Abstract

Firm value is investors 'perceptions of the company's success related to debt prices that are relatively used for equity funding. Company value reflects investors' views on a company's success rate which is often associated with stock prices, so that if the stock price is high, the company value can be high. This study aims to analyze the influence of capital structure, company growth and profitability as factors that affect firm value in manufacturing companies that carry out Initial Public Offering (IPO) policies for the 2009-2018 period. This research will also examine the dividend policy variable which is used as a mediating variable in the research model.The population is the companies implementing Initial Public Offering (IPO) policies for the 2009-2018 period. The population of this study was 166, the sample selection method used in this study was purposive sampling method with a total of 38 companies that met the criteria. The types of data used were secondary data and the data were analyzed using cross-sectional data analysis techniques and Interaction Moderating Test with the help of Eviews 9 software.The results of this study indicate that at ? 5%, capital structure, company growth, and profitability have a significant effect on company values. The results of this study also show that dividend policy is able to mediate the capital structure and profitability of firm value, on the other hand, dividend policy is not able to mediate company growth on firm value.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the influence of service quality dimension, namelytangible (physical evidence), reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy,on the statisfaction of customers at the payment counters for electricity, water, andonline telephone services of Mitra Sumatera 008 Stabat. The population of this study consists of customers. The research sample consist of 30 respondents selectedusing Non- Probability sampling technique with an Accidental Sampling approach.This approach selects respondents based on chance encounters with the researcherand considered suitable to be included as samples. The analysis results indicatethat the indicators are valid and the variables are reliable, thus they can be used for further   analysis.   In   testing   the   classical   assumptions,   no   issues   ofmulticollinearity              (high correlation between independent variables).  heteroscedasticity (unequal residual variances), or non-normal distribution of residuals were found. This indicates that the regression model used satisfies the classical assumptions. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the dimension of service   quality,   namely   tangible, reliability,   responsiveness, assurance, and empathy, have a significant influence on the satisfaction of customers

Abstract

This research aims to identify the tourism potential of Galang Island. The assumption underlying this research is that the development of a Tourism Village area can increase the overall tourism attractiveness of Galang Island and provide economic and social benefits for the local community. This research uses a case study approach because it is in accordance with the nature of research that centers on observing specific phenomena and contexts so that researchers can collect data thoroughly through observation, interviews, and document analysis related to the development of the Tourism Village area on the island. This research found that Galang Island has significant tourism potential with community support, but the challenges of infrastructure and economic empowerment still need to be overcome and require further research for tourism diversification and collaboration with the private sector.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh tingkat suku bunga deposito dan kualitas pelayanan terhadap kepuasan nasabah di PT BPR Dana Nusantara Kepulauan Riau. Penelitian ini menggunakan data primer dengan pengumpulan datanya menggunakan kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada 80 nasabah BPR Dana Nusantara. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan SPSS. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa tingkat suku bunga deposito dan kualitas pelayanan berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kepuasan nasabah.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the profitability, fixed costs, variable costs, and break-even point of the Polibatam Store selling clothing and accessories or merchandise. This research uses an analytical method by collecting financial data related to fixed costs, variable costs, and revenue. This research uses primary data. Meanwhile, price and sales data relevant to Polibatam Store. Based on the results of this study entitled Break Even Point Analysis at Polibatam Store, it can be concluded that Polibatam Store has determined the break-even point of Polibatam Store products. Polibatam Store sets a profit target of 40% and with a quantity of 370 units. The total capital for this category is Rp16,900,000 with sales revenue of Rp23,500,000 which results in a profit of Rp6,600,000. While the accessories or merchandise category includes totebags, notebooks, headscarves, brooches, and so on with total sales of Rp9,180,000 resulting in a profit of Rp2,620,000. But after doing the calculations, the researcher found that to break even, namely with income and expenses, Polibatam Store needs to add as many as 24 units. This research provides a comprehensive overview of the profitability, cost, and break-even analysis of the clothing and accessories sales business, as well as the time required to recover the initial business capital.

