Abstract

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (SMEs) serve as the backbone of Indonesia’s economy, and their performance requires continuous strengthening because family-owned businesses dominate the sector and face persistent challenges in managing innovation and financial resources. This study aims to analyze the influence of innovation and entrepreneurial finance on business performance, particularly within family-owned SMEs in Indonesia, where family-owned businesses dominate the sector and face persistent challenges in managing innovation and financial resources, creating a strategic question about how these two factors jointly affect business performance. The study adopts a quantitative approach, distributing structured questionnaires to 309 SME owners and managers across multiple sectors, and uses purposive sampling to capture diverse business conditions. The data are examined using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to evaluate both measurement and structural models. The findings demonstrate that innovation exerts a significant positive effect on business performance and that entrepreneurial finance strengthens this effect by mediating the relationship between innovation and performance. The study contributes novelty by integrating the Resource-Based Theory with entrepreneurial finance to explain SMEs’ sustainability, and it provides practical implications by highlighting how family businesses can enhance competitiveness through innovation and sound financial strategies.

Technological development that keeps on developing gives very great impact for producers who run in electronic field in Indonesia. Television as information media that occupies the second and the fouth rank of both conventional television and online television. Based on the result of the pre-survey that is done, the factors of price, product quality, and after-sales service are the factors that are mostly agreed by the respondents in doing purchasing decisions of Sharp television. Based on the phenomenon that has occurred and described, the writer wants to test and analyze whether price, product quality, and after-sales service variables can have a significant influence on purchasing decisions of Sharp brand televisions. This research uses quantitative research and has 190 samples to support the research, so that the sampling in this research uses purposive sampling in which there are requirements in determining the sample. The data collection procedure uses a questionnaire, while the measurement scale that is used is Likert scale. Data analysis technique that is used in this research is multiple linear regression and hypothesis test uses t test. The result of the research shows that price and product quality influence significantly on consumer satisfaction, while after-sales service does not inflluence significantly on sharp television. The suggestion that is proposed by management must pay attention to the importance of price, product quality to increase the purchasing decision of Sharp television.

Abstract

Background: The rapid integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into e-commerce has transformed how consumers interact with online shopping platforms, particularly among Generation Z, who exhibit high digital literacy and strong acceptance of emerging technologies. Despite the growing adoption of AI-driven features, empirical findings regarding how AI knowledge influences purchase intention remain inconclusive, especially when perceptual factors and gender differences are considered.Purpose: This study aims to examine the effect of knowledge about artificial intelligence on Generation Z’s online purchase intention, with perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use of AI as mediating variables, and to investigate the moderating role of gender in these relationships.Design/methodology/approach: A quantitative, cross-sectional research design was employed, employing purposive sampling. Data were collected from 200 Generation Z consumers in Indonesia through an online questionnaire. The measurement items were assessed using a five-point Likert scale. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), including mediation testing and multi-group analysis to evaluate gender moderation.Findings/Results: The results indicate that knowledge of AI significantly influences perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Both perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use have positive and significant effects on purchase intention and function as mediators in the relationship between AI knowledge and purchase intention. However, the multi-group analysis reveals that gender differences were not significant in this study. Conclusion: The findings suggest that AI knowledge influences purchase intention both directly and indirectly through perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Strengthening AI literacy and designing user-friendly, value-oriented AI features are therefore essential to enhance Generation Z’s purchase intention in online shopping environments.Originality/value (State of the art): This study extends the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) by positioning AI knowledge as a cognitive antecedent of purchase intention through perceptual mediators, while simultaneously testing gender dynamics using multi-group analysis. The research provides novel insights into AI-driven consumer behavior among Generation Z in an emerging market context. Keywords:   artificial intelligence, knowledge about ai, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, purchase intention
