Abstract

This study aims to examine the concept of arham in the Qur'an, especially in Surah Al-Ra'd verse 8, and analyze its implementation in medical instrumentation through qualitative methods based on literature or library research. This study uses a text analysis approach to the Qur'an to understand the meaning and implications of arham in the context of the identified verses. Furthermore, through a literature review and library research, this study explores information related to implementing the concept of arham in developing medical technology and instrumentation. The results of this study are expected to provide insight into how the values of arham contained in the teachings of the Qur'an can be integrated and implemented in the development of medical instruments. In addition, this study can contribute to further understanding the relationship between religious principles and scientific progress in the health sector. The practical implications of this study can help medical practitioners, researchers, and policymakers to design and develop medical technology that is more humanistic and by the religious values contained in the Qur'an.

Abstract

Tanwir al-Miqbas min Tafsir Ibni ‘Abbas by Al-Fairuzabadi is a classical tafsir (Quranic exegesis) that compiles the interpretative methodology of Ibnu ‘Abbas and offers a unique perspective in tafsir studies. This study aims to deepen understanding of the interpretative methodology in "Tanwir al-Miqbas," detailing how Ibnu ‘Abbas interpreted the Quran as compiled by Al-Fairuzabadi. Utilizing a qualitative approach and bibliographic research, this study relies on primary and secondary data sources for a descriptive analysis of Al-Fairuzabadi’s biography, interpretative methodology, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of "Tanwir al-Miqbas" tafsir. It reveals that this exegesis emphasizes a global (ijmali) explanation of Quranic verses using popular and accessible language, incorporating narrations of Ibnu ‘Abbas in interpretation. Although considered a tafsir bil ma'tsur, it exhibits broader exploration on certain verses. "Tanwir al-Miqbas" presents an important perspective in tafsir studies, merging ijmali and linguistic interpretative methodologies that directly refer to Prophet Muhammad. Despite questions regarding the validity of its sanad (chain of transmission), this work remains a significant contribution to Quranic exegesis literature.Abstract: Kitab Tanwir al-Miqbas min Tafsir Ibni ‘Abbas karya Al-Fairuzabadi merupakan salah satu tafsir klasik yang menghimpun metodologi penafsiran Ibnu ‘Abbas dan menawarkan perspektif unik dalam studi tafsir. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk memperdalam pemahaman tentang metodologi penafsiran dalam Tanwir al-Miqbas, menguraikan cara Ibnu ‘Abbas menafsirkan Al-Quran yang dikompilasi oleh Al-Fairuzabadi. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan penelitian kepustakaan, penelitian ini mengandalkan sumber data primer dan sekunder untuk analisis deskriptif tentang biografi Al-Fairuzabadi, metodologi penafsiran, serta kelebihan dan kekurangan tafsir Tanwir al-Miqbas. Kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa kitab tafsir ini menekankan penjelasan global (ijmali) ayat-ayat Al-Quran menggunakan bahasa yang populer dan mudah dipahami, menggabungkan riwayat Ibnu ‘Abbas dalam penafsiran. Meski dianggap sebagai tafsir bil ma'tsur, terdapat eksplorasi lebih luas pada ayat tertentu. Kitab Tanwir al-Miqbas menawarkan perspektif penting dalam studi tafsir, menggabungkan metodologi penafsiran ijmali dan linguistik yang merujuk langsung kepada Nabi Muhammad SAW. Meskipun ada pertanyaan mengenai validitas sanad, karya ini tetap berkontribusi signifikan dalam literatur tafsir Al-Quran

Abstract

In the context of family life, parents are considered a very important factor in creating and maintaining blessings for their children. The piety or righteousness of parents becomes the cause of Allah's mercy and protection not only for themselves but also for their descendants. Therefore, this article discusses the significance of parental righteousness, which has a profound impact on Allah's protection of their offspring, through the perspective of exegeses on Surah Al-Kahfi, verse 82. This article adopts a thematic tafsir approach by comparing the explanations of classical and contemporary scholars, namely Ibn Kathir and Wahbah Az-Zuhaili, on the key study of Surah Al-Kahfi, verse 82. The first part of this discussion introduces brief biographies of the two scholars, their tafsir writing systems, and the approaches to interpretation they employed. It then presents their respective interpretations before comparing the two. The findings of this research show that parental righteousness is highly relevant in safeguarding the blessings for their descendants. Both tafsirs agree that parental piety plays a key role in determining blessings, both in material aspects (such as protection of wealth) and spiritual aspects (such as divine guidance and the safety of children in this life and the hereafter).

