Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the skills of Youth Red Cross (PMR) members in measuring blood pressure and hemoglobin levels through the peer group method. The program was conducted in October 2024, involving 23 PMR members. The implementation of this community service followed several stages: socialization, training, technology application, mentoring and evaluation, and program sustainability. The application of technology in this program utilized the peer group method. Following the training activities, results showed that 100% of participants were able to measure blood pressure, and 91.3% were able to measure hemoglobin levels. This community service program successfully improved the competency of PMR members in conducting screening or early detection among peers. The implications for preventing hypertension and anemia include reducing the risk of stunting in future generations and motivating participants to become healthy and responsible leaders. Based on these findings, it is recommended to continue implementing health screening activities using the peer group approach. Achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) This community service program focuses on preventing stunting in the future through screening and early detection among adolescents by involving PMR youth groups in peer group activities. This article contributes to SDG Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. The targeted indicator is Target 3.4, which aims to reduce premature mortality from non-communicable diseases by one-third by 2030 through prevention, treatment, and the promotion of mental health and well-being.

Abstract

Introduction and Methods The door-to-door COVID-19 vaccination strategy requires adequate distribution facilities, such as vehicles and specialized storage to ensure vaccine quality. Additionally, vaccination officers play a crucial role in distributing vaccines to the community. Yakkum Emergency Unit (YEU) has consistently carried out vaccination efforts targeting high-risk groups in several regions using the door-to-door system to accelerate the process and reach more individuals in need. This method allows vaccinations to be administered directly at participants' homes. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing COVID-19 vaccination officers in distributing vaccines to the community through the door-to-door method. It is a cross-sectional study with a retrospective approach, collecting data online from vaccination officers. A total of 28 vaccinators were involved as research samples, selected using a total sampling technique. Results The study identified four factors examined in the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines using the door-to-door method. Three factors significantly influenced the vaccination activity: knowledge, willingness, and preparation. However, one factor, vaccine quality, showed no significant influence. Conclusion and Recommendations The study concludes that the willingness of healthcare workers is crucial for the success of COVID-19 vaccination efforts. Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) This study aims to identify the factors influencing vaccination officers in the distribution of vaccines using the mobile vaccination (jemput bola) method. This article contributes to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Ensuring Healthy Lives and Promoting Well-being for All at All Ages. Specifically, it aligns with Target 3.b, which focuses on supporting research and development of vaccines and medicines for both communicable and non-communicable diseases, particularly those affecting developing countries, and ensuring affordable access to essential medicines and vaccines.

Abstract

The importance of sociocultural support from both family and health workers is very much needed by pregnant women until the postpartum period. Utilization of recording facilities using MCH books is not yet optimal in Eastern Indonesia, this is due to the lack of knowledge of midwives, compliance of health workers in filling out MCH books, absence of husbands or family members in caring for pregnant women, taking mothers for pregnancy checks, accompanying them in the birthing process. health services, considering that the mother giving birth at a "dukun beranak" is enough, and involving herself in the postpartum mother's process. This is an obstacle to efforts to deal with maternal and child deaths through safe motherhood. This research method uses a quantitative correlation design with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study was pregnant and postpartum women registered at 3 private hospitals in Eastern Indonesia totaling 122 mothers. The sampling technique uses total sampling. Data analysis using Chi-Square. The research results show that there is a significant relationship between sociocultural support and safe motherhood practices which has a p-value of 0.004. Good sociocultural support has a high impact on safe motherhood practices to reduce maternal and child mortality from the start.
