Abstract

The performance of the main engine of a fishing vessel becomes less than optimal when its cooling system does not function properly. Centrifugal pumps, as an important component of the cooling system, require special attention in selecting maintenance methods to maintain stable performance. This study aims to investigate the maintenance strategy of centrifugal pumps in the cooling system of the main engine of a fishing vessel. The Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) method is used to analyze maintenance strategies based on RPN values. The resulting RPN value can indicate the maintenance strategy that needs to be carried out. The highest RPN value and the failure mode category that requires special attention are analyzed using a histogram diagram. While the root cause of failure is clarified with a fishbone diagram. The results show that the highest failure mode is damage to the pump impeller due to corrosion. The main cause of this failure is found in the selection of impeller materials that are less suitable for working conditions and the environment. Predictive maintenance strategies are considered as a solution to overcome pump impeller problems. This study provides insight into choosing the right maintenance strategy, especially for fishing vessel engines.

Abstract

Abstract

Butterflies are part of the biological wealth that must be preserved. Butterflies have important values ??for humans and the environment, including: ecological, aesthetic, educational, endemic, conservation and cultural values. Butterflies are one type of insect that comes from the order Lepidotera, namely insects whose wings are covered by scales, and have a very important role in maintaining the ecosystem. Good geographical distribution and diversity of butterflies can provide good information in environmental studies as environmental indicators, as well as changes that may occur. Butterflies also make a very significant contribution in maintaining the balance of nature by acting as pollinators in flowers along with other pollinating animals. Butterflies are also insects whose existence is determined by their distributional ability and adaptation to environmental factors. Factors that play an important role in the existence of butterflies are plants. Plants are used by butterflies as host plants and food sources. Butterfly diversity is also influenced by abiotic factors. Several abiotic factors that affect the life of butterflies, among others: temperature, humidity, season, and wind speed. How the types of butterflies in the residential area of ??Bukit Kalibagor Indah have never been studied and published considering that currently the types of butterflies in each ecosystem have different species. This study aims to determine the types of butterflies in the Bukit Kalibagor Indah residential area. The parameters observed were the types of butterflies. Samples were taken from the Bukit Kalibagor Indah residential area. The research was conducted in April 2021 - June 2021 for 2 months. This research was conducted using the roaming method. The results of the study found 10 species with 6 genera from 48 individuals belonging to 2 families, namely Nympalidae (3 species) and Pieridae (7 species). Abstract

Climate variations can affect sea surface temperature (SST), feed distribution, and fish habitat. Temporal analysis of SPL and chlorophyll-a can help identify the impact of climate change on capture fisheries productivity. This study aims to analyze the relationship between chlorophyll-a and sea surface temperature (SST) on the productivity of dominant capture fishery commodities in the southern waters of the Special Region of Yogyakarta I-FMA 573. Fisheries productivity data on five dominant fish species at the research site (yellowfin tuna (Thunnus albacares), skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis), savalai hairtail (Trichiurus savala), Indian scad (Decapterus russelli), and common dolphinfish (Coryphaena hippurus)) in 2014-2023 were collected from PPP Sadeng. Chlorophyll-a and SST data for 2014-2023 were obtained from Aqua Modis multisensory satellite imagery. The data was classified based on the four seasons in Indonesia allowing analysis of seasonal changes affecting fisheries productivity. Skipjack tuna has the highest productivity, with an average of 410,803 kg/trip, while common dolphinfish has the lowest productivity, with an average of 29,521 kg/trip. Based on the results of multiple linear regression, chlorophyll-a and SST had a significant effect on the productivity of yellowfin tuna, skipjack tuna, Indian scad, and common dolphinfish, so that chlorophyll-a and SST may indicate the presence of these fish populations. Meanwhile, savalai hairtail are not significantly affected by chlorophyll-a and SST, because many environmental factors affect including monsoon winds, currents, and rainfall.
