Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the role of Islamic Religious Education Teachers (PAI) in improving the religious digital literacy skills of students at SMAN 1 Glagah Banyuwangi. In this digital era, digital literacy skills are one of the main competencies that must be possessed by every individual, including in the context of religious education. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study type of research. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews with PAI teachers, students, principals, and parents of students, direct observation in classrooms and school environments, and analysis of documentation such as curriculum, lesson plans, and digital teaching materials. The data analysis technique is carried out through data triangulation, which aims to ensure the validity and reliability of the findings by comparing data from various sources to get a comprehensive picture. The results of the study show that PAI teachers at SMAN 1 Glagah Banyuwangi play a crucial role in improving students' religious digital literacy through various strategies, such as the provision of relevant materials, the use of technology in the learning process, the development of an inclusive curriculum, and the provision of adequate resources and references. PAI teachers also face several challenges, including limited resources and the need to constantly update their tech skills. This writing is expected to provide in-depth insights into the best practices and challenges faced by PAI teachers in the digital era.

Abstract

In the midst of individualistic nature and materialistic lifestyles that are increasingly thickening, Islamic boarding schools are still consistent by presenting an education system that is able to bridge the physical (physical) needs and mental spiritual (spiritual) needs of humans. The uniqueness of the role of pesantren is certainly inseparable from the professionalism and intelligence of the Kiai in leading the pesantren education community. It is at this point that the main reason for this research is raised. The main focus in the discussion of this research focuses on the Kiai's way of diagnosing the pesantren community. The focus in this research is how the behavior of the kiai in diagnosing the pesantren community. This research was conducted at the Bustanul Falah Islamic boarding school in Banyuwangi using a qualitative approach to describe the leadership behavior of Kiai. The conclusion of the findings based on the results of in-depth interviews, documentation and observations illustrates that the Kiai's dialogue process carried out in the internal and external environment of Islamic boarding schools is about adjusting three important components to the work needs of developing formal education in pesantren. The three are religious compatibility, commitment and competence.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the visionary leadership of kyai with a portrait of the role of kyai as a direction seter, change agent, spokesperson and as coach. Through this role, it is hoped that the competitiveness of students at the Al-Bidayah Jember Islamic boarding school is in accordance with the needs of the community in the future. This research was carried out because of the lack of research in Islamic boarding schools with the use of visionary leadership types but focused on the competitiveness of students. This research method uses qualitative research with a type of descriptive qualitative research. The subject of this study was a caregiver of Islamic boarding school named Dr. KH. Abdul Haris, M.Ag. Data collection techniques are in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques use Miles & Huberman theory, while data validity uses triangulation. The results of this study can be described that in carrying out his role, a kyai always involves stakeholders in formulating policies guided by the needs of the community and the future, innovating so that his vision and mission can be realized this is done by making an accelerated method in learning the yellow book and choosing the right learning methods and models, kyai socializes the vision and mission of the Islamic boarding school to the general public through da'wah in the media Social and training both in schools and Islamic boarding schools and kyai become resource persons in seminars for teachers or asatidz councils both in schools and Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of number lotto media to develop the ability to recognize numbers in children in group A1 at RA Khadijah 50 Sumberasri for the academic year 2021/2022, supporting factors and inhibiting factors for implementing number lotto media to develop ability to recognize numbers in children in group A1 in RA. Khadijah 50 Sumberasri for the academic year 2021/2022. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used Miles and Huberman. As for the validity of the data using Source Triangulation. The results showed that the number lotto media was very effective in developing the ability to recognize numbers in children in indicator 1) the child was able to say/mention a sequence of numbers 1-10. 2) the child is able to number by pointing to objects (recognize the concept of numbers with objects 1-10). 3) the child is able to show the order of objects for numbers 1-10. 4) the child is able to connect/pair number symbols with objects 1-10. The stages carried out by the teacher include: 1) Planning. 2) Implementation. 3) Evaluation. Of the 17 students of class A1 RA Khadijah 50 Sumberasri overall everything has improved, 14 children are developing very well in each indicator, 2 children are developing as expected in almost every indicator, 1 child is starting to develop in almost all indicators.

Abstract

This service aims to provide assistance in developing the Annual Work Plan for Character-Based Schools at TK Bustanul Falah Kembiritan Genteng, Banyuwangi. This initiative is driven by the need to meet the standards set by the National Education System, which emphasizes effective school management and quality education. The methodology of this service involves a collaborative approach between the PKM team from the Faculty of Tarbiyah at IAI Ibrahimy Genteng Banyuwangi and the stakeholders of the school, including preparation, implementation, and evaluation, which are then packaged in the form of seminars, training sessions, and structured discussions to enhance understanding of preparing the annual work plan in accordance with national education standards. The results of this service have yielded a better understanding of preparing the annual work plan among school principals and teaching staff. Through mentoring and consultation, the school has successfully developed a comprehensive annual work plan tailored to its needs and ready for implementation in the upcoming academic year. As for the sustainability of this service, it emphasizes continuous mentoring and consultation. This support will enable schools to maintain the quality of their annual work plans and effectively implement them in the subsequent academic years, contributing to an overall improvement in school management and educational quality.

Abstract

The main focus in the discussion is Situational Leadership Skills Kiai which focuses on skills in terms of diagnosis, flexible leadership style and partnering towards success. It is a qualitative research with its type of approach that has a phenomenological pattern. Data collection techniques with observations, interviews, documents and audiovisual materials. Data analysis techniques with condensation data, display data and conclusion drawing/verifiying. The results of this study include Kiai's skills in diagnosing by providing potential tests to the pesantren community which aims to determine their abilities and commitment. Flexible skills in various leadership styles depend on the competence and commitment of the pesantren community. Meanwhile, the skill of partnering towards success is characterized by building communication and building teamwork.

