Abstract

The increasing interest of late adolescents in digital content provides an excellent opportunity to distribute self-learning resources that can facilitate understanding science concepts in daily life. Unfortunately, social media as a means of disseminating digital content is still dominated by entertainment content. The lack of science education videos that are interesting and suitable for the characteristics of late adolescents on social media causes late adolescents to prefer entertainment content over educational content. Therefore, this research was initiated to develop a science education video based on digital storytelling and identify aspects of validity, practicality, and effectiveness of educational videos as a source of independent learning for late adolescents. This research includes Research and Development (R&D), using the 4D model of defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. This research produced a product in the form of a science education video based on digital storytelling as an independent learning resource for late adolescents that has been declared valid, practical, and effective. The validation percentage score of 82.5% is included in the very valid category. The practicality aspect met the very practical criteria, with a score of 92.66%. Effectiveness received an N-Gain score of 0.78 and was included in the high category. Based on the study's results, this digital storytelling-based science education video can be utilized as an independent learning resource for late adolescents.

Abstract

This community service activity was motivated by the challenges faced by partner educators, including limited skills in using science teaching kits (KIT IPA) and difficulties in finding alternative simple teaching tools. These issues hinder innovation in science education at the MTs level. The objectives of this program were: 1) to provide information on the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum (IKM) and project-based learning, 2) to develop teaching modules and student worksheets (LKPD) based on wetland environment projects, and 3) to demonstrate project-based learning methods. The methods employed included socialization, training, mentoring, evaluation, and sustainability planning. The results showed that teachers gained an understanding of the Merdeka Curriculum implementation, were able to develop project-based teaching modules and LKPD and received practical examples of project-based learning. This program supports MTs science teacher working groups (MGMP) in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum, utilizing KIT IPA, and employing simple tools for project-based environmental learning.

Abstract

Kurangnya motivasi dan semangat dalam belajar dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional terutama dalam pelajaran IPA, serta lamanya bagi peserta didik dalam mengerjakan LKPD. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan efesiensi belajar peserta didik pada pelajaran IPA pada materi sistem peredaran darah. Penelitian ini termasuk kedalam penelitian eksperimen semu (quasy experimental design) yaitu penelitian yang melibatkan dua kelas yaitu kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Subjek penelitian adalah 30 peserta didik kelas Eksperimen dan 30 peserta didik pada kelas Kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen angket dan soal pretest posttest. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan : (1) motivasi belajar peserta didik pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,003 0,05 sehingga model pembelajaran yang digunakan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan, (2) perrbandingan waktu penggunaan model Index Card Match dengan LKPD juga efesien karena penggunaan model pembelajaran tidak banyak menghabiskan jam pelajaran, dan (3) keefektifan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Index Card Match didapatkan t hitung 3, 519 t tabel 2,00247sehingga model pembelajaran lebih kooperatif lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Index Card Match yang digunakan efektif dan memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan daripada model konvensional.

Abstract

Mocaf ialah tepung yang umumnya dibuat dari tumbuhan berjenis umbi-umbian dengan melakukan fermentasi (merendam ke dalam air). Semakin lama tanaman berumbi direndam maka akan menurunkan kadar karbohidrat di dalamnya, yang mana ini dapat menjadi potensi bagi individu terlibat Diabetes Mellitus (DM) untuk mendapatkan alternatif camilan yang aman nan lezat. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk 1) Mengetahui lama perendaman terhadap kadar karbohidrat pada mocaf ubi nagara dan 2) Mengetahui kue kering mocaf ubi nagara dapat diterima atau tidak. Menggunakan hasil penelitian ini diharapkan mampu memberi pengetahuan kepada khalayak terhadap potensi ubi nagara, salah satu flora endemik Kalimantan Selatan dalam pangan aman penyakit beresiko. Rancangan Acak Percobaan (RAL) adalah metode yang dilakukan untuk melihat pengaruh lama perendaman ubi nagara terhadap karbohidrat dan analisis uji organoleptik untuk mengetahui daya terima terhadap kue kering mocaf ubi nagara. Hasil penelitian ialah lama perendaman berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kadar karbohidrat dan perendaman selama 72 jam menghasilkan rerata kadar karbohidrat paling rendah, yaitu 0,625g/potong. Hasil uji organoleptik yang diperoleh ialah 52,5% menyatakan “Sangat Suka” dan 35,7% menyatakan “Suka” terhadap kue kering mocaf ubi nagara. Berdasarkan penelitian, kue kering mocaf ubi nagara cocok untuk menjadi camilan yang ramah bagi penderita DM.

Abstract

Rendahnya keterampilan literasi sains siswa disebabkan oleh beberapa bahan ajar yang belum mampu memfasilitasi kompetensi-kompetensi yang ada pada aspek literasi sains. Berdasarkan hal tersebut penelitian ini dilakukan agar menghasilkan bahan ajar interaktif berbasis Nearpod dalam pembelajaran IPA materi pemanasan global yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Peneliti mengembangkan penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (RD) dengan model ADDIE. Teknik perolehan data menggunakan lembar validasi ahli media dan materi, angket respon peserta didik, dan hasil tes belajar melalui pretest dan postest. Hasil penelitian pengembangan ini memperoleh validitas E-modul dengan skor 0,81 dalam kategori sangat valid melalui uji validitas Aiken’s V. Aspek kepraktisan memperoleh skor 87,44% dalam kategori sangat praktis melalui angket respon peserta didik, serta aspek keefektifan memperoleh skor 0,61 yang termasuk dalam kategori sedang.

