Abstract

This research aims to see the influence of the PjBL model for making dioramas on: (1) Creative Thinking Ability; (2) Curiosity on biodiversity material. This research uses a quasi-experimental quantitative research design, using a group design posttest-only. The sample in this study was class VIIB (control) with a total of 30 students and class VIIG (experiment) with a total of 32 students at SMPN 3 Sukoharjo, Central Java, Indonesia in the 2022/2023 academic year. Data collection on creative thinking abilities was carried out using the test method esssay and for curiosity using a non-test in the form of a questionnaire. The results of the research state that: (1) students' creative thinking abilities using the PjBL model have a significant effect compared to students using the conventional model taught at school. The average score for each class was 73.20 (experimental); 63 (control); (2) curiosity (curiosity) with the PjBL model also has a significant effect compared to students who use the conventional model taught at school with an average score of 70.97 (experiment); 64.91 (control).

Abstract

This research aims to determine the implementation of project activities to strengthen the Pancasila Student Profile at State Junior High School 1 (SMP Negeri 1) Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia, and the impact of its implementation on students. The profile of Pancasila students is: 1) Believer, devoted to God Almighty and has noble character, 2) Independent, 3) cooperation, 4) Global diversity, 5) Critical reasoning, 6) Creative based on local wisdom by making Batik, namely Batik Jumputan and Written Batik, in Solo (Surakarta), Central Java, Indonesia. The research population was in one of the junior high schools in Surakarta (SMP Negeri 1 Surakarta). The Pancasila Student Profile can be identified as starting to develop, currently developing according to expectations, and very developing. From the observations, it is known that the Project for Strengthening the Profile of Pancasila Students (P5) at SMP Negeri 1 Surakarta has developed according to expectations by 60% and has developed very well at 40%. However, there is still a weakness, namely that the assessment of the aspects of the Project for Strengthening the Profile of Pancasila Students (P5) as a group is not yet known individually so the aspects that stand out individually are not yet known.

Abstract

Teachers play a crucial role in preparing quality human resources. One Junior High School in Sragen has implemented the Kurikulum Merdeka (Merdeka Curriculum). Based on interviews, teachers are still experiencing challenges in developing learning instruments and implementing the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) model and the Project to Strengthen Students' Pancasila Profile. This community service team, Research Group Innovation in Science Classroom (ISC) provided training for teachers on the implementation of STEAM in the Merdeka Curriculum. The training included planning, implementation, mentoring, evaluation, and reporting. This Community Service Program has improved teachers' skills in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals.

Abstract

Kurikulum Merdeka telah diimplementasikan pada semua jenjang pendidikan dasar sampai menengah di Indonesia sejak tahun ajaran 2022/2023, namun demikian, masih banyak guru mata pelajaran yang menyampaikan kendala dalam pelaksanaannya, terutama untuk memastikan apakah mereka sudah mengambil langkah yang tepat dalam implementasinya. Sebagai pengajar, perangkat pembelajaran menjadi dasar pelaksanaan pembelajaran di kelas, sehingga alur tujuan yang ingin dicapai dan dievaluasi harus diidentifikasi dengan jelas. Hasil observasi menunjukkan masih banyak miskonsepsi mengenai modul ajar berbasis Kurikulum Merdeka sehingga pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan untuk memberdayakan keterampilan guru melalui backward design lesson plan sebagai implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka. Backward design merupakan suatu metode perencanaan pelajaran yang berakar dari tujuan pembelajaran yang berpusat pada peserta didik dan tidak sekedar berfokus pada standar nasional.   Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan di SMPN 3 Cepogo Satu Atap, Boyolali, Jawa Tengah.  Jumlah peserta pengabdian adalah 21 guru.  Hasil dari kegiatan pendampingan ini adalah guru membuat perangkat pembelajaran sesuai alur backward design dan mengimplementasikannya di mata pelajarannya sesuai dengan semangat kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

Latar Belakang : Bencana tanah longsor merupakan salah satu bencana alam geologi yang dapat menimbulkan korban jiwa dan kerugian material yang sangat besar. Kesiapsiagaan merupakan salah satu bagian dari proses manajemen bencana dan peningkatan kesiapsiagaan merupakan salah satu upaya penting dari kegiatan pengurangan resiko bencana. Salah satu intervensi yang dapat diberikan untuk meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan yaitu edukasi melalui media video animasi. Tujuan : Untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Pemberian Edukasi Media Video Animasi Terhadap Kesiapsiagaan Bencana Tanah Longsor di Ngargoyoso Kabupaten Karanganyar. Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan desain penelitian Quasi Eksperimen Design dengan rancangan One Group Pre Test – Post Test Design. Pengukuran kesiapsiagaan dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan intervensi. Analisa univariat menggunakan frekuensi dan presentase, sedangkan analisa bivariat mengunakan uji Wilcoxon. Hasil : Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dari 30 responden, sebelum dilakukan intervensi didapatkan nilai rata-rata kesiapsiagaan responden sebesar (3,10) dan setelah dilakukan intervensi terjadi peningkatan menjadi (4,60). Kesimpulan : Ada pengaruh pemberian edukasi media video animasi terhadap kesiapsiagaan bencana tanah longsor di Ngargoyoso Kabupaten Karanganyar.