Abstract

The thoughts and understanding of Indonesian society about thaghut are very diverse, sometimes some groups interpret it excessively so that it becomes an extreme movement. The author takes the theme of the concept of thaghut from the perspective of Sayyid Qutb's interpretation, because some people understand Sayyid Qutb's interpretation is an interpretation that contains radical and extreme elements, so many say Sayyid Qutb's interpretation as a reference to modern khowarij groups (extremists). The purpose of this study the author wants to examine how the interpretation of Sayyid Qutb actually in the problem of thaghut. This research uses the method of library reaserch or library research using Sayyid Qutb's tafsir analysis, which is then concluded objectively. As for the results of this study, the meaning of thaghut according to Sayyid Qutb which is a manhaj, order system that is not based on the rules of Allah, or laws, regulations, traditions that are not in accordance with the shari'a of Allah. Then in his interpretation of Surah Al Maidah 44, 45 and 47 whoever rules with other than Allah's law (thaghut) is pinned to the culprit of the nature of kufr, wicked and unjust, as a consequence of followers of thaghut. With that can make some groups misunderstand, so that it becomes an extreme movement if without seeing his interpretation as a whole, especially about religious moderation in Surah Al Baqarah 143 to maintain community harmony.

Abstract

Penyebaran agama Islam berbanding lurus dengan pertumbuhan tafsir Al-Qur`an di seluruh penjuru dunia. Seringkali, Islam beradaptasi dan kemudian berakulturasi serta menunjukkan aktualisasinya dengan budaya setempat dalam berbagai bentuk. Di antara bentuk aktualisasi pemahaman Al-Qur’an yang muncul di kalangan masyarakat Jawa Tengah adalah lahirnya terjemah Al-Qur’an dalam bentuk tembang macapat. Pada penelitian ini, penulis berkonsentrasi pada buku Sekar Sari Kidung Rahayu: Sekar Macapat Terjemahanipun Juz ‘amma karya Achmad Djuwahir Anomwidjaja. Penelitian ini mempunyai nilai penting karena selama ini studi ketokohan Achmad Djuwahir Anomwidjaja belum ditemukan secara komprehensif terlebih yang berkaitan dengan pemahamannya terhadap Al-Qur`an. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini adalah pertama untuk mengetahui bagaimana sejarah hidup Achmad Djuwahir Anomwidjaja, dan kedua bagaimana internalisasi pemahaman Al-Qur`an Achmad Djuwahir Anomwidjaja yang dituangkan dalam karya Sekar Sari Kidung Rahayu: Sekar Macapat Terjemahanipun Juz ‘amma. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan bersifat deskriptif analitik. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian gabungan antara penelitian lapangan dan penelitian pustaka. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Achmad Djuwahir menginternalisasikan pemahaman atas ayat-ayat Juz ‘amma ke dalam tembang macapat Jawa. Hal ini dilakukan oleh Djawahir untuk membumikan pemahaman ayat ke dalam bahasa dan metode yang sudah diketahui oleh masyarakat Jawa secara umum. Djawahir tidak hanya mengalihbahasakan saja, melainkan juga memberikan pengantar berupa motivasi dan pengetahuan umum terkait surat tersebut, baik dari sisi penamaan, sebab diturunkannya, maupun maqasid-maqasid khusus yang secara tersurat dan tersirat dijelaskan oleh surat tersebut.

Abstract

The Hadith about Jahimah, who sought the Prophet Muhammad’s permission to participate in battle but was instructed instead to stay with his mother because “Paradise lies beneath her feet,” underscores the noble value of devotion to one’s mother. This virtue is also reflected in Surah Luqman (31:14–15), where God describes the mother’s struggle during pregnancy and weaning as wahnun ‘alā wahnin (“weakness upon weakness”) and commands children to show gratitude to their parents. This study aims to examine the psychological foundation of the Qur’anic injunction of birrul wâlidain (devotion to parents) in Surah Luqman 31:14–15 through the perspectives of maternal psychology and humanistic psychology. Employing a library research method and a descriptive-analytical approach, the study explores two main aspects: first, the maternal psychological perspective, which highlights the emotional and physical challenges experienced by mothers during pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding as formative factors in developing empathy and moral awareness in children; and second, the humanistic perspective, which emphasizes consciousness, empathy, and unconditional love as the essence of filial devotion. The findings reveal that the Qur’anic command to honor one’s parents—particularly the mother—constitutes not only a moral obligation but also an acknowledgment of maternal psychological resilience as the foundation for a harmonious parent–child relationship. Consequently, the moral message of Surah Luqman 31:14–15 transcends ethical instruction, reflecting an emotional and spiritual reciprocity between mother and child and reaffirming the relevance of birrul wâlidain in fostering familial affection and the cultivation of virtuous character.