Abstract

Media charta interaktif merupakan media pembelajaran berupa gambar yang bisa dipahami peserta didik karena dapat memvisualisasi sesuatu yang akan dijelaskan dengan lebih konkrit dan realistis. Materi anatomi organ pendengaran manusia berkarakteristik faktual tetapi tidak tervisualisasi. Dengan begitu diperlukan media agar materi bersifat kongkret dan mudah dipahami. Penelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis validitas, kepraktisan, serta keefektifan media pembelajaran charta interaktif sub materi anatomi organ pendengaran manusia pada pembelajaran IPA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode RD (Research and Development) dan model pengembangan FOUR-D yang terdiri 4 tahap (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), namun hanya sampai 3 tahap saja untuk diuji kelayakan. Hasil pengembangan charta interaktif ini diuji kelas sebanyak 33 orang peserta didik kelas VIII C SMPN 2 Banjarmasin. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis deskriptif yang meliputi analisis validitas Aiken's V, analisis kepraktisan menggunakan persentase dan analisis keefektifan menggunakan persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media charta interaktif yang dikembangkan mendapat skor validitas sebesar 86%, skor kepraktisan guru 100%, peserta didik 92%, dan keefektifan 97%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pengembangan tersebut dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa media pembelajaran charta interaktif sub materi anatomi organ pendengaran manusia pada pembelajaran IPA dinyatakan layak dan dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

The questioning skill ability is essential for students to promote science learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze students' questioning skills towards cognitive science learning outcomes. There are two students' questioning skills studied, namely factual questions and amazement. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through observation, learning outcome tests, and documentation. Observations of questioning skills are observed based on four group categories, namely factual, amazement, both questions and no questions. The results of the study showed that students who actively asked questions, especially factual and amazement types of questions, had higher cognitive learning outcomes than students who did not ask questions. The group of students with factual questions and asking both questions experienced a significant increase in learning outcome scores, while the group of students who did not ask questions and students who were only surprised experienced a small increase. Based on the learning outcome scores of students in the four question groups, it is important for students to ask a lot of questions in order to increase the achievement of cognitive science learning outcomes. This study indicates that students' questioning skills are related to student learning outcomes. The more active students ask questions, and the more varied the types of questions asked, the greater the increase in student learning outcomes. The many variations of questions asked by students are the key to deepening understanding. Students can improve their learning outcomes in a deeper and more meaningful learning process by asking many questions. This study reinforces the importance of the teacher's role in encouraging students to ask more questions during the learning process by providing appropriate motivation and treatment.

Abstract

The Effect of Socratic Questioning-Based Student Worksheets on Improving Students’ Critical Thinking Skills. Objective: The ability to think critically plays an essential role in students' achievement in the 21st century, yet its development in science classroom instruction continues to be insufficient. Science education can be monotonous, the content is often perceived as complex, and students typically lack confidence during discussions. This study investigates the influence of Socratic Questioning-based Student Worksheets (SQ-SW) on the improvement of critical thinking skills among junior high school students regarding excretory system content. The novelty of this study lies in the deliberate integration of Socratic questioning techniques into student workbooks, a topic that has been scarcely explored in previous research. Methods: This study employed a quasi-experimental framework with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Participants involved 64 eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 27 Banjarmasin, Indonesia, selected through purposive sampling. The experimental group used the SQ-SW, while the control group used conventional worksheets. Data were collected through a validated response questionnaire and a critical thinking skills assessment, both of which have been confirmed as valid and reliable. Data were analyzed using a descriptive qualitative approach, normality and homogeneity tests, paired-sample t-tests, and independent-sample t-tests. Findings: The findings indicated that SQ-SW could be efficiently applied with a commendable rating. Students in the experimental group demonstrated notable progress in critical thinking, achieving a moderate N-gain (0.56), whereas the control group achieved only a minimal N-gain (0.11). Four critical thinking dimensions (question formulation, hypothesis creation, self-regulation, and conclusion formation) showed moderate advancement. However, the analytical dimension displayed more constrained growth. Conclusion: The use of SQ-SW significantly influences junior secondary students' mastery of excretory system content and their development of critical thinking. Integrating Socratic questions throughout student worksheets creates a systematic, motivating pedagogical approach that breaks conventional classroom routines while enhancing conceptual depth. This investigation introduces a fresh educational technique adaptable to diverse science subjects and academic stages.   Keywords: critical thinking skill, excretory system, science learning, socratic questioning.

Abstract

Kurangnya penggunaan media pembelajaran yang interaktif dan sesuai dalam pembelajaran IPA berdampak terhadap rendahnya pencapaian hasil belajar peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan media poster book digital guna meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik pada ranah kognitif dan afektif dalam dimensi Profil Pelajar Pancasila. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk menganalisis perbedaan hasil belajar sebelum dan setelah penggunaan media, serta membandingkan hasil belajar antara kelas yang diberi perlakuan menggunakan poster book digital dan kelompok yang tidak. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif menggunakan desain quasi eksperimen. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Karang Intan, sebanyak 59 peserta didik dari kelas VIIIA dan VIIIB. Data diperoleh melalui tes hasil belajar dan observasi. Hasil analisis uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan bahwa nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000, yang lebih kecil dari 0,05, menandakan perbedaan signifikan hasil belajar sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan media. Uji Mann-Whitney juga menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelas berdasarkan nilai hasil belajar kognitif yang ditunjukkan oleh nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000. Hasil belajar afektif pada indikator bergotong royong menunjukkan perbedaan, dengan kategori sangat baik pada kelas yang menggunakan media poster book digital. Kedua kelas mencapai kategori sangat baik pada indikator kreatif. Kesimpulannya, pemanfaatan media poster book digital dinyatakan efektif dalam menunjang peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik.
