Abstract

The development of manufacturing technology, including in the field of lathes, continues to progress quite significantly to meet increasingly complex industrial needs. One of the important innovations in lathes was the use of detachable heads, the use of cutting tools in a more flexible and efficient way. Bolts with hexagonal holes are an important component in the automotive world, one of their uses is in motorbike calipers. After conducting a literature study regarding loose heads and drill chucks on lathe machines, the author carried out an evaluation and carried out a design for the design of an internal hexagon rotating tool on a conventional lathe using the Inventor application. Evaluation of the performance of this tool shows that this tool can be relied on for practical and educational applications, and meets the needs of its users which can be seen in the Von Mises Stress simulation results and also the results of tool testing

Abstract

Inovasi dan pengembangan perlengkapan riset harus dilakukan seiring dengan berkembangnya cabang penelitian, khususnya pada bidang rekayasa terkait dengan energi terbarukan. Pemanfaatan Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) sebagai penyedia panas harus dilengkapi dengan fluida pemindah panas untuk mendistribusikan energi termal dari sumber ke beban. Salah satu komponen terpenting adalah pompa alir yang digunakan untuk memindahkan fluida kerja. Karakteristik khusus dibutuhkan untuk pompa yang digunakan karena adanya tuntutan operasi temperatur yang tinggi dan fluida yang kental. Pompa trochoid atau gerotor pilihan tepat untuk diaplikasikan pada pompa fluida pemindah panas. Studi ini membahas hubungan antara kapasitas pemompaan terhadap temperatur dan kecepatan pompa. Melalui studi eksperimen, diperoleh bahwa kapasitas pemompaan dipengaruhi oleh temperatur dan kecepatan pompa. Pada kecepatan 750 RPM, kapasitas pemompaan berkisar antara 91–98 cc untuk rentang temperatur antara 30–100 °C. Kecepatan pompa yang lebih tinggi sebesar 1150 RPM, sehingga mampu menghasilkan kapasitas yang lebih tinggi sebesar 127–158 cc pada rentang temperatur yang sama.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate student perceptions of the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Program in the Mechanical Engineering cluster of Jakarta State University. The survey was conducted to collect data from students who are active in the MBKM Program. The data is then analyzed to identify perceptions of the benefits, challenges, and effectiveness of the program. The results showed that the majority of students had an adequate understanding of MBKM and sought information through various sources, such as social media, mass media, and the official website of the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemdikbud). The Internship/Work Practice Program (MSIB) is the most dominant, and the majority of students benefit positively from MBKM in developing academic skills and learning experiences. Students also reported improvements in hard skills and soft skills. Although some aspects of the program implementation are progressing, the findings point to the need for improvement, especially related to student regulations. Students feel the need to improve good regulations related to the conversion of MBKM program courses. This research contributes to the improvement of the continued development of the MBKM Program in universities

Abstract

Baja AISI 4140 merupakan baja paduan menengah yang sering digunakan dalam aplikasi teknik, termasuk pada komponen kapal, karena memiliki kekuatan tinggi dan potensi untuk ditingkatkan sifat mekaniknya melalui perlakuan panas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh variasi waktu tahan pada proses perlakuan panas terhadap perubahan struktur mikro, kekerasan, dan laju korosi baja AISI 4140. Perlakuan panas dilakukan dengan memanaskan spesimen pada suhu 800°C selama 30 menit dan 45 menit, kemudian diikuti proses quenching menggunakan oli SAE 10W-40. Spesimen tanpa perlakuan panas digunakan sebagai pembanding. Struktur mikro diamati menggunakan mikroskop optik Olympus BX51M, kekerasan diuji dengan metode Vickers menggunakan beban 5 kg, dan korosi diuji dengan metode kehilangan berat dalam larutan NaCl 3,5%. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa semakin lama waktu penahanan, struktur mikro didominasi oleh fasa martensit yang lebih halus dan homogen. Hal ini berdampak langsung pada peningkatan kekerasan material, di mana spesimen dengan waktu tahan 45 menit menunjukkan nilai kekerasan tertinggi 658,14 HV dibandingkan spesimen lainnya. Nilai laju korosi tertinggi diperoleh Q-30 melalui pengujian selama 96 jam sebesar 38,02 mpy

Abstract

In Indonesia, only 48% of vocational teachers demonstrate limited readiness to integrate Artificial Intelligence into learning. Addressing this issue requires a reliable instrument to evaluate prospective teachers' preparedness. This study developed and validated an instrument based on the Technology Acceptance Model to assess the digital competencies of Mechanical Engineering pre-service teachers in Indonesian vocational education. The research quantitatively evaluated four constructs: Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Behavioral Intention, and Self-Efficacy. Involving 100 respondents from a community service program, the development followed three stages: preparation, expert content validation using Aiken’s V, and construct validation via Exploratory Factor Analysis. Results confirmed unidimensional structures for all constructs. Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Ease of Use showed strong validity with high eigenvalues (4.984 and 5.063) and explained variance (49.8% and 50.6%). The Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin measure confirmed sampling adequacy (0.833–0.909). Aiken’s V analysis indicated high content (0.83), construct (0.81), and linguistic validity (0.85). Key findings highlight deficiencies in Artificial Intelligence tool proficiency, emphasizing the need for curriculum alignment with Industry 4.0 demands. This study provides a validated tool to guide teacher training and policy, effectively addressing the digital divide in vocational education and bridging a critical gap between theory and practice.

Abstract

This study evaluates the readiness of prospective vocational school teachers in integrating Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) into learning using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) framework, which includes Perceived Usefulness (PU), Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU), Behavioral Intention (BI), and Self-Efficacy (SE). The research employs a descriptive quantitative design with 100 respondents who are prospective vocational high school mechanical engineering teachers. The instrument consists of 30 items (Likert scale 1–5) and was validated by three validators using Aiken’s V (content = 0.90; construct = 0.88; language = 0.89; > 0.75). The results showed that PU (mean = 4.01; SD = 0.77) was the highest, followed by BI (mean = 3.93; SD = 0.92) and PEOU (mean = 3.89; SD = 0.82), while SE (mean = 3.66; SD = 0.95) was the lowest but relatively. Item-level analysis indicated strengths in perceptions of industry relevance and AI-assisted learning planning, as well as the need for strengthening technical skills and troubleshooting. These findings support the urgency for vocational curriculum development emphasizing AI literacy, pedagogical-technological training, and industry collaboration.
