Abstract

Sekolah Tinggi Agama Buddha (STAB) Nalanda yang menyelenggarakan pendidikan tinggi keagamaan Buddha, bertugas menyiapkan calon guru yang mempunyai kecerdasan spiritual. Salah satu kecerdasan spiritual yang harus dimiliki adalah pengendalian diri. Bila setiap manusia, termasuk para mahasiswa, menyadari peranan pikiran dalam kehidupan makhluk dan akibat-akibatnya, maka mereka akan berusaha mengendalikan diri. Pikiran yang terkendali akan mengakibatkan ucapan dan perbuatannya juga menjadi baik, sehingga akan memberikan ketenangan dan kebahagiaan. Peranan pikiran yang penting dalam kehidupan makhluk ini akan ditinjau dari sudut pandang Romo Pandit Jinaratana Kaharuddin, seorang pakar Abhidhamma yang membabarkan Abhidhamma pertama kali di Indonesia. Dengan mengetahui perjuangan Romo Pandit J. Kaharuddin, generasi muda Buddhis diharapkan dapat menghargai jasa-jasa beliau dan mengikuti teladannya. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif naratif, dengan menampilkan sosok Romo Pandit J Kaharuddin dan pandangannya tentang peranan pikiran dalam kehidupan makhluk. Peneliti mengumpulkan data -data dari mengadakan wawancara langsung dengan Romo Pandit Jinaratana Kaharuddin untuk mengetahui biografi kehidupan Romo Pandit J. Kaharuddin, perjuangannya dalam mengembangkan pembelajaran Abhidhamma di Indonesia, dan pandangannya tentang pikiran adalah raja kehidupan. Peneliti juga mengadakan wawancara dengan Ibu Abhayahema Kaharuddin (isteri Romo Pandit J. Kaharuddin) dan dua orang siswa utama Romo Pandit J. Kaharuddin, yaitu Romo Ir. Selamat Rodjali dan Ibu Silvia Lam, S.E. Romo Pandit J. Kaharuddin merupakan seorang pakar Abhidhamma yang telah berjasa dalam mengembangkan Abhidhamma pertama kali di Indonesia, yaitu kepada para mahasiswa-mahasiswi Akademi Buddhis Nalanda, Jakarta, pada bulan September 1979. Beliau merupakan satu-satunya orang dari anggota Sangha Pertama di Indonesia (yang bernama Sangha Suci Indonesia) yang masih hidup saat ini, yang telah berusia 80 tahun. Pandangan beliau tentang pikiran adalah Raja Kehidupan sangat memotivasi umat Buddha untuk mengelola pikirannya dengan baik, mengendalikan pikirannya agar selalu terkonsentrasi ke hal-hal yang baik, sehingga ucapan dan perbuatannya juga menjadi baik. Ini sesuai dengan nasihat Sang Buddha yang berbunyi “Sacitta pariyo dapanam” atau “Sucikan pikiran” ; ini merupakan singkatan dari Abhidhamma Pitaka.

Abstract

This research aims to provide solutions how to address various actions to women that happen happens. This research is aliterature study. This study uses a methodological approach, and the data obtained are concepts from various general literaturethat are relevant to the topic. The results of the research obtained are how to protect against acts of violence against womenthat occur due to human actions. By understanding and having love and compassion that manifests in the act of caring forwomen as a form of good morality, it will be able to provide maximum results in protecting women. By understanding eachother and the feeling of mutual need, the acts of violence against women will diminish.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of spiritual intelligence and learning motivation on student achievement of Buddhist Sunday School (SMB) Chong-De North Sumatra. This study uses multiple regression analysis to determine the effect of spiritual intelligence (X1) and learning motivation (X2) on student achievement (Y). In this study the determination of the sample using quota sampling technique with the number of samples used in this study as many as 198 respondents. This study uses primary data, data is collected by distributing questionnaires to respondents via google forms. Testing the research hypothesis using SPSS 20.0 for Windows.The results showed that spiritual intelligence (X1) had a positive effect on student achievement (Y) Buddhist Sunday School (SMB) Chong De North Sumatra with a correlation coefficient score of ry1 = 0.732 and a determination coefficient score of r2y1 = 0.535. Learning motivation (X2) has a positive effect on student achievement (Y) Buddhist Sunday School (SMB) Chong De North Sumatra with a correlation coefficient score of ry2 = 0.852 and a determination coefficient score of r2y2 = 0.727. Spiritual intelligence (X1) and learning motivation (X2) have a positive and significant effect on student achievement (Y) Buddhist Sunday School (SMB) ChongDe North Sumatra with a correlation coefficient score of ry1,2 = 0.879 and a determination coefficient score of r2y1,2= 0.772. The regression equation in this study is as follows: 1.2 = 23.008 + 0.258 X1 + 0.626 X2.Based on these results, to optimize student achievement, policies and regulations are needed to increase spiritual intelligence and learning motivation.

