Abstract

This study presents a systematic literature review (SLR) of scholarly research published between 2014 and 2023, with the aim of identifying prevailing trends, methodological approaches, and contextual factors surrounding the use of Machine Learning (ML) models for records classification within Records Management and Archival Science. Employing the PRISMA framework, the review analyzes a curated selection of studies to assess the scope and maturity of ML applications in this domain. The findings revealed that while ML has been increasingly explored for tasks such as classification and appraisal, its application remains geographically skewed, with the majority of studies originating from Global North countries. The models employed range from probabilistic and regression-based algorithms to decision tree classifiers, reflecting diverse but largely traditional methodological approaches. The adoption of more sophisticated techniques, including deep learning and large language models, was still limited. The study underscores a critical research gap concerning the implementation of advanced ML models, particularly in the context of Global South institutions, where such technologies could significantly enhance recordkeeping efficiency and scalability. This review highlights the need for further empirical studies that develop and evaluate cutting-edge ML models in diverse archival contexts, promoting more inclusive and globally representative innovation in archival automation.

Abstract

Pengumpulan dan pengolahan data mengoperasikan pendekatan PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) 2020.

Abstract

Social networking is a platform where various users with different information needs, and access purposes come together. With this condition, to ensure the security and privacy comfort of users, Anonymity has emerged as a "minimal facility" to secure personal information when users are networking. However, as the characteristics of users evolve over time, there is a shift in usage preferences and compliance with regulations and ethics in social networking spaces. This also leads to the simultaneous growth of malfunctions in Anonymity that lead to unethical actions and even criminal activities. With various issues arising, this paper aims to explore the shift in usage patterns and user characteristics contributing to the emergence of Anonymity deviations in the digital space, using the concepts of digital culture and ethics. Using a literature review method, this research aims to form a comprehensive understanding of the use of Anonymity in the digital space. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a constructivist paradigm, focusing on collecting conceptual and theoretical data as well as supporting data related to freedom of expression, anonymity, participatory culture, and the dominance of subjective knowledge in the digital space over a span of 15 years (2008-2023). The study's results are expected to provide recommendations acceptable to all stakeholders and serve as a basis for further discussion in the same context in the future. The research concludes that Anonymity in the digital space presents challenges related to intellectual property rights, an increase in cybercrime cases, and uncontrolled access to controversial content such as pornography, making government regulation difficult due to technical constraints.

Abstract

Knowledge Management (KM) is essential for organizations to remain competitive and innovative in today's rapidly evolving global landscape. Virtual Communities of Practice (VCoPs) have emerged as valuable platforms for knowledge sharing and collaboration among individuals with common professional interests. The purpose of this research is to analyze how knowledge develops in virtual communities of practice based on the SECI concept by Nonaka Takeuchi. The data comes from any scientific paper about the implementation of KM in VCoPs in several fields from 2017 until 2023. This research utilized a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) based on the PICOC methodology. This systematic literature review observes and identifies KM implementation through its knowledge conversion concept. The result show that Socialization process in virtual spaces are crucial for overcoming barriers like distance and time, allowing continuous knowledge sharing even outside regular working hours. Externalization process facilitate the sharing of relevant professional knowledge, including stories, concepts, videos, or images related to daily work experiences. In the Combination process, there are differences between one VCoP and another because it is influenced by the online/virtual media used. Internalization as sustainability of knowledge sharing processes, especially related to mentoring, varies across different VCoPs. The conclusion is while KM have become integral for VcoPs, challenges such as platform limitations and varying success in implementing knowledge sharing processes exist.

Abstract

Digitizing personnel records is a strategic step that not only improves administrative efficiency but also strengthens knowledge governance within organizations. This study aims to analyze the role of personnel records digitization in improving efficiency and accessibility, preventing the risk of organizational memory loss, identifying supporting factors and barriers to implementation, and examining its implications for organizational knowledge preservation. The method used is a literature review of six research articles related to personnel records digitization in various government and private institutions in Indonesia. The results show that digitization accelerates archive retrieval, increases employee productivity, and reduces the risk of damage to physical archives. Without digitization, organizations risk facing organizational memory loss, which hinders accountability and the transfer of institutional knowledge. The main supporting factors for digitalization implementation include leadership support, regulations, technological infrastructure, and human resource competencies, while barriers include budget constraints, low digital literacy, archive complexity, and the risk of data leakage. The implications of this study show that digitization is not only a technical solution but also a long-term strategy to maintain the continuity of organizational knowledge. Theoretically, these results strengthen the integration between records management and knowledge management within the framework of Records Continuum and Organizational Memory Theory. Practically, these findings provide a basis for organizations to formulate archive digitization policies that are oriented towards efficiency as well as the preservation of institutional knowledge.

Abstract

This study examines the information seeking behavior of undergraduate students of the Faculty of Humanities Universitas Indonesia (FIB UI) related to the learning process in universities and evaluates the use of eresources subscribed by UI Library. This research adapts the model of information seeking behavior by Ellis, Cox and Hall (Behavioral Model of Information Seeking Strategies) which was later adapted by Wilson (a model of the Gross-Information Seeking Strategies) to analyze and provide a description of students’ information seeking behavior in supporting their learning process and research. Data were collected in this study through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions of 16 FIB UI students. The findings of this study indicate that students need information from e-resources for their academic purposes, such as doing their coursework. The findings also indicate that students are proficient in identifying the uniqueness of eresources subscribed by UI Library to meet their information needs. However, this study also found some obstacles that cause the less utilization of the e-resources, for example: lack of socialization and promotion, lack of integration with lecture activities, lack of encouragement from lecturers, and other individual issues. According to those findings, this study proposed several suggestions related to information search barriers, UI library should be more proactive in promoting its resources at student events; lecturers should be more active in directing students to use e-resources from UI Library, and the need for lectures that lead students in information searching strategy.