Abstract

Consumer boycotts have become an increasingly significant form of consumer activism, driven by ethical, political, and social concerns. This study explores the psychological motivations behind boycott participation in Batam, focusing on emotional triggers, social identity influences, and perceived effectiveness. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions with 30 respondents from Generation X, Y, and Z. Thematic analysis was conducted manually, highlighting key motivations such as moral responsibility, peer influence, and digital activism. The findings reveal that Gen Z engages in boycotts as an expression of online activism, Gen Y is driven by ethical consumption, and Gen X remains skeptical and pragmatic. This research contributes to the literature on consumer activism, ethical consumption, and social identity theory, offering insights for businesses, policymakers, and advocacy groups on how to navigate boycott movements and maintain consumer trust.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors of generation Z entrepreneurial intentions in the agricultural sector in the industrial city of Batam. The population in this study is management students from 4 universities in Batam City with a total of 200 respondents. This research is a quantitative research. The method used to analyze the data is factor analysis. In this study, there are 19 variables that can be reduced to several factors with the results of the study showing that there are 5 new factors, namely economic improvement, decision-making, interest, entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial confidence.

Abstract

This article aims to discuss the financial performance of banks in generating profitability during the national economic recovery. Profitability is the ability of a company to create maximum profit efficiently and effectively. Profitability is also a benchmark for assessing a bank. This study aims to analyze the influence of Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), Operating Costs and Operating Income (BOPO) and Profitability as factors that influence BUMN Banks conducting Initial Public Offering (IPO) policies for the 2019-2019 period. 2021. This study also examines Return On Assets (ROA) as a mediating variable in the research model. The sample selection method used in this study was a purposive sampling method with a total of 4 state-owned banks that met the criteria. The type of data used is secondary data and cross sectional data analysis data and the Interaction Moderating Test with the help of Statcal software. The conclusion from this study is that the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) and Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) have a positive effect on Return On Assets (ROA) while BOPO has a negative effect on Return On Assets (ROA). The Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) has a positive effect on Return On Investment (ROI) while the Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) and BOPO have a negative effect on Return On Investment (ROI). On the other hand, Return On Assets (ROA) is unable to mediate the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) and BOPO to Return On Investment (ROI).

Abstract

This research aims to design an effective and targeted training program to uncover the skill and knowledge needs of Culinary SMEs in Batam City. The study adopts a qualitative descriptive research approach, with Culinary SMEs in Batam City serving as the informants. The research was conducted from August to November 2023, involving Bizhub Polibatam, Faculty Members, and Project Based Learning students from Department of Business Management. The research findings will be utilized as a reference by Bizhub Polibatam in developing relevant training programs to enhance the competitiveness of Culinary SMEs in Batam, thereby contributing positively to local economic growth. The pressing training needs identified for Culinary SMEs in Batam include Marketing and Digitalization Training, as well as Financial Management, preferably conducted in-person through seminars or workshops with a duration of 1-3 days.

Abstract

The Tax Volunteer Program is a concrete step in the dedication of the Batam State Polytechnic academic community to assist the role of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) in conducting tax education to increase taxpayer awareness and compliance. This program is also used as PBL which is required for D3 Accounting Study Program students and involves 5 courses in the 4th semester. Volunteers assist in reporting the Individual Annual Tax Return internally at the Batam State Polytechnic and external parties at the Regional Office of DGT Riau Islands as well as several companies cooperating with the Regional Office of DGT Riau Islands. In 2023, tax volunteers succeeded in assisting 808 Individual Taxpayers both from internal Polibatam and outside Polibatam parties. More than 87% of Individual Taxpayers who were assisted by tax volunteers felt the assistance provided by Polibatam Tax Volunteers was very useful and easy for Individual Taxpayers to understand so it could greatly assist Individual Taxpayers in reporting their tax obligations. Many Individual Taxpayers hope that this program can be carried out every year by increasing the skills and understanding of tax volunteers and improving the mechanism for implementing assistance by adding a short tutorial on reporting the Individual Annual Tax Return through e-Filing.