Abstract

Performance at Guang Ming Elementary School appears to be not optimal. Low quality of graduates is still homework to support the success of future education front. This aspect is still an obstacle faced by Guang Ming Elementary School. The objectives of this research are to (1) Analyze The influence between interpersonal communication and the performance of Guang Elementary School teachers Ming throughout Indonesia (2) Analyze the influence between job satisfaction and performance of Guang Ming Elementary School teachers throughout Indonesia (3) Analyze the influence between interpersonal communication and job satisfaction simultaneously towards the performance of Guang Ming Elementary School teachers throughout Indonesia. This research uses Quantitative research method using Cluster Random sampling technique. Based on this technique, the population in this study was Guang Elementary School teachers Ming throughout Indonesia, totaling 102 people. Based on Slovin’s formula, The total sample taken in this research was 81 teachers. Object This research is about the performance of Guang Ming Elementary School teachers throughout Indonesia

Abstract

This research aims to determine the extent of the quality of the teaching materials used and develop teaching materials that are adapted to the characteristics of learners, due to the limitations of the teaching materials that have been used and create new teaching materials that are more appropriate and appropriate for student education in West Kalimantan Province. This research method uses a qualitative approach with R&D research methods. The subjects in this research were 42 students in West Kalimantan Province. The research and development procedure for the R& model consists of five steps, namely; (1) Analysis (analysis), (2) Design (design), (3) Development (development), (4) Implementation (implementation) and (5) Evaluation (evaluation). The results of the analysis show that the Buddhist Vihara Graha Sailendra Sunday School learning conditions at this week's school are still teacher-centered using printed books and limited use of learning media. It was found from the results of post-test data from 42 students that only 39 reached the KKM on Buddhist religious holiday material, while 3 did not reach the KKM.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of variations in body angle on propulsion force and water resistance in swimming athletes through a biomechanical approach. The background of the study is based on the importance of movement efficiency in swimming, where a less than optimal body position can increase the drag coefficient, thereby slowing swimming speed. The research method uses a quantitative experimental design involving professional and semi-professional level swimmers. The instruments used include a motion capture system to record body movements, force sensors to measure propulsion and water resistance, and biomechanical software to analyze force vectors and drag coefficients. The results show significant differences in swimming performance based on variations in body angle. At an angle of 0°, the average propulsion force generated is 145.3 N with a drag coefficient of 0.92. At an angle of 15°, the propulsion force increases to 162.7 N with the lowest drag coefficient of 0.78. Meanwhile, at an angle of 30°, the propulsion force decreases to 150.1 N with the drag coefficient again increasing to 0.88. These findings demonstrate that a 15° body angle is the most optimal position because it minimizes water resistance while maximizing propulsion, thereby increasing swimming efficiency. The implications of this study suggest that a biomechanical approach can be used as a reference in planning swimming training programs. In addition to contributing to the development of sports science, the results of this study also have practical benefits for athletes and coaches in developing more effective training strategies. Future research is recommended to expand the sample size and include various swimming styles to strengthen the generalizability of the results.

