Abstract

Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika berupa Silabus, Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) dan Lembar Aktivitas Siswa (LAS) model discovery learning pada materi segiempat dan segitiga untuk memfasilitasi kemampuan representasi matematis siswa SMP/MTs yang valid dan memenuhi syarat praktikalitas. Model penelitian pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model 4-D yang terdiri dari tahap define (pendefenisian), design (perancangan), develop (pengembangan), dan disseminate (penyebaran). Uji coba terbatas dilakukan di SMP Negeri 5 Tapung Hilir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil validasi perangkat pembelajaran memiliki skor ≥ 2,5 dengan kategori valid, dan hasil praktikalitas memiliki persentasi skor 87%. Sehingga perangkat pembelajaran discovery learning pada materi segiempat dan segitiga untuk memfasilitasi kemampuan representasi matematis siswa kelas VII SMP/MTs telah valid dan memenuhi syarat praktikalitas. Kata Kunci:Penelitian Pengembangan, Perangkat Pembelajaran, Discovery Learning, Model Pengembangan 4-D, Kemampuan Representasi matematis Abstract:This research aims to produce the mathematics learning instruments which includes syllabus, learning implementation plans (RPP) and student activity sheets (LAS) model discovery learning on the material of quadrilateral and triangles to facilitate SMP/MTs students the mathematical representation abilities of that are valid and qualified of the practicality. The development research model used is the 4-D which consists the stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The limited trial was conducted at SMP Negeri 5 Tapung Hilir. The results showed that the result of learning instruments validation of had a score of ≥ 2.5 in the valid category, and the results of practicality had a percentage score of 87%. So that the instruments discovery learning on the material of quadrilateral and triangles to facilitate SMP/MTs of seventh grade students the mathematical representation abilities that are valid and qualified of the practicality. Abstract

Abstrak:Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika pada materi bilangan berpangkat bulat positif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian diskriptif kualitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMPN 2 Bangkinang Kota yang berjumlah 200 orang siswa. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 10 orang siswa kelas VII-3 SMP Negeri 2 Bangkinang Kota. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen soal tes tertulis untuk mengetahui kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, persentase siswa yang melakukan kesalahan dalam mengerjakan tes tertulis materi bilangan berpangkat bulat positif adalah sebagai berikut: 1) kesalahan konsep (43,67%), 2) kesalahan prosedur (48,27%), 3) kesalahan dalam operasi perhitungan (8,04%). Kesalahan yang banyak dilakukan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal tes tertulis pada materi bilangan berpangkat bulat positif adalah kesalahan prosedur dengan kategori cukup yaitu kesalahan dalam menuliskan langkah-langkah penyelesaian. Kata Kunci:Analisis Kesalahan, Bilangan Berpangkat Bulat Positif Abstract: The purpose of this study is to find out the errors of the students in solving mathematical problems in a positive spherical number. This research is qualitative descriptive research. The Population of this study is 200 students from VII grade at SMPN 2 Bangkinang kota, while the sample consists of 10 students who were randomly selected. A test was used to collect the data. The results of the study shows that the students' errors are categorised as the following: 1) misconceptions (43.67%), 2) procedural error (48.27%), 3) miscalculation in operation (8.04%). The dominant errors of the students found in integer matter are in procedure erros which is in considerable category. They have miscalculation in writing the step of completion. Abstract

The role of teachers as implementers is crucial in the execution of the Independent Curriculum. Teaching modules can serve as guidelines for teachers to ensure effective and efficient learning. Strengthening literacy and numeracy is one of the demands of the Independent Curriculum, aiming to develop students with critical mathematical thinking skills to compete globally. However, field observations indicate that teachers still require guidance in compiling teaching modules that align with the Independent Curriculum and meet their students' needs. This descriptive study analyzes teachers' needs for integrated literacy and numeracy teaching modules to enhance students' critical thinking skills. Data were collected through a non-test questionnaire distributed via Google Forms to junior high school/MTs mathematics teachers in Riau, with 11 participants. The study's results indicated that 72.7% of teachers expressed a significant need for integrated literacy and numeracy teaching modules to improve students' critical mathematical thinking abilities. Additionally, the analysis revealed that some teachers had developed their own teaching modules, but these lacked the integration of literacy and numeracy, and did not facilitate students' critical mathematical thinking skills. This highlights the necessity for the development of integrated literacy and numeracy teaching modules to enhance students' critical mathematical thinking skills.

Abstract

This research seeks to strengthen the mathematical problem-solving competence of eighth-grade (VIII.1) students at SMP Babussalam Pekanbaru during the odd semester of the 2023/2024 academic year, through the implementation of a problem-based learning model focused on the topic of linear equations. The study was designed as a Classroom Action Research carried out across two cycles, each comprising the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects consisted of 23 students from class VIII.1 at SMP Babussalam Pekanbaru. Data were gathered using two instruments: observation sheets recording teacher and student activities, and problem-solving tests administered as pretests and posttests. The collected data were then analyzed by calculating the N-Gain score derived from the observation and test results. Findings confirm that applying the problem-based learning model enhanced students' problem-solving competence, with success defined as an N-Gain score exceeding 0.3. The N-Gain scores obtained in cycles 1 and 2 were 0.64 and 0.69, respectively, both falling within the moderate-improvement category. These results indicate that the problem-based learning model is effective in refining the teaching process while sharpening students' ability to solve mathematical problems among class VIII.1 students at SMP Babussalam Pekanbaru. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan kecakapan peserta didik kelas VIII.1 SMP Babussalam Pekanbaru dalam memecahkan persoalan matematika pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2023/2024, melalui penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah pada materi persamaan garis lurus. Penelitian ini termasuk kategori Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilaksanakan sebanyak dua siklus, di mana tiap siklusnya mencakup tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, pengamatan, serta refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 23 peserta didik kelas VIII.1 SMP Babussalam Pekanbaru. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui dua cara, yakni lembar pengamatan terhadap aktivitas guru dan peserta didik, serta instrumen tes (pretest dan posttest) untuk mengukur kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis menggunakan skor N-Gain yang dihitung dari hasil lembar pengamatan dan tes tersebut. Temuan penelitian mengonfirmasi bahwa penerapan pembelajaran berbasis masalah mampu mendongkrak kecakapan peserta didik, dengan patokan keberhasilan berupa perolehan nilai N-Gain di atas 0,3. Pada siklus 1 dan siklus 2, nilai N-Gain yang dicapai berturut-turut sebesar 0,64 dan 0,69, yang tergolong dalam kategori peningkatan sedang. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran berbasis masalah efektif dalam memperbaiki kualitas proses pengajaran sekaligus mengasah kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika peserta didik kelas VIII.1 SMP Babussalam Pekanbaru.
