Abstract

This study analyzes strategies for implementing Pancasila values in the learning process aimed at shaping moderate, tolerant, and patriotic character among students of the Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Program at Universitas Serambi Mekkah. Employing a qualitative field research design, data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with lecturers and students, and documentation of instructional materials, including Semester Learning Plans (RPS), teaching resources, and academic activity records. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive qualitative techniques encompassing data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, and was reinforced by a review of relevant literature on radicalism, ideological education, and the internalization of Pancasila values in higher education. The findings reveal that the internalization of Pancasila values through contextual learning strategies, such as dialogical discussions, reflective learning, case-based instruction, the strengthening of ideological literacy, and lecturers’ exemplary conduct, contributes significantly to enhancing students’ awareness of diversity, religious moderation, and national unity. Students not only acquire cognitive understanding of Pancasila but also demonstrate the practical internalization of its values in their daily social interactions. This process strengthens students’ ideological resilience and reduces their susceptibility to radical narratives within the campus environment. The study concludes that learning Pancasila ideology plays a strategic role in preventing radicalism and serves as a fundamental pillar for reinforcing students’ national identity. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening ideological education in a systematic and sustainable manner to foster a moderate, inclusive, and nationally oriented academic environment.

Abstract

This study assessed a Virginia tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) bark–based botanical insecticide for controlling whitefly (Bemisia tabaci) and improving potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) yield. Using a completely randomized design with six concentrations (0–10%), results showed a significant negative linear relationship between insecticide concentration and pest population (R² = 0.98) and infestation intensity (R² = 0.99). The 10% concentration reduced pest populations by 22.82% and produced the lowest infestation levels. Pest population strongly correlated with infestation intensity (R² = 0.98). Yield increased markedly at 10%, with tuber number and weight rising by 66.67% and 82.93%, respectively (R² > 0.99). The insecticidal effect is attributed to nicotine alkaloids and toxic secondary metabolites. These findings highlight the potential of tobacco-based botanical insecticides as a sustainable component of integrated pest management.

Abstract

Women’s economic empowerment through micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) is widely recognized as an important strategy for supporting household livelihoods and local economic resilience. However, women entrepreneurs continue to face structural and socio-cultural constraints, particularly in rural contexts. This study aims to explore how women-owned MSMEs are experienced in relation to family welfare and how empowerment is shaped by Islamic values and local wisdom in Aceh Besar Regency. This study employed a qualitative field research approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and documentation involving 12 women MSME actors selected using purposive sampling. Participants were aged 20–45 years, engaged in culinary, handicraft, and small-scale retail businesses, with business experience ranging from 1 to 10 years. Each interview lasted approximately 45–60 minutes. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. The findings suggest that participants reported contributing to household income, particularly in meeting daily needs and supporting children’s education. MSME activities were also described as helping households manage financial uncertainty. Participants indicated that Islamic values, such as honesty, fairness, and avoidance of riba, along with local practices such as community cooperation, influenced business practices and supported customer trust. At the same time, participants reported ongoing challenges, including limited access to capital, markets, and technology. These findings suggest that women’s involvement in MSMEs is perceived as meaningful for household welfare, while also being shaped by broader structural and socio-cultural contexts.
