Abstract

This study focuses on implementing the semester credit system in the curriculum at madrasah and how this system can improve student learning achievement. The main objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the semester credit system in improving learning flexibility, individual skill development, student independence, and technology support. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study involving in-depth interviews with the principal, teachers, and students, classroom observation and document analysis. The study results indicate that the semester credit system improves curriculum flexibility, allows for adjustments to teaching materials according to student needs, and supports the development of student skills and independence. Technology support has also proven to be important in facilitating the implementation of this system and improving student learning experiences. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of implementing the semester credit system to improve academic performance and provide practical guidance for developing educational policies that are more responsive to student needs.

Abstract

Facing the era of globalization filled with competition, education becomes a prerequisite for participating in future development. This has led to the emergence of many tutoring institutions, resulting in intense competition in the education service industry. The aim of this research is to develop a new learning program strategy using the SWOT analysis method at BES Kediri Tutoring Institution. The results of the SWOT analysis for the next period need to enhance the quality of learning, improve English language courses and Conversational skills not offered by other tutoring institutions, and enhance learning services that are equal to or better than competitors. Based on the SWOT quadrant matrix analysis, it is concluded that BES tutoring institution has a total strength greater than weaknesses, while total opportunities are smaller than threats. Therefore, BES tutoring institution falls into quadrant II. The strategy formulated is diversification strategy (product/market) efforts to seek and develop new products or markets, or diversify to expand market share or all of the above.

Abstract

Improving the quality of education in Islamic schools (madrasahs) depends not only on internal institutional factors but also on the principal’s strategic ability to build partnerships with the community. This study aims to explore the strategic role of the school principal in fostering community partnerships to improve educational quality at MTs Wringinrejo, Banyuwangi. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using in-depth interviews with the principal, teachers, community leaders, parents, and alumni. The findings reveal that the principal demonstrates an active transformational leadership style in developing social networks through extracurricular programs, infrastructure support, student organization engagement, and alumni empowerment. These efforts have led to an increase in student enrollment and broader community involvement in school development. This study contributes to the understanding of the importance of participatory leadership in community-based Islamic education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji strategi kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam mengintegrasikan nilai nasionalisme dan keagamaan pada anak usia dini di PAUD Elbina Banyuwangi. Kajian ini penting dalam menghadapi tantangan globalisasi yang dapat mengikis identitas budaya dan keagamaan, khususnya dalam konteks masyarakat pedesaan yang kaya keberagaman budaya dan agama. Penelitian bertujuan mengidentifikasi strategi khusus kepala sekolah dalam membentuk karakter anak melalui pendidikan berbasis nilai. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, melalui observasi lapangan dan wawancara. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa program seperti peringatan hari besar nasional dan keagamaan, literasi budaya dan agama, serta kegiatan senam dan lagu kebangsaan efektif menanamkan rasa cinta tanah air dan pemahaman spiritual pada anak-anak. Namun, keterlibatan orang tua dan masyarakat di luar sekolah masih menjadi tantangan. Implikasi praktis dari penelitian ini mencakup pentingnya kolaborasi antara sekolah, orang tua, dan komunitas untuk memperkuat penerapan nilai-nilai karakter secara konsisten. Program berbasis komunitas, seperti pelatihan orang tua atau kegiatan bersama masyarakat dapat menjadi solusi untuk mendukung keberlanjutan pendidikan karakter. Penelitian ini dapat menjadi acuan bagi lembaga pendidikan lain dalam merancang strategi pendidikan karakter yang relevan dengan kondisi lokal, khususnya di wilayah pedesaan.

Abstract

The analysis of teaching materials serves as an essential approach to evaluating the quality of textbooks used in the learning process. This process is crucial to ensure that textbooks are appropriate for students’ developmental stages and support learning objectives in alignment with curriculum standards. The present study focuses on the Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti (Islamic Education and Character Education) textbook for Grade 1 elementary school, published by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (KEMENDIKBUD RISTEK) in 2021. The analysis adopts SWOT theory (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats), which systematically identifies and describes both IFAS (Internal Factor Analysis Summary) and EFAS (External Factor Analysis Summary). Within this framework, four key elements are examined strengths and weaknesses as internal factors, and opportunities and threats as external factors which are then utilized to formulate strategic plans for improving the quality of learning. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through library research, drawing on textbooks, journals, articles, and other relevant written sources. The findings reveal that, internally, the Islamic Education and Character Education textbook demonstrates more strengths than weaknesses. Externally, the analysis shows that opportunities outweigh threats. Overall, the application of SWOT analysis provides a foundation for developing teaching materials that are more contextual and applicable, while simultaneously fostering character development and enhancing the quality of education.