Abstract

Environmental problems due to excessive carbon emissions are increasing, while student awareness of this issue is still low. Science learning has great potential in instilling sustainability values. Therefore, this service aims to empower teachers in one of the junior high schools in Central Java in designing and implementing Low Carbon Education (LCE) based learning. The short-term goal of this activity is to improve teachers' understanding of the concept of low carbon and its application in learning. In the long term, teachers are expected to be able to develop learning innovations that are more contextualized and can apply students' low carbon lifestyle in their daily lives. The methods used include socialization of the LCE concept, development of low carbon-based learning tools, implementation in the form of simple experiments and environmental projects, and program evaluation. The results show an increase in teachers' understanding of LCE and the emergence of applicable environment-based learning projects. The main contribution of this program is the availability of a model for teacher capacity building in implementing LCE that can be replicated in other education units, while contributing to climate change mitigation efforts through education.

Abstract

This paper discusses the basic concept of strategic management in the public sector and its relevance in the context of Indonesian governance. Using a descriptive-qualitative approach, the article outlines the main stages of strategic management—strategy formulation, implementation, and evaluation—and compares them with practices in the private sector. Furthermore, it explores the implications of applying this concept in public policy and government strategic planning, as well as the practical challenges and solutions encountered in the field. This study is expected to provide both conceptual and practical contributions to the development of more effective and accountable public governance.

Abstract

COBENT (Community Based Environment) merupakan tindakan maupun kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh individu atau masyarakat setempat dalam mengelola kelestarian lingkungan dengan mempertahankan kualitas lingkungan. Upaya konservasi dan pengembangan usaha meningkatkan kualitas lingkungan sangat ditekankan dalam konsep ini. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui konsep dan implementasi dari konsep COBENT dalam pengelolaan sampah secara mandiri guna mewujudkan pembangunan berkelanjutan di Dusun Sukunan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, yaitu penelitian yang bermaksud untuk memahami fenomena tentang apa yang dialami oleh subjek penelitian. Melalui metode penelitian tersebut, peneliti leluasa untuk memperoleh data fakta secara detail sehingga data yang diperoleh mampu menjawab pertanyaan. Hasil penelitian dengan konsep COBENT dalam Pengelolaan Sampah Mandiri di Dusun Sukunan ditemukan bahwa dari aspek partisipasi, stakeholders, faktor penggerak, konservasi lingkungan beserta dampak yang ditimbulkan saling berkaitan dan mendukung satu sama lain. Implementasi COBENT yang diterapkan dalam pengelolaan sampah secara mandiri menjadi salah satu usaha untuk mengubah nilai sampah menjadi sesuatu yang bisa bermanfaat baik secara ekonomi maupun lingkungan. Dari upaya COBENT dalam pengelolaan sampah secara mandiri yang dilakukan secara berkesinambungan sehingga mampu mewujudkan pembangunan berkelanjutan di Dusun Sukunan serta mampu menjadi support system yang utama dan best practiced bagi daerah lainnya.

Abstract

Generation Z in Indonesia is facing conditions where there are a lot of challenges such as violences in school, career, and sustainibility development. Therefore, Indonesia has developed an Independent Curriculum to acomodate and promote student’s self-reliance as a part of Pancasila Profile dimensions as a preventive action to face 21st century challenges. This research aims to assess student’s self-reliance among generation Z in Junior High School. This study is quantitative research explaining the quality of instrument and classifying student’s abilities based on questionnaire analyzed by using Rasch Model. The sample used in this research consist of 104 students from Junior High School that have been given a P5 program and required to be tested using 26 test items. The result of self-relliance quistionnaire is analyzed using the rasch model. The findings explained that students score and mostly get the lowest score in gender or demographic analysis. In conclusion, student’s self-reliance among generation Z is still unequal and low neither in gender or demographic. Furthermore, school should train student’s self-reliance intensively to prepare students facing future challenges.

Abstract

The natural environment around students can become a learning object that provides students with real experiences. This research aims to determine the effect of the Exploring the Natural Environment (JAS) approach on (1) students' curiosity, (2) students' critical thinking skills, and (3) student learning outcomes. This research uses a quasi-experimental design. The population consists of seventh-grade junior high school students. Data collection techniques are carried out using tests and observations. Prerequisite tests are carried out using validation tests, homogeneity tests, and normality tests. The hypothesis analysis technique is carried out using the independent simple t-test. The research results obtained are, One, there is an influence of the JAS approach on students' curiosity with a sig-2tailed result of 0.011 ? 0.05, Two, there is no influence of the JAS approach on students' critical thinking skills with a sig-2tailed result of 0.080. This is because students still do not fulfill the six categories of critical thinking according to Facione, Three, there is an influence of the JAS approach on student learning outcomes with a sig-2tailed result value of 0.003 ? 0.05. This research concluded that the natural exploration approach (JAS) had an influence on students' learning outcomes and curiosity, but had no effect on students' critical thinking skills. The obstacle in this research is that the time used is still very limited, so better time management is needed.