Abstract

Pesantren dianggap sebagai lembaga tradisional yang tidak mampu berkembang di tengah arus globalisasi. Faktanya, peran di tengah masyarakat sejak kolonial hingga saat ini tak tergantikan. Sebagai salah satu institusi yang telah sejak pra kolonialisme, pesantren memiliki akar budaya yang terus beradaptasi dengan perubahan masyarakat Indonesia. Bahkan beberapa tahun terakhir, peranya mulai sangat didukung oleh pemerintah. Keistimewaannya ini tentu tidak terlepas pada pola desain birokrasi budaya organisasinya. Penelitian ini fokus pada upaya-upaya manajemen yang dilakukan pesantren dalam merespons perubahan yang terjadi di masyarakat. Fenomena yang diteliti adalah upaya yang dilakukan pesantren Nurul Islam Salatreng Situbondo Jawa Timur. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif studi kasus, penelitian ini fokus mengkaji pola relasi struktur yang terjadi dalam melestarikan budaya pesantren. Hasil penelitian yang dihasilkan menyatakan bahwa manajemen birokrasi pelestarian budaya pesantren dilakukan dengan berorientasi pada penguatan budaya pesantren dan sekaligus merespons inovatif perubahan yang terjadi. Birokrasi pesantren dikembangkan dengan tiga varian struktur yakni inti, internal dan Eksternal. Kyai sebagai struktur inti berhubungan dengan pola hierarki dan klan demi terjaganya budaya pesantren yang luhur. Selain itu, struktur inti juga membangun relasi dengan struktur Eksternal dengan pola market dan adhocracy. Tujuannya guna mengembangkan kerja organisasi yang terbuka dan inovatif dalam merespons dampak globalisasi.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the implementation of the learning process of the Syi'ir Ngudi Susilo manuscript at TPQ Al Muktamar, (2) identify the character values embedded in the manuscript, and (3) examine the application of character education values derived from the manuscript. A qualitative descriptive approach with a case study methodology was employed, conducted at TPQ Al Muktamar. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings of this study reveal that the learning process of the Syi'ir Ngudi Susilo manuscript at TPQ Al Muktamar is effective in promoting character development among students. The manuscript incorporates significant character values, such as discipline, respect, patience, and devotion, which are essential in shaping students' moral and ethical behavior. The character values embedded within the manuscript have been instrumental in fostering better character development among students, influencing both their academic and personal lives. Additionally, the application of these values through the learning process at TPQ Al Muktamar has successfully instilled positive habits and motivated students to apply these values in their daily routines. In conclusion, the Syi'ir Ngudi Susilo manuscript has proven to be an effective tool for character education at TPQ Al Muktamar, as it not only educates students about religious teachings but also shapes their moral character. This study highlights the importance of integrating character education into religious learning, which can play a significant role in cultivating a well-rounded, ethically driven generation.

Abstract

This study examines the recruitment and selection strategies for educators at SMP Sains Qur'an Bustanul Falah Genteng Banyuwangi, designed to integrate academic and religious competencies in a balanced manner. The background of this research is based on a key issue faced by Islamic educational institutions: the dilemma in selecting educators who excel in either academic or religious aspects due to the absence of standardized assessment systems to measure both simultaneously. This study aims to describe the strategies, criteria, and selection mechanisms for educators at SMP Sains Qur'an Bustanul Falah, as well as identify the challenges faced in its implementation. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, with data collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the school principal, foundation supervisors, and the selection committee. Data analysis employed reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, along with source triangulation to validate findings. The results show that the selection strategy emphasizes integration between academic competencies (minimum bachelor's degree, pedagogical skills, classroom management) and religious competencies (Qur'an memorization skills, understanding of Ahlussunnah wal Jama’ah An-Nahdliyah). The selection mechanism includes administrative selection, academic competency tests, Qur'anic recitation proficiency exams, and interviews on NU ideology. The main challenges identified are the limited availability of candidates with both competencies and the absence of standardized assessment indicators for religious competencies. This study recommends the development of systematic assessment standards for religious competencies as a solution to strengthen the recruitment process in Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

The increasingly urgent global ecological crisis demands a holistic approach, including spiritual and moral dimensions in education. This study focuses on how elements of eco-theological consciousness are cultivated within the educational culture of Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), and how these elements shape the ecological behavior of pesantren communities. In this context, pesantren, as traditional Islamic educational institutions, hold significant potential to instill ecological consciousness grounded in religious values. This interdisciplinary research integrates theological, sociological, and educational approaches, which are still rarely examined in a comprehensive manner within the pesantren context. Employing a paradigmatic approach grounded in constructivism and interpretivism, this qualitative study was conducted at two pesantren recognized for their strong ecological culture: Subulussalam in Banyuwangi and Nurul Qornain in Jember. The findings suggest that eco-spiritual consciousness in pesantren is built upon two main pillars: cognitive and value-based elements. At Nurul Qornain, ecological cognition stems from fiqh-based (Islamic jurisprudential) understanding, while at Subulussalam, it arises from theological aesthetics. Both pesantren also demonstrate the internalization of values that shape a collective ethos—cleanliness as worship and beauty as an expression of faith. Therefore, ecological consciousness in pesantren is not merely a matter of verbal instruction, but a cultural praxis that is sustainably transmitted across generations. These findings make a significant contribution to the development of faith-based environmental education.