Abstract

Environmental degradation has become one of the most critical global challenges in contemporary society, primarily driven by excessive human consumption and the exploitative use of natural resources. Islam addresses this issue through ethical teachings that emphasize moderation and balance in human behavior. One of the key Qur'anic principles related to this issue is the prohibition of isrāf (extravagance), as stated in QS. Al-A'rāf verse 31: “Eat and drink, but do not be excessive. Indeed, Allah does not like those who are excessive.” This study aims to analyze the concept of isrāf in the Qur’an and to examine its relevance to environmental preservation using a thematic interpretation (tafsīr maudhū‘ī) approach. The research adopts a qualitative library-based method by collecting Qur’anic verses related to isrāf and analyzing them through classical and contemporary tafsir as well as Islamic environmental ethics perspectives. The findings indicate that isrāf in the Qur’anic worldview refers to any form of behavior that exceeds proper limits, including excessive consumption and irresponsible use of natural resources. QS. Al-A‘rāf verse 31 highlights moderation as a fundamental Islamic value and provides an ethical foundation for sustainable living. The prohibition of isrāf is therefore not merely a moral injunction but also a practical framework for addressing contemporary environmental crises. This study concludes that Islamic teachings on moderation and balance are highly relevant to modern sustainability efforts and can contribute significantly to the development of environmentally responsible behavior.

Abstract

Vocabulary is a basic thing that children should know before they learn English because vocabulary will make it easier to understand or master English. In Kalijaten, children tend not to be able to master English and they also have difficulty learning vocabulary. So to help with this the researcer have implemented a method using “engklek” to help improve children's vocabulary in Kalijaten Village. Using these traditional learning media can make it easier for children to improve their vocabulary skills and they will not get bored easily so the possibility of improving the vocabulary can increase. The purpose of holding vocabulary learning through the game “engklek” is to make it easier for children in Kalijaten village to master vocabulary easily. The method used for research is qualitative by collecting data by means of observation to children in Kalijaten village and it also takes 10 days, where the first and second days of surveying the place and collecting data on children in Kalijaten village and the following day the game was held. The place used to research this PKM is in the village of Kalijaten, Taman Subdistrict, Sidoarjo Regency. The length of observation used was two days when the author did practice in the field. The materials used are white chalk, gaco, laminating paper and the vocabulary that has been given. The results have shown that 70% of the children in Kalijaten village have low proficiency in mastering English, especially in vocabulary and 20% of Kalijaten children have a standard ability in mastering English, especially in vocabulary, and 10% of children in Kalijaten village have high skills in mastering vocabulary.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the construction of the meaning of maghfirah in Wahbah az-Zuḥailī’s Tafsīr al-Munīr and examine its relevance in building values of optimism in the context of modern life. The study positions maghfirah as a theological, semantic, ethical, and psychospiritual concept with significant implications for the moral development and inner well-being of individuals. Methodology: The research employs a qualitative design with content analysis of az-Zuḥailī’s interpretation of seven maghfirah-themed verses, reinforced by literature related to Qur’anic theology, ethics, and psychology. Data analysis is conducted through data reduction, narrative presentation, and structured conclusion drawing. Results: The findings indicate that az-Zuḥailī interprets maghfirah as a form of divine compassion and protection that is transformative, encompassing the purification of the soul, moral strengthening, and the opening of opportunities for life change. Each verse highlights specific emphases, ranging from universal forgiveness, divine love, to the restoration of spiritual rank, with consistency in the idea that maghfirah fosters hope and positive motivation. Applications/Originality/Value: This research contributes theoretically by mapping the role of maghfirah as the foundation of optimism within the psychospiritual framework of Islam and offers a model of understanding that can be applied in the development of Qur’anic ethics literature and studies in mental health based on religious values.
