aims to provide information to teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Dolok Pardamean, Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra Province about the use of aquatic invertebrates from textbooks. This service has been carried out in Dolok Pardamean, Simalungun Regency with the method of socialization and questionnaires. The results of the service show that many teachers still do not understand the use of aquatic invertebrates. From this service, it can be seen that the teacher's interest is very high, and they understand 100% of the results of the questionnaire on the use of aquatic invertebrates after socialization. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui tahapan pengembangan buku ajar teori bilangan berbasis kooperatif jigsaw dan respon mahasiswa terhadap buku ajar . Metode penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tiga tahap: Preliminary research,prototyping or development, dan assessment. Populasi penelitian mahasiswa Pendidikan Matematika Universitas HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar dengan jumlah 35 Orang. Data penelitian berupa kuesioner, angket validasi, kepraktisan, dan efektivitas. Analisis data menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif. Validasi buku ajar dilakukan oleh tiga validator dengan nilai 96,67%dikategorikan sangat baik.Respon mahasiswa sangat membantu dengan adanya buku ajar nilai 87,4% dan praktis digunakan dalam pembelajaran

Metode penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tiga tahap: Preliminary research, prototyping or development, dan assessment. Data penelitian berupa kuesioner, angket validasi, kepraktisan, dan efektivitas. Analisis data menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil uji coba I adalah sebesar 71,88%, ujicoba II adalah sebesar 87,50%. Respon peserta didik sangat setuju pengembangan model pembelajaran Mind Mapping berbasis Power Point. Model pembelajaran Mind Mapping berbasis Power Point yang dirancang dosen memperoleh validasi ahli dengan kategori sangat baik dan layak diterapkan dalam belajar bilangan

Abstract

River order research in Tukad Balian Watershed, Bali Province uses ArcGIS Pro to process ASTER GDEM and National DEM data. The analysis is based on: the area and Perimeter of the Watershed, Watershed Length and Width, Land Slope, Average Height, Order and Level of River Branching. The results obtained for the Watershed show that the morphometric value is an area of 15485,20 hectares, a length of 23,08 km, a land slope of 0,40%, and 5 orders of branching rivers with a total of 665 river sections. The shape of Watershed Tukad Balian roundness index value is 7,2. GIS is an effective system for reducing Watershed morphometric information. The research method used is to directly calculate the morphometric parameters of the Tukad Balian Watershed, Bali Province, namely: Area and Perimeter of the Watershed; Watershed Length and weight; River slop or gradient; Average Height; Order and Level of River Branching; Flow Density; and Watershed Form. The conclusion obtained is: The Tukad Balian watershed is a standard-sized watershed with an area of 15.485,20 Ha an average height of 200 meters above sea level and the main river channel is 10,71 Km long. There a plot sections with a total length of 23,08 Km; The elongated shape of the Tukad Balian watershed is in the medium category, where the Tukad Balian Watershed will not experience major flooding.

Abstract

Abstract The issue of environmental degradation has become a global concern, affecting various regions worldwide, including the Batak Toba community. Numerous efforts have been made to mitigate the worsening damage. This paper aims to explore moral values through Batak Toba local wisdom as a solution to environmental destruction. One approach is by instilling respect for trees. In Batak Toba mythology, Hariara Sundung di Langit is known as a sacred tree with profound symbolic meaning. The values embodied in this tree can be utilized to address environmental damage. This study employs a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach to explore the social ideas behind the meaning of Hariara Sundung di Langit, which is protected and nurtured by the Batak Toba community. The protection and preservation of Hariara Sundung di Langit can be applied as a step toward sustainable environmental conservation. This gives rise to the concept of Na Ture, an invitation to preserve a good and harmonious environment based on the Batak Toba worldview.