Abstract

Hilman Rama Pratama / 2023010429 / 2024 / The Influence of Motivation and Discipline on Learning Concentration in Dong Yi Gong Exercise Skills among Private Junior High School Students in Bekasi City. Master’s Thesis in Buddhist Religious Education, Institut Nalanda. Advisor: Dr. Isomudin, S.H., M.Pd. and Dr. Mettadewi Wong, S.Ag., S.H., M.Pd.B. This study aimed to analyze the influence of motivation and discipline on students’ learning concentration in Dong Yi Gong exercise skills. Learning concentration is a key factor in educational achievement and is strongly assumed to be influenced by students’ motivation and discipline. The research employed a quantitative approach with correlational and multiple linear regression design. The sample consisted of 60 students from a private junior high school in Bekasi City, selected randomly. A validated and reliable questionnaire was used as the research instrument. Data were analyzed using correlation tests, t-tests, F-tests, and regression with the aid of SPSS. The results indicated that motivation and discipline had a positive and significant influence on learning concentration. Partially, motivation (X₁) produced the regression equation Y = 86.696 + 0.493X₁ with tcount = 15.817 > ttable = 1.672 and a simple correlation coefficient ry₁ = 0.9010. Discipline (X₂) produced the regression equation Y = 6.889 + 2.403X₂ with Fcount = 220.182 (p < 0.05) and coefficient of determination R² = 0.774. Simultaneously, motivation and discipline contributed 73.1% to learning concentration with the multiple regression equation Ŷ = 89.367 + 0.088X₁ + 0.330X₂.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the increasing prevalence of bullying, both directly and through social media, which occurs not only in formal schools but also in Buddhist Sunday Schools (Sekolah Minggu Buddha/SMB). Such phenomena cause intimidation, discrimination, and trauma that disrupt the learning process and contradict Buddhist values emphasizing loving-kindness and self-restraint. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of the values of Hiri (a sense of shame in committing wrongdoing) and Ottappa (fear of the consequences of misconduct) as efforts to prevent bullying at SMB Aman Sejahtera Semparuk. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with participants consisting of three teachers, three parents, and seven students. Data were collected through interviews with a total of thirteen respondents. The findings reveal three key points. First, teachers consistently instill the concepts of Hiri and Ottappa in the learning process as a preventive measure against bullying. Second, these values are implemented through advice, habituation, and character strengthening in classroom activities. Third, their application has proven effective in transforming students’ behavior positively and reducing bullying incidents within SMB. Therefore, Hiri and Ottappa serve as ethical-religious approaches that are relevant for character formation and for preventing bullying, both in Buddhist Sunday Schools and in formal educational settings.

Abstract

Currently, Buddhist Vocational High Schools (SMK) have emerged in Indonesia. These schools are vocational high schools based on Buddhist teachings in their learning approach. However, 35%–40% of the students are non-Buddhists. This study aims to: 1) Analyze the underlying factors behind the decision-making of non- Buddhist parents in choosing Buddhist Vocational High Schools in Tangerang Regency, 2) Analyze the role of Buddhist values in the decision-making process of parents when selecting Buddhist Vocational High Schools in Tangerang Regency. This is a qualitative case study conducted at a Buddhist Vocational High School in Tangerang Regency, namely SMK Atisa Dipamkara. The subjects of this study are parents of non-Buddhist students enrolled in the Buddhist school. Data were collected using interview techniques. A total of eight (8) non-Buddhist parents were interviewed, consisting of one Muslim, four Christians, two Catholics, and one Hindu. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles, Huberman, and Sadana method. The results of the study are as follows: 1) The decision-making process of parents in choosing a Buddhist Vocational High School in Tangerang Regency is influenced by several factors, including the student’s interests and talents, school quality, distance, positive public perception, tolerance, school culture, Buddhist teachings, character education, positive values observed in Buddhist communities, and the desire to introduce diversity, 2) The Buddhist values that play a role in the parents’ decision-making in choosing a Buddhist Vocational High School in Tangerang Regency include inner peace, tolerance, meditation practices, loving- kindness, generosity (dāna), self-restraint, the law of karma, and respect for parents
